Although Mabel Quinn had seen photos of the little guy on Alice Conley’s phone before, Alice often liked to post photos of her child in her social media moments, and of course, most were embarrassing photos of little Jasper Howards.

Despite the fun, Mabel told Alice, "Be careful, when your son grows up, he might get so angry over these photos you posted from his childhood that he’ll cough up blood and come after you."

"Hmm, that’s a point." Alice pretended to take it to heart but immediately added, "Then I should post more while he’s still small."

Mabel was left speechless.

But at that moment, looking at little Jasper Howards, Mabel realized that even though he was only six months older than Ivy, he seemed very mature. When he spoke or did things, he seemed pretty methodical. If Alice made any mistakes, the little guy would directly complain, saying things like, "Mommy, you’re too dumb." "Mommy, you’ve worn your slippers wrong again. I think in the future all the slippers at home should be bought the same so you won’t wear them wrong." Or, "Mommy, how come you can’t even solve such a simple problem? Are you sure you’re really my mommy?"

Alice was going crazy, and Mabel was sweating profusely because the problem little Jasper threw their way was a complete bunch of functions, and Mabel couldn’t understand it. Was it simple? While she had studied functions back in the day, she hadn’t needed to use them for work over the years, and that knowledge had long gone back to her teacher. She figured Alice was probably in the same boat.

Plus, in Mabel’s mind, functions shouldn’t be introduced until junior high, right? Yet Alice’s son already knew how to solve them at such a young age?!

"Uh, your son... is really smart," Mabel couldn’t help but exclaim.

"Sometimes he’s too smart for his own good!" Alice gritted her teeth. Growing up, she never thought her intelligence was lacking, but after encountering her son, she seriously began to doubt her own IQ. Before her son turned three, her IQ completely overshadowed his, but after he turned three, she started getting overshadowed by him.

Yet Alice would comfort herself and think she’d passed on her high intelligence to her son, since, after all, she had found out that Dorian Howards wasn’t solving functions at age 5/6 either.

However, the two little ones didn’t get along as instantly as Alice and Mabel had imagined. At best, they didn’t fight and got along peacefully.

When Jasper showed Katherine Quinn a function problem and she had no clue how to solve it, earning a comment from little Jasper, "You’re so dumb," the two kids went their separate ways, no big arguments arose between them.

Alice, exasperated, knocked her son on the head, saying, "You think everyone is like you, solving function problems like eating cabbage." This left Mabel laughing and crying.

It seemed that sometimes having a super-smart son could also be a headache. But she could tell that Alice’s little family had a very open-minded environment, which must bring a lot of fun into their everyday life.
