Chapter 1234: Ten Years
The Rosecloud Domain streaked like a comet through the endless expanse.
Countless shuttles were going in and out of the Rosecloud Domain, heading to nearby domains, planetoids, or Void Behemoths to mine or hunt for resources.
The years of development had made the Rosecloud Domain immense in size while also extremely organized. It was a vast and intricate machine, every sect and every cultivator having their place, bringing order and discipline to this enormous organization.
The concept of the Basking Moon Sect had ceased to be important, and been replaced by the greater concept of the Rosecloud cultivator.
It was this concept, this ideal that made all the cultivators of the Rosecloud Domain stand together.
Horizon Ocean Pavilion.
This divine palace treasure, once located in the southern seas of Rosecloud, had now been moved to Heavenly Pillar Mountain, beneath Starsnatch Pagoda.
What was once the headquarters of Horizon Ocean Pavilion had been converted into the meeting place of the Rosecloud Domain’s Elder Council.
The Elder Council was divided into a great council and a small council. All cultivators who reached Immortal Platform would automatically become a member of the Elder Council, and the Rosecloud Domain currently had 142 Elders.
Yes, the Rosecloud Domain’s strength had tripled over the years.
But the small council consisted of only seven people, and its members were chosen based on their ability to govern, not their cultivation. The great council elected the members of the small council once every ten years as standing elders. The seven standing elders of the standing council managed everyday operations, and they were only answerable to Tang Jie.
In the Hall of Mystery, Xu Miaoran was organizing the information from Starsnatch Pagoda.
As the chief elder of the standing council, Xu Miaoran had many more responsibilities than the others.
“Guangling Island will become a new node of the orbital domain formation. Move out all the island residents within ten days and make preparations for the installation…
“One Void Behemoth has appeared in the direction of the Violet Bamboo Heaven. Have Elders Vermillion Bird and Yiyi kill it and bring it back.”
Xu Miaoran issued orders as she went through the reports.
In a cave estate on Heavenly Pillar Mountain, Yiyi opened her eyes and smiled. “I finally have a mission? Thank goodness! I’ve been so bored lately. Stony, let’s go.”
There was a rumbling as a stone giant emerged: the Mother Cloud combat puppet.
After advancing to Boundless, Tang Jie handed complete ownership of the combat puppet to Yiyi, and this alone was enough for Yiyi to be the strongest among the Earth Immortals.
As Yiyi ascended into space, there was already a woman in a red dress waiting for her: the Vermillion Bird.
“Sister Vermillion Bird.” Yiyi laughed and flew over.
The Vermillion Bird elegantly smiled back. Her appearance was as youthful as it was back in the hidden realm, but her mind was greatly matured, no longer so simple and pure.
She nodded at Yiyi. “You’re here.”
She flew into the distance without another word.
Yiyi stomped her feet. “Sister Vermillion Bird is getting more and more boring, not like you, Stony.”
The Mother Cloud combat puppet blinked its eyes.
Yiyi grinned. “That’s what I’m saying! You’re way more interesting than her. At least you know how to praise me.”
The Vermillion Bird looked back at her. “It’s because you never grow up.”
Yiyi’s face darkened. “What’s so good about growing up?”
The two flew off into the distance.
Earth Immortals could easily cross tens of thousands of kilometers in an instant within the void.
They soon saw a massive rhino-shaped Void Behemoth in the distance.
This Void Behemoth was around five thousand kilometers long, so enormous that it could only be properly seen from a distance. Thus, though it seemed close, it was actually still more than five hundred thousand kilometers away.
This Void Behemoth clearly wasn’t the docile sort. Seemingly sensing their hostility, it let out a furious roar and then snorted.
A massive yellow beam shot toward them.
Almost all spell arts and Divine Connections were hundreds of times stronger in the void. Without the power of the domain as a restraining force, one could freely unleash one’s might.
From a distance, it appeared like a mighty yellow river was sweeping toward them.
Yiyi laughed. “A puny trick. Let me!”
With a clap of her hands, a verdant wave emerged in the void.
Green and yellow energies clashed in a colorful explosion.
From the ground, this explosion was just another pinpoint of starlight in the night sky, slightly expanding outward before gradually fading away.
But from close up, it felt like the explosion was about to consume the entire domain.
The rhino behemoth was visibly enraged, and it bellowed and charged toward Yiyi.
Yiyi simply gestured behind her. “Stony, it’s your turn.”
The Mother Cloud combat puppet unleashed a punch at the behemoth.
Another violent collision took place among the stars. This was a clash of physical strength, without any of the dazzle and splendor of the previous, but the shockwave was so powerful that it even reached the Rosecloud Domain. The Gold Ignis Astral Winds swiftly rose up to meet it, burning it away to nothing.
