Death... and me

Chapter 4012: Who Else?

Chapter 4012: Who Else?

That one single truth opened a massive can of worms, especially for those who came from outside.

Why were the twins brought to the Werdlem Universe? They weren’t sure. There has never been an answer. All they knew was that the Soul Gem System had evolved to the Celestial Soul System, and the Destiny Attraction kept bringing them into many ridiculous situations.

However, it ultimately started a quest to find the Primordial Beasts... and free them! The quest had no time limit, but even though they tried to avoid getting involved in it, they still ended up meeting two Primordial Beasts. They already freed one, and the other should get free soon.

Was it the objective? Was it the reason? To free the Primordial Beasts? To find a way to make them exit the Werdlem Empire’s Bubble?

’Speak!’ Roan didn’t let the conversation end there. ’Are any of you involved with Soul Gem?’

-You told me about this Soul Gem before, but I genuinely know nothing about this guy.- Laiana said, and she wasn’t lying. The day the twins mentioned Soul Gem was the first time she heard that name.

’Same here,’ Xyrath followed. ’However... I am capable of making an educated gues-’

-Stop right there, Xyrath!- Laiana didn’t let Xyrath end his words.

’Sorry.’ Xyrath understood his mistake and fell silent.

That definitely didn’t feel good.

’I would ask what you are hiding, but something tells me you won’t say a single word, am I correct?’ Roan asked with a cold expression.

-Let me make one thing clear,- Laiana started. -Neither Xyrath nor I had anything to do with what happened to you. We didn’t know you guys before we met, nor that you would be coming at some point.-

’Hmph!’ Rean snorted. ’But you won’t deny that the reason for our presence in the Werdlem Empire is related to getting you bunch free, am I correct? At the very least, you won’t deny this possibility.’

Laiana and Xyrath didn’t say anything, but just like before, the silence told them what they needed.

Everything fell into place now.

The Soul Gem System was created by Soul Gem, and Soul Gem was related to Hex, the guy who brought the twins’ group to the Werdlem Universe.

The Celestial Soul System slowly but certainly led their group to the Primordial Beasts. They found out about Laiana and got her free. Found out about Xyrath, and will get him free. Then, they got information from Xyrath about Soltrex, and another update of the quest appeared, so they could set Soltrex free later on, too.

One thing was leading the other, but ultimately it was all about releasing the Primordial Beasts. Their gain in strength was always just the necessary amount to take part in whatever event that led to the release of a Primordial Beast.

Most likely, the next Primordial Beasts on the list would appear much faster, considering the twins’ group was already in the Middle Stage of the Divinity Realm.

There is also that so-called channel. The one that Kentucky’s parents are trying to create to connect to the Lisan Universe for Soul Gem. Was that also part of the plan? Part of what would help the twins’ group release all twelve Primordial Beasts in the Werdlem Empire? (Chapter 3736 - 3737)

There were more questions. Who was behind it all? If we think about it, the Lisan Universe has several overpowered artifacts called Werdlem Treasures. Were they left in Lisan on purpose? After all, that’s where Soul Gem created the Soul Gem System.

Was Soul Gem a Primordial Beast himself? If not, could it be that he was working for a Primordial Beast inside the Werdlem Empire?

What about Hyeoumu? Considering Hyeoumu’s size and strength, was he a Primordial Beast, too? Perhaps he is one of the ninety-nine Primordial Beasts of the Great Void. Only twelve of them are trapped inside the Werdlem Empire’s Bubble. The rest is still out. Maybe that was a plan from the Primordial Beasts outside to get their companions free? Or maybe it was a plan from someone inside?

Last but not least, there was Hex. What was Hex’s involvement with all of this? Too bad Xyrath and Laiana didn’t seem to know anyone like that. Well, it made sense. First of all, Hex was a name that Rean came up with. Hex himself never gave his real name. He was supposed to be an artifact spirit, but that was obviously a lie.

The twins’ group still tried to ask those questions to Xyrath and Laiana, but they didn’t answer anything. It was almost as if there was something... or someone who prevented them from commenting on these issues. Could such a being be the mastermind behind all of this?

’What are you going to do?’ Xyrath asked. Now that the truth was out, would the twins’ group still help him?

Roan and the others were still annoyed with that situation. However, they didn’t need to think twice. ’What else? We will get your ass out of the Future Realm, that’s what.’

Rean shrugged. ’The Celestial Points are way too good for us to give up now. However, don’t expect us to truly go and release the rest of you.’

Xyrath was relieved. ’That’s fine. Once I’m free, I can try to do things my own way.’

Kentucky couldn’t help but ask out of curiosity. ’Do you guys at least know who the twelve Primordial Beasts trapped inside the Werdlem Empire’s Bubble are?’

Roan intervened. ’Why would you care about that?’

’Why else?’ Kentucky sighed in response. ’I still believe the Destiny Attraction Shit will ultimately guide us to release the Primordial Beasts. If that really happens, it would be nice to know who we are dealing with.’

Roan pondered a bit and nodded. ’That’s indeed a good reason.’

Laiana was the first one to answer. -In my case, I don’t really know who else could be here. As you probably already noticed, it wasn’t before you told me about Xyrath’s existence that I found out he was one of the twelve.-

Xyrath did know one... actually two of them. ’I already mentioned one of them, Soltrex. Don’t ask me where he is, though. I have no idea. Similarly, I know of a second one who is also here in the Werdlem Empire. His name is Tharos, the Gravem Archon.’
