Chapter 3974 - A Gentleman Doesn’t Go Back on His Word
Chapter 3974 - A Gentleman Doesn’t Go Back on His Word
Tianming felt utter bliss at hearing the words, but they were nightmarish to the wonderians.
"Split up!" Shiming Yisheng roared, finally understanding the karmic nature of the Heavenly Dao. The young cosmic gods from the Primordial Sands had begged for mercy and tried fleeing by splitting up, yet the wonderians had ruthlessly pursued them. The greater the gap in power, the smaller the chance of survival!
The wonderians immediately used their divine wonders to protect themselves as they fled in all directions. They had reacted fast enough that most should be able to more or less get away, but the girl and her taotie vanished from Tianming's side, turning into storms of black and gold that swept past all the caverns around them, applying her terrifying pressure on the young wonderians.
Only then did Shiming Yisheng finally notice the terrible truth. "The Heavenly Dao didn't smite her! She hasn't reached five hundred years old!"
The realization made the wonderians panic even more, a stark contrast compared to their self-assured former selves. A gigantic universe was bearing down on them from behind.
"No!" He turned back in a snap only for the huge paw of the beast to send his body flying before exploding into fireworks, reverting to its essence form. Though he had survived, he’d lost his ability to flee!
More and more explosions echoed around them as he watched the other wonderians being slaughtered one after the other. They didn't even manage to get far—the girl in black was simply too fast!
If we die here, half of the young talent of the Saturatia Wondersky will be wiped out! The moment he thought that, it felt like his innards were being torn apart. Yet another loud explosion rang out.
Before ten seconds had even passed, Tianming noticed that the fight was over. The girl's overwhelming might had reduced all the wonderians into cosmic god essences, though they were all still alive and howling nonstop in panic. She's an imperial-class genius! She can easily take care of cosmic gods from the Ten Desolate Starforges! The wonderians panicked even more at the thought, but being reduced to essence form was only the beginning. The girl quickly rounded them all up and prepared to kill them for good.
"Wait, don't kill them yet," Tianming said, his words bringing the wonderians new hope.
"That's right. We can still negotiate." Shiming Yisheng was thankful that Tianming would put a stop to it.
"What’re you talking about?" Tianming smirked. "Big Sister, let me take care of this dirty business of killing them."
Shiming Yisheng would vomit blood if he could.
The girl looked at him with some doubt. "Are you sure you can?"
"Of course!" Tianming knew that she would be so forceful that the essences would be completely destroyed, but he could use Bai Ye and Bai Ling to surgically kill them and retain the divine wonders and caeli within the wonders instead. The hundred cosmic god essences would be absolutely beneficial to Moran, and he wouldn't waste even a single one of them after making such a heavy promise. The girl in black hadn't confiscated his ninelives fruits and had even given him a cosmic art, so he believed that she had a decent impression of him.
As expected, she didn't seem to mind. "Alright, do it your way." She waved at her skyeater taotie, whose roar shook the Ninelives Cave in its entirety. It almost looked like every one of the beastfaces on its body was alive. Someone like her would be like a beastmaster with ninety lifebound beasts, if one used the metric of the Lower Star Ruins.
"Give them to him," she said to the taotie. The beast spat out the essence of Shiming Yishi, which was riddled with thousands of holes and a far cry from the pristine essence of Shiming Yisheng. Her consciousness was already at the brink of death. Both of the seventh-level cosmic-god essences would be incredibly useful.
The girl sternly looked at Tianming and said, "You’ll firmly remember your promise, right?"
Tianming nodded. "Of course. My words weren’t uttered lightly."
"Do you know the kind of people I hate the most?"
"Pray tell, Big Sister."
"Liars who spout empty promises!" She looked down on Tianming from on high with her deep, black eyes, applying pressure all over his body. "If I find that you’re one of them, not only will our kind not become your friends, we’ll become the enemy of you and all who stand with you!"
"Understood! A gentleman doesn’t go back on his word," Tianming said.
"You consider yourself a gentleman?" She seemed to look down on him for his diminutive size, treating him like a mere child.
"I may not be one yet, but that day will come in the future," Tianming said with a calm look of assurance. He wasn't being boastful at all.
She didn't seem to want to linger on the topic. "Next time, don't call for me when there’s many people around. We’re still waiting for the right moment, so being exposed too soon will cause huge trouble. Don't go running headfirst into trouble while you're here.
"The right moment? Big Sister, can you tell me what your plans are? Don't worry, I won't cause trouble. I'll even contribute."
"You? Forget it!" She didn't even bid him goodbye as she headed toward the door, but she didn't leave. Instead, she sat down and hugged her legs, intent on seeing what Tianming planned to do about the wonderians. Their conversation had been a secret and the wonderians hadn’t heard any of it, nor did Jiang Lincheng and the rest. In fact, they were even more stunned than the wonderians and didn't even know how they had survived. They were among the youngest cosmic gods of the Primordial Sands, but the girl in black was essentially a godlike existence to them.
