Volume 10. Chapter 105: She Wasn’t Ready For This! (Chapter 1006)
Chapter 105: She Wasn't Ready For This!
June: “…”
Celia: “Why’re you so quiet? I said that we were hunting, but I didn’t mean it in a literal sense, silly.” She asked with a light tone.
June: “Shouldn’t we… be looking for women in Home? Going to a random Dimension for this is… a bit absurd, you know. This… is a fantasy Dimension…” She answered with an awkward tone.
When her mother mentioned going out, June envisioned spending time in Home’s main city; rather than going on an unannounced, mother-daughter adventure like this. Looking for a mortal woman… well, June wasn’t ageist at all.
Though, she did consider herself to be older, and June didn’t really know if she could get with a mortal, even if they were an adult. However, in Celia’s (wonderful) mind, age gaps between adults doesn’t really matter, especially if they’re supposed destined lovers. She thought this prior to becoming a Higher Being, so her this was skewed even further in her mind.
Celia: “June, if your wife was to be found in Home, then you’d have already been married by now, without my help. Also, your sisters romance partners are all their soulmates. Honestly, they got a quite lucky with finding them living in Home.” She explained with an overly confident, and boasting tone.
June: “Eeeeh? They didn’t tell me that!” She replied with a deeply shocked tone and expression.
Celia: “The others didn’t want to upset you, so it was kept a secret. Anyway, just trust your dearest mother, as my win rate for matchmaking is 100%, and always has been!” She clarified with a smile, still holding the girl’s hand.
June: “…”
Celia: “Aw, don’t be so despondent. Go along with my whims, and soon… you’ll have a soft wife to cuddle as you please!” She added with a cheeky tone, forcing her daughter to actually show her emotions, making the girl’s face to (due note: June is an adult, so her being like this is very, very funny) blush into a red mess.
June: “(/ />/ _ /</ /)”
A Month Later!
Yes, that cut away is accurate. An entire month, all spent on searching for June’s destined beloved… To be fair, neither of them complained about this, not even slightly.
For Higher Beings, let alone those who live in Home, a month was nothing. The potential complaints from June, and from our group, would only come if Celia kept this up for more than 10 years or so…
June: “Celia… we’ve just been merely walking around place after place. How exactly can we find an unknown person… while not staying somewhere for more than an hour or two?” She asked with an unsure and confused tone.
Celia: “Pick out a random girl you like, and I’m sure they’ll be quickly convinced to love or marry you. But why bother with that? A normal relationship, a common, everyday love? No, not for my family. Don’t underestimate my methods!” She replied with a slightly lecturing tone.
June: “…”
Celia: “Dear, Vulely can’t hear your thoughts, so you aren’t adding anything by being silent. Can’t you please ask me what my methods are?” She pleaded with an awkward expression, for some reason… helping me out with my job.
June: “Ah, sorry. But, mother… I feel like your methods, once explained, will be utterly frustrating, or equally absurd, while also somehow going to stupidly work out for me in the end. None of us have yet to recover from the last batch of grand absurd revelations from you…” She replied with a completely deadpan tone and expression.
