Death... and me

Chapter 3387: What About Them?

Chapter 3387: What About Them?

Slowly, a little floating being came in their direction. It was deep blue in color, contrasting quite well with the environment. It also had two small horns of the same color and long, silky and fluffy hair. All in all, he was kinda cute.

"Farlo!" Duleti and Gram obviously recognized him since they were from the same group. "What do you mean you can help?"

Kentucky and Rean looked at the little guy, feeling like they had seen him before. 'Oh! I remember him. He arrived with us in the city through the same teleport formation.' Rean commented to Kentucky through their Divine Senses.

Farlo looked in Rean's direction, having problems with speech. Not that he couldn't talk, but that he found it hard to even open his mouth right now due to the freezing energy.

Rean understood that and approached the guy, putting a hand on his body. After sending his Sky Energy and Light Element inside, he also drove the Freezing Energy out of that little being's body. "You should be fine now."

"Thank you... I was truly at my limit here..." The little guy spoke. "I'm Farlo, a member of the Yortin Race from Doromandel Continent, a Spirit. Our race just so happens to have Water Element Affinity and cultivates with Starlight Energy. If Starlight Energy is what you need to keep the Freezing Energy away from us, then I can definitely provide it."

As Rean and Roan noticed before, Starlight Energy cultivation was a lot more common in this Universe. Still, Rean had his doubts. "Can you? Just so you know, Starlight Energy from someone else's body is incompatible with other experts. If you are talking about Starlight Energy in your core, then it won't be of much use to us."

Farlo had a bracelet on his little arm, which he touched for a moment, and a small bead appeared. It didn't look anything special at first, but Rean could tell. "Pure Starlight Energy..."

Farlo nodded. "These are very, very hard to make. A single one of these beads takes over ten years of dedication to make, so my Yortin Race only gives two or three of them to its members every hundred years. If this wasn't an emergency, I definitely wouldn't give it away. Is this enough to help us?"

Rean collected the bead from Farlo's hand. The Starlight Energy there was very concentrated, equivalent to twenty or so of their smallest Starlight Crystals in the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. 'The system could have told us about these beads. Perhaps it would have been a lot safer to reach for Farlo's race,' Rean commented.

Roan didn't think so, though. 'Ask him where he came from and why.'

Rean got confused, but he asked nonetheless. "Where are you coming from? And why? You are truly far away from your Doromandel Continent." Rean knew where it was located. It was closer than the Divine Snow Mountain, but still not the kind of trip someone would take without a very good reason.

Farlo didn't deny that. "Have you heard about the Mist Library? Forget it. You probably didn't since the information regarding it was being concealed. Anyway, you don't need to know what it is. What you need to know is that I managed to get some information through the black market that you could acquire a lot of Starlight Crystals there. Our Starlight Beads are just too hard to make, and absorbing Starlight Energy normally is very slow."

"So, everyone in my race is constantly looking for other sources of Starlight Energy, but they are just too damn rare. That's why I went there. To my dismay, as soon as I arrived, the Mist Library had just disappeared, and all the Starlight Crystals were already swept. Now, I'm on a sad journey back home with empty hands. Since I was passing by the Corridor and my race has Water Element Affinity, I decided I might as well disembark here and cultivate to give some meaning to this journey. I never expected the Freezing Energy of this place to have ramped up so much in such a short time."

Rean's mouth twitched, but Roan didn't seem surprised. Although Roan wasn't certain, the Doromandel Continent was just too far in the opposite direction. For a race with Starlight Energy as the main source of cultivation to come here, it most likely could only have been the Mist Library's fault.

"Ahem..." Rean pretended to be sorry for the guy. "Too bad you didn't manage to acquire the Starlight Crystals..." which Rean had tens of thousands inside the Dimensional Realm. He also understood why the system didn't mention Farlo's race. In the end, since even Farlo had to go out to look for other sources, it was obvious that not many of those beads were available, so going after Farlo's race wouldn't be of much use.

Farlo sighed and shook his head. "It's fine. We are already used to fall for these situations. Starlight Energy Sources are rare, so they are also highly coveted. This wasn't the first time, nor will it be the last that I made a journey for nothing... as long as I don't die here, of course."

Rean then clenched the bead, nodding at Farlo. "Very well. I will make good use of this bead."

Following that, Rean absorbed the Starlight Energy of the bead, sharing it between him and Kentucky. Obviously, he didn't send any to Roan since Roan didn't need it. At the very least, Roan didn't have a reason to complain anymore. They were using Farlo's Starlight Energy.

Rean jumped back on Kentucky's back, inviting Gram, Duleti, and Farlo. "Come on. Get up here. Farlo's bead will help, but its concentrated Starlight Energy won't last forever. I'll bring you as far as I can until we use all of the Starlight Energy from Farlo's bead."

Farlo glanced at Gram and Duleti, the meaning in his eyes obvious. That was his bead, his Starlight Energy. Why should he share it with those two? But then again, Rean was 'friends' with Gram and Duleti, not him... or so he believes. If Farlo told Rean to not use his Starlight Energy on them, would Rean still help him? He didn't want to risk saying that. It's just that Farlo at least wanted some compensation.

"Ahem..." Duleti and Gram understood that. "We don't have Starlight Beads or anything like that, but we do have some Divine Stones. Is it okay if we give them to you to pay for the usage of your bead?"

Farlo's expression quickly improved. "Now, that's more like it. Sure, we can discuss the price on the way. Let's get out of here."

Rean felt like laughing, but Farlo indeed had the right to ask for compensation. There was only one thing... What about the rest of the survivors?

And as always, any Golden Tickets and Stones are welcome. ;)
