Chapter 173: My Wife Has To Stop Some Illegal Activities.
Celia: “…”
Now, with her daughter settled, Celia was able to move on to that important task of hers. It was actually a pretty big… issue, you see. Someone has been selling Soul Crystals, counterfeit ones.
Celia wisely has a marking system in place, each Soul Crystal that she releases into the market is secretly labeled via Pure Mana. As such, it was very easy for her to tell that… the crystals before her right now were absolutely fake; crushed, pressed, and formed to look like her Soul Crystals; feint traces of the originals within them.
Ria: “I’ve test some of them already, Celia. They do work, but are about less than 1% effective as the genuine ones. They’re honestly quite sensible for Mortals to use.” She explained, shifting her hand through the box of the false Soul Crystals, over hundred of them inside.
Celia: “Hm… They bought real Soul Crystals, crushed them up, and reformed new crystals with normal Mana, sparse Divinity, and a very little amount of the original Soul Crystals. Frustratingly… this is quite clever.” She replied with a groan, pained that she didn’t think of doing the same thing on her own.
Celia now knew that she had been too shortsighted, only caring about Higher Beings, not the Mortals; perhaps even the weaker Higher Beings, as well. She has long since prided herself on not having the same morals… or lack of morals like most Higher Beings posses.
Of course, Celia didn’t really care about profits, nor was she upset that someone else was making income off her creation. Rather, the real issue… is that these counterfeit weren’t the best, quality wise, given how hard it is to make one. As such… there were some side effects, mainly…
Cough!
Celia: “Ria!” She exclaimed, grabbing hold of her wife, helping her spit out more blood.
Ria: “I-I’m fine, dear. I wasn’t aware that spitting up blood after using some of those crystals… would be a prolonged thing.” She replied with an embarrassed sigh.
Celia: “…”
Worried, Celia felt up Ria’s pelvis, hand right above her womb (where Divinity and Mana pool for females), finding her Divinity and Mana in turmoil. With her special body, and control over Mana, pure or otherwise, Celia was able to rid her wife of the side effect in just a few seconds.
Yes, this was the problem with the counterfeits, major health risks. If it caused someone of Ria’s power to spit up blood, and be in such pain… the negative side effects are surely not pleasant for Mortals, either. Perhaps it could even kill them, we have no idea of the true dangers just yet…
Ria: “You… healed me. How?” She asked with a deeply curious tone and expression.
Celia: “Your Mana and Divinity was clashing with the Mana and Divinity from those fake crystals, helped with a tiny bit of Pure Mana, causing the health issue. I simply had to put them all into order, so that your body wouldn’t be constantly injured anymore.” She explained with a thinking pose.
Ria: “But… why? The bad side effects, I mean. What’s different between the fakes and your Soul Crystals?” She added, doing her own thinking pose.
Celia: “Eh, typical, black market quality control problems.” She answered with a shrugging giggle.
Ria: “( ? _ ? )”