The Gold Ignis Astral Winds that had served as shackles to the cultivators of Rosecloud for thousands of years had now become a natural barrier completely under the control of humans.
This was all thanks to Tang Jie’s modifications to the domain.
The Mother Cloud combat puppet continued to do battle with the rhino behemoth.
Yiyi and Vermillion Bird simply spectated.
Yiyi said, “This rhino is huge, but all it has going for it is its brute strength.”
The Vermillion Bird replied, “This isn’t a rhino, but a Heaven Devourer Beast from High Antiquity. Careful not to be swallowed by it. This beast’s body is a dimension all on its own. If you get pulled in, unless you’ve entered the Dao of Space, you’ll find it extremely hard to escape. Even if you kill it, you’ll be cast by the spatial turbulence to a random location.”
At that moment, the rhino behemoth opened its mouth wide and began to suck in everything like a black hole.
Yiyi reacted swiftly, bringing the combat puppet back. Behind them, space collapsed, the Heaven Devourer Beast swallowing up the fabric of space itself.
Thankfully, it had its limits, and the black hole stopped after a certain amount of time. As the mouth closed, the pull disappeared.
Yiyi heaved a sigh of relief. “Sister, thank you for the warning, or else I might have gotten everyone sucked into its belly, after which our only option would be to find Tang Chuan to save us.”
The Vermillion Bird had naturally escaped in time as well. She scolded, “You’re already so old, so how do you not have the slightest bit of vigilance? The cosmos is vast, and anything could happen. There is far too much that you have yet to see. If you get careless, you could die at any time. Even Xuanyu, who was so skilled in Space, is still missing, no?”
The mention of Tang Xuanyu brought Yiyi’s mood down. “Yes, it’s been ten years, but we still don’t know if the little guy is okay.”
Ten years had passed since Tang Xuanyu had gone missing.
Through Tang Zixi, they could confirm that Tang Xuanyu was still alive.
But they just couldn’t find him.
Tang Xuanyu not wanting to come back was impossible. As a master of Space, if he wanted to, he could come back from anywhere in the universe. The only explanation was that he couldn’t come back.
Just what sort of person could imprison someone who had entered the Dao of Space?
Yiyi and the Vermillion Bird didn’t know.
Though they were confused, they still had a battle to fight.
Vermillion Bird unleashed a flame from her hand.
Her Southern Divine Fire had grown even stronger after her ascension to Immortal Platform, and it created a splash of color in the night sky of the Rosecloud Domain. Yiyi also took action, thorny flowers growing out of the Heaven Devourer Beast’s body. In their first exchange, she had furtively sown these seeds on its body. These flowers absorbed the behemoth’s strength while also causing it excruciating pain, and it let out a berserk roar of fury.
But against three Immortal experts, it was all bark and no bite.
Even if it were stronger, it wouldn’t have helped much. The Rosecloud Domain had at least a hundred Immortal Platform experts ready and waiting, able to use sheer numbers to overwhelm their foes.
In this starward expedition, nothing could stop the Rosecloud Domain!
After three days of battle, the vast lifeforce of the Heaven Devourer Beast finally ran out.
Its enormous body began to dissolve.
Its internal dimension was collapsing, bringing its outer body with it.
“Quickly, take its horn!” the Vermillion Bird said. “That is its core, a Space-type treasure that can be used to make a Space Dao armament.”
Yiyi, the combat puppet, and the Vermillion Bird swiftly acted to extract the horn.
The horn was enormous, and extracting it took a lot of work, while the behemoth’s body was collapsing at an incredible speed. As the collapse neared the horn, Yiyi shouted, “Stony, quick!”
The Mother Cloud combat puppet’s eyes fired off a powerful beam that sliced at the root of the horn, successfully cleaving off the horn before the spatial collapse reached it. The combat puppet swayed and collapsed into Yiyi’s embrace. Yiyi grabbed the puppet while the Vermillion Bird took the horn, shouting, “Go!”
They swiftly left the area.
The spatial ripples swiftly devoured the island-sized head of the behemoth.
Yiyi spat out her tongue. “Killing it didn’t take that much, but cutting off its horn took everything we had! It was harder to deal with dead than alive! So strange!”
The Vermillion Bird casually said, “The universe is full of all sorts of strange things. You’re just too inexperienced.”
Yiyi looked at the Vermillion Bird in surprise. “Sister, are you implying something?”
The Vermillion Bird shook her head. “I just feel… uneasy.”
“‘Uneasy’? Why?” Yiyi asked.
“I don’t know.” The Vermillion Bird looked into the distance. “I just feel that the thing I’ve been waiting for all this time is almost here.”
Far in the depths of space, a domain was quietly turning.
The Gigantes Domain.
