Chapter 3397: Near Impossible
Chapter 3397: Near Impossible
Kentucky flew and changed position nonstop, once again dodging the attacks. He began to feel like he had been doing this kind of thing a lot recently, and he wasn't very happy with it. Nonetheless, it was better than being hit by the Scaled Seals. Of course, Rean, Roan, Farlo, Duleti, and Gram were helping him fend off the attacks he couldn't dodge.
"Marvin," Duleti quickly spoke. "Since you guys can use your Pocket Dimensional Realms, can't we all flee inside?"
Rean glanced at Duleti in surprise. "Are you crazy? That would leave my Pocket Dimensional Realm's entrance right here for these Demon Beasts to attack. Come on, you are a Space Bending Realm expert. You know what it means to get your Pocket Dimensional Realm destroyed from the outside because you are hiding in it."
"Shit..." Duleti could only agree with Rean there. It's just that she had really forgotten that part. Suppose the Pocket Dimensional Realm's owner flees inside while leaving the entrance behind for others to see. In that case, anyone can attack it, which is the same as attacking the person's Pocket Dimensional Realm directly.
The owner might be a god inside his own Pocket Dimensional Realm, but from the outside, it is extremely fragile. That's why anyone entering their Pocket Dimensional Realms would usually do it in safe places, like cities, hotels with protection formations, hidden locations, and things like that.
In any case, if the Pocket Dimensional Realm is destroyed, so is everything found inside it. Probably only Space-Time Realm and above experts would survive it since they can travel through space with their abilities and resist the Spatial Powers in there.
Still, their problem persisted. The Scaled Seals kept coming and going, always opening breaches in space far enough that the twins' group couldn't get near before it closed.
"This is not working. We will eventually get hit by one of their attacks," Gram complained, using his sword's energy to block another one of those Seals.
Roan ignored him and focused on those Ice Claws from the Seals. Every time a breach in space was opened, those claws were there. The Scaled Seals didn't seem to be able to use anything else to open them. "Those claws are the key, but why...?" He commented to everyone.
Those words reminded Rean of something. "Back when we arrived at this continent, the formations guild said that they didn't have long-distance teleport formations that could get us past the Glacial Corridor during the Overflow. They said that space was a mess in this place and that trying such a thing would be suicide. Could this be related?"
Kentucky's eyes lit up, and he focused even more deeply on those Scaled Seal's Ice Claws than Roan did. Even though those Ice Claws seemed to have some power to rip space apart, they simply didn't appear in his Natural Spatial Perception, let alone in the others. Soon, he understood why. "So that's how it is."
Kentucky then contacted Rean and Roan only. 'It's the Ice Element! The Elemental Power in those claws is so strong that it suppresses the claws' Spatial Fluctuations. That's why, even though we know they are ripping space, we can't notice it with our Natural Spatial Senses.'
'Elemental Space Realm...' Roan quickly caught the issue. 'The cultivation realm that comes after Space Bending is all about the ability to merge your own Elemental Affinity with the Spatial Powers that you can control. These beasts are doing it to an even greater level. It's their innate ability.'
Roan completely changed his view this time. He used his Yin Energy Perception, which was the best one could find. Since the Ice Element was covering up the Spatial Powers that ripped space, then he was certain of one thing. The Ice Element of those Ice Claws must appear first before the claw manifests itself and rips space for the Scaled Seal to appear. It's just that the natural freezing energy of this place hides the Ice Claws' Ice Element very, very well.
Roan still doesn't know how it allows those Scaled Seals to travel behind the fabric of space, but as long as he could tell where they would appear, they could retaliate.
Roan closed his eyes, focusing on the Yin Energy in the surroundings, using his Divine Sense to just a few kilometers range. His Divine Sense could go much further than that, but he wanted to guarantee he wouldn't miss anything, so he limited its range to a small area. Then, his eyes moved in a specific direction, quickly ordering Kentucky. 'There!'
Kentucky immediately changed direction, moving like lightning to the location Roan pointed out.
*Zrash!*
Sure enough, space ripped apart, and the Scaled Seal appeared, already with its mouth full of that deep blue freezing light. Too bad! When the light from outside reached its eyes, it was shocked to see Roan right in front of it, his scythe coming down at full force! "Hmph! Seems like you can't communicate with your friends while traveling behind the fabric of space. Otherwise, they would have warned you of our movements."
'Death Style, Death Scythe!'
Dark Red Lightning danced with Scythe True Intent and Sky Energy!
*Swish!*
The Death Scythe's Energy cut through the Scales of the Seal, and the Dark Red Lightning and the Dark Element spread through the Seal's head, which was split open! Roan immediately jumped back following that attack as all that freezing energy the Seal had accumulated exploded.
Its entire body froze in place, but it didn't even matter anymore. Roan's previous attack had already killed it. "Seems like the only truly resistant thing in this Waterdog are its Ice Claws. Its body is also hard due to its scales, but nothing we can't pierce through with a little bit of effort."
Kentucky quickly pulled Roan to his back as he flew by. That was already the death of the second Scaled Seal, and the remaining ones got even more furious.
Rean looked at those Seals, who came out of space, seemingly giving up using the hide-and-seek trick anymore. "That's better. At least now we know there are only eight of them remaining."
Roan lifted his scythe forward, pointing at them. "Let's get over with it."
*ORT!*
Yet, at that very moment, a powerful bark that shook the heavens echoed in the surroundings. Then, the huge Scaled Seal, the same one that destroyed the ships, materialized, coming out of the fabric of space and landing in between the twins' group and the Scaled Seals.
Roan narrowed his eyes, the cultivation of the Demon Beast obvious. 'It truly is a Divinity Realm one...'
Rean bitterly smiled. 'I told you, didn't I?'
Well, its cultivation didn't matter. What mattered was what they would do now. Flee from a Divinity Realm Demon Beast with their strength? That was a near-impossible mission.
