Chapter 1937: Voidwalkers (Part 2)
Chapter 1937: Voidwalkers (Part 2)
……
“Fortunately, the experts on our sides are very powerful, giving us the strength to push the opposing side back into the depths of the Forbidden Valley,” said Benedict.
“During the most desperate time, the tribes with the most ancient histories and hidden clans finally made their move and joined the battle, giving our side a much stronger fighting force.”
“They fully understood the threat that these Voidwalkers pose to all of us, which was why they did not spare any effort when they joined the battlefield.”
“It was also at this time that some of the Demonic Practitioners cleared their names. Most of them fought the bravest at the frontline, taking the lead when slaughtering those Voidwalkers and Remnants.”
With a sigh, he continued. “This war lasted much shorter than the previous one, but it was much more intense in comparison.”
“A lot of experts have fallen during that war, but multiple heroes have emerged as well. Some of these heroes are from our Magic Ace Academy, and the most famous one is Sir Manuel Morales, the Undefeatable General.”
Benedict paused for a moment before turning to Shin. “There are also the Thousand Arms Demon Asura, Elder Ryong.”
“Professor Plum and Grandmaster Benn have also made their names in that battlefield as well, albeit briefly, because they immediately left the main battlefield for some other mission.”
Shin, who was listening attentively, could not help but wear a weird expression on his face, especially after hearing those words.
’Three of them are my teachers,’ he thought while doing his best to suppress the twitching of his lips.
In the meantime, Arthur, Leonard, Cloe, and Lorraine, who were aware of Shin’s situation, could not help but turn to him simultaneously and give him meaningful looks.
Shin ignored them and continued to listen to Benedict.
“With the lead of these heroes, our side managed to push those Voidwalkers and the rest of those Remnants back at the Forbidden Valley, which lasted for a few more years before they fully retreated beyond it.”
“Sixty years ago, we finally managed to win that hard-fought battle.”
“However, we still can’t let our guards down because some of those tribes managed to run away and scatter in different corners of the world.”
“Even if the World Government is keeping an eye on them all around the world, some of them are still able to hide tracks and integrate themselves into our society.”
Reaching this point, Benedict wore a strange expression as he added. “Some of them are even able to live like a real human and create their own family.”
The team was unable to catch the strange tone that Benedict had when saying the latter part of his words because he hid it too well, and due to their focusing on different thoughts they had.
After a while, Molton raised his doubts. “Then what about those Clans and Tribes that betrayed humanity?”
Benedict pursed his lips as he answered. “We naturally can’t spare them. Annihilation of their entire lineage is not even enough to pay for their crimes.”
“Unfortunately, the most powerful ones among them retreated into the Forbidden Valley along with most of the Voidwalkers and Remnants.”
“They had even captured more women during their retreat, which is very infuriating,” he added while gritting his teeth.
It took him a while to calm himself before he could continue. “When everything settled, some of the ancient tribes and families chose to station themselves in the Forbidden Valley and built villages there to keep guard against those Voidwalkers.”
“The rest of them, on the other hand, went back to their respective homelands.”
Benedict chatted with them for a bit more until there were only a few minutes before they went back to the stage and performed.

In the meantime, the clash between the side of the Black Serpent Mafia and the World Government outside the city was slowly growing intense.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Explosions and gunshots continuously rang in the forest, making it quite ’lively’ as well.
Belladonna, who was leading the operation on this side, could not help but curse after realizing that there was no hope of continuing the trade given the current situation. “D*mn those dogs of the government! How the hell have they sniffed us?”
She then turned to the subordinate beside her and asked. “Have we identified which unit they come from?”
“They are from the Bulldog Squad, Ma’am Belladonna,” reported the subordinate almost instantly.
“Are there any signs of any other elite units?” she asked while flicking her wrist, sending the head of a nearby soldier flying with her whip.
“Fortunately, our contacts have informed us that their elite unit is putting more focus on chasing after the members of the Voidwalker Tribe,” answered the subordinate.
