Death... and me

Chapter 3388: Resistant Snow

Chapter 3388: Resistant Snow

'Don't even think about it,' Roan warned Rean from inside the Dimensional Realm. 'Getting out of this place has to be your main priority.'

Rean sighed, seeing more of the experts in the Space-Bending Realm freezing completely. 'I understand.'

However, he didn't give up completely. Instead, he spread his Divine Sense and sent a message to everyone in its range. 'If any of you have anything capable of providing Starlight Energy, I can help you go out of this place. Otherwise, I can only take my leave with my friends.'

Several eyes turned in Rean's direction, surprised someone was being able to resist the Freezing Energy with such low cultivation. However, they all gritted their teeth, while some even sent Divine Sense messages back to Rean, begging for help. In the end, none of them had Starlight Energy to offer. Starlight Energy cultivations were more common in the Werdlem Empire, but it didn't mean you could find one at every turn. Farlo appearing here was already quite an unlikely event to happen most times.

In the end, Rean patted Kentucky's back, and the Minokawa flew into the distance.

Kentucky tried to fly close to the ground so he could at least see it with his Divine Sense. The Deep Blue Clouds made it too hard to see with the naked eye.

*Zum!*

Suddenly, Kentucky flapped his wings in another direction, disappearing from his location in an instant. Another ray of freezing light passed right where he was, diving into the deep blue clouds behind after missing its target. "Those things are quite fast. Do you think we are being purposely targeted?"

Rean pondered a bit and nodded. "Perhaps not purposely, but still being targeted nonetheless. I think they work more like lightning during storms. They simply try to reach the path of least resistance, and since we are flying within the clouds, we are acting quite like magnets to them. If it was on purpose, it wouldn't be just one of them every once in a while but all of them at once."

"I see..." Kentucky nodded and continued to fly.

However, he wasn't able to go much further. It wasn't that he didn't want to, but that the Freezing Energy began to increase even more. "It's starting to get difficult to drive all the Freezing Energy out of our bodies. We better stop for a moment so I can recover my Sky Energy."

Rean didn't mind, and their group returned to the ground. In the next moment, Rean used his power to open a huge hole, which everyone jumped inside before the hole was covered on top with snow. At least that way, they didn't need to bear the full power of the outside storm of blue clouds and freezing energy.

Gram and the others sat on the ground while Rean used a little bit of his Light Element to illuminate the area. "Casper, you go ahead and use the rest of the bead Farlo gave us. You will need it a lot more than I will."

Kentucky grabbed the bead from Rean's hand, which only had half of its Starlight Energy remaining. Rean could absorb it and transfer to Kentucky, but it would be better for Kentucky to do it himself and redirect the energy as he sees fit.

Farlo approached the two, asking in curiosity. "What kind of cultivation technique do you use, Marvin? It gives me the sensation of being similar to Casper, but Demon Beasts don't have cultivation techniques. Did you use Casper's natural cultivation ability to create your own?"

Rean pondered a bit and smiled, confirming Farlo's words. "You could say that. Why? There are a lot of cultivation techniques based on the natural cultivation ability of Demon Beasts, you know?"

"Of course I know that!" Farlo quickly agreed. "It's just that Starlight Energy cultivations are pretty rare, so I got curious. Above all, the energy you produce seems completely different from the one I use. My Starlight Energy is just that, Starlight Energy, but this light blue energy of yours is a different story."

"It is different indeed," Rean didn't deny it. "That's kind of a mix of Divine Energy and Starlight Energy. Don't try to copy it, though. As a Spirit, you have a very specific type of cultivation, so you might actually receive a big backlash if you try to do the same as me or Casper." Still, Rean hid the Soul Power part of the equation.

Farlo knew to not try what Rean said. "Don't worry, I'm aware." He then looked upwards, where the entrance Rean covered earlier with snow was located. "Any idea what is happening here? What was that monster earlier? It even looks like it is blocking all of our Pocket Dimensional Realms..."

Rean, Kentucky, Gram, and Duleti shook their heads. "If we knew what it was, we wouldn't have come here in the first place."

"It does look like a Demon Beast, though," Duleti added.

"Are you sure?" Gram had his doubts. "Can Demon Beasts block Pocket Dimensional Realms like it is doing now? I would risk saying it is a Spirit."

"It's definitely a Demon Beast," Kentucky corrected Gram. "When it appeared, I felt its bloodline and aura. That was not a Spirit nor a member of the Humanoid Races."

"I see..." Gram didn't doubt Kentucky. "You are a Divine Demon Beast, right? I can't believe you aren't after showing such strength."

"That I am," Kentucky knew it was meaningless to hide that information. Well, he wasn't really a Divine Demon Beast... but he wouldn't correct Gram there. "It was one of the reasons I could tell that the monster earlier was a Demon Beast. Its bloodline was on par with me."

Well, that much was a lie from Kentucky. The bloodline he felt was strong, but it wasn't at the Regal Level. Not to mention that Kentucky's bloodline is even higher than that, at the Celestial Level.

They continued to discuss their theories, and just ten minutes later, Kentucky got up again, now with his body full of Sky Energy to use. "Alright, this is enough. Let's continue."

Gram raised his hand. "This little hole Marvin opened is isolating quite a bit of the Freezing Energy from those Deep Blue Clouds. Wouldn't it be better for us to stay here for a few years and then come out when the phenomenon ends or at least reduces in strength?"

Rean and Kentucky shook their heads. "We don't have that time in our hands. However, if you guys wish, we can leave you all here. Just dig a bigger and deeper hole and cover the entrance."

"Forget it..." Gram gave up that idea almost instantly. What if the freezing energy appears with full power at some point where not even the holes could help? Then he wouldn't have Rean and Kentucky there to help him.

Rean laughed a little, knowing what Gram was thinking. Then, he looked up, fueled his fist with Divine Energy, and punched out.

*BOOM!*

The entire confinement trembled, and a burst of Divine Energy spread inside. However, Rean's mouth twitched. "Since when is snow that resistant?"

The power he punched out just now should have been enough to blast the cover of snow away with ease. Yet, all that was left was a little mark, and no exit appeared. They were trapped...

And as always, any Golden Tickets and Stones are welcome. ;)