“As long as it is not the True Order, everything will be fine,” she nodded before giving her orders. “Go with the others and secure the package. There is no point in continuing this trade now.”
She paused for a moment before continuing. “You guys use the secondary route and head back to the city. Sneak through the gap that we have created ahead of time.”
“And make sure to release the Artificial Mutants to create more chaos. Since those dogs of the government want a fight, then we will give them one.”
“Also, send a quarter of them to the Sun-Moon City. Let me see if those dogs have the time to deal with us if we target their citizens.”
“You guys take advantage of the chaos to hide at the safe house,” she added before disappearing.
A moment later, she appeared in the middle of the ranks of the opposing side, catching them off guard.
“It’s the Witch!”
When one of their comrades shouted, the rest of the unit immediately pointed their guns at Belladonna, planning to fire at her from every direction.
But how could such attacks harm someone like her, who was at the Domain Realm?
With a smile, she snapped her fingers, making the surrounding trees move. The nature seemed to have obeyed her orders and moved its lives to execute them.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
The roots of the trees suddenly moved and struck the bodies of the soldiers, piercing through them like sharp objects. They punctured holes in the bodies of the soldiers, killing them in the process.
The surrounding vines moved as well and wrapped themselves around the bodies of these humans. The bodies of these soldiers were either twisted in weird angles, snapping their bones, or crushed by the tightened coiling of those vines.
While Belladonna was slaughtering these soldiers, the scouts of the Magic Ace Academy had seen what was happening and realized that the situation was getting worse.
Dominic, a member of the Sleeping Dragons, wore a solemn expression and issued a command quite decisively. “Retreat! Retreat! There is a Domain Realm Expert on the opposing side who majored in wood manipulation! This forest is her home ground!”
The team did not even hesitate after hearing his words and quickly moved. They quickly turned around and swiftly ran back to the city.
Belladonna, who was expanding her senses, immediately spotted them and smirked. “Trying to run? That is not going to be easy.”
She waved her hand and manipulated the trees around the group, planning to trap them.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
However, before those trees could even do anything against them, two figures had already made their moves.
Dominic extended his hands outwards and conjured a pair of swords with his Natural Force before grabbing them.
This ’Natural Force’ seemed to be different from the regular ones because they contained immense destructive force that seemed to be associated with evil energy.
His sickly complexion seemed to turn even worse, making his face look paler. But he ignored all these and suddenly swung his swords multiple times, cutting all the surrounding trees.
Right after being sliced by his strange swords, those trees seemed to wither at a rapid pace. Moreover, this withering had swiftly spread like a plague, infecting more trees around the group.
Due to the withering trees, Belladonna’s connection with them was instantly cut, making her squint her eyes. “The energy of plague and decay?”
Whoosh!
At the same time, the other person, who moved alongside Dominic, had also produced a similarly disturbing result.
Belladonna saw a person in a sleeping bag, who was being carried beside Dominic. This person pointed in her direction as if moving in their sleep. This seemingly casual and ordinary action had forcefully attracted her attention without her knowledge.
Then she suddenly felt that her mind felt relaxed, making her slowly close her eyes.
It only took her an instant to realize that there was something wrong, and she swiftly snapped herself away by force.
Shocked quickly washed over her expression while looking at that person. “What a powerful mind plague.”
She could tell that the other party was just a Mentalist who recently broke through the Ruler’s Realm; their mentalism prowess shouldn’t be that powerful to affect the mind of an expert of her level, yet that person still managed to influence her mind despite the huge gap in their strength.
She was one of the strongest Domain Realm Experts of the Black Serpent Mafia, rivaling geniuses of her generation, such as Nathan and the others.
She then further squinted her eyes and looked at the retreating back of the group, focusing her gaze on Dominic and Mahon.
“Who are these brats?”
They had already created enough distance away from her, escaping the range of her domain. It was pointless to chase after them now, especially when she could feel that the top experts of the World Government and the local forces of the Sun-Moon City heading her way.
She took note of the two brats that managed to hinder her moves before turning around.
