Aspiring to the Immortal Path

Chapter 1116: Peace and Quiet

In the 121st year of Heavenly Primacy, Warheaven Wolf of the Court of Myriad Domains was dispatched to the Rosecloud Domain on order of Yu Cheng with orders to exterminate it. At the same time, Tang Jie used his avatar’s consciousness to take control of the Immortal Emperor’s body, issuing chaotic orders, secretly using the Spring and Autumn Scroll, and dispatching Hong Beicang to intercept Warheaven Wolf. Through the power of Karma, the two battled outside the Rosecloud Domain, and both Gold Immortals were heavily injured, their armies suffering heavy losses. At this time, Tang Jie led the cultivators out of the Rosecloud Domain in an assault against the wounded armies of the court, personally killing Warheaven Wolf and Hong Beicang, dealing the new court the heaviest blow it had ever received.

Yu Cheng could only grit his teeth and bear it. So long as the will of Tang Jie’s avatar survived, he could do nothing to Tang Jie, so there was momentarily peace between the Rosecloud Domain and the Court of Myriad Domains.

But both Tang Jie and Yu Cheng understood that this peace would be broken eventually. Yu Cheng only needed the right opportunity, while Tang Jie needed to keep Yu Cheng from attacking him for long enough to grow stronger.

This was a delicate balance. While Yu Cheng was expanding, Tang Jie was taking the Rosecloud Domain on the path of the stars, growing stronger and stronger.

In the 136th year of Heavenly Primacy, Xu Miaoran, after more than a hundred years, had finally gathered all the needed materials and refined 36 Immortal Spirit Pills using the Holy Soul Water as their base. To maximize their usage, Tang Jie ordered that only those who were at the very last step of the ascension to Immortal Platform, which was also the most difficult step, could get an Immortal Spirit Pill. In the same year, Yiyi and Xu Miaoran ascended to Immortal Platform thanks to the pills.

In the 158th year of Heavenly Primacy, the Rosecloud Domain went to war with the Heaven Swamp Domain and gained victory, the planet once more growing larger. In the same year, Huang Wuji broke through his limits and became a True Immortal, the second of the Rosecloud Domain.

In the 196th year of Heavenly Primacy, Sect Master Mystic Moon ascended to Immortal Platform, and Qi Shaoming became the new Sect Master. As time passed and the planet grew larger, the once–younger generation of the Basking Moon Sect gradually became the supporting pillars of the present.

In the 221st year of Heavenly Primacy, the Nine Splendors Celestial Sovereign ascended to Immortal Platform, and the next year, Ming Yekong ascended to Immortal Platform. The year after that, Fairy Gu Ye ascended to True Immortal.

The 298th Year of Heavenly Primacy. In the foregoing 77 years, the Jewel Immortal Sovereign and Jade Emptiness Immortal Sovereign of Horizon Ocean Pavilion; Fairy Wuyou and Xue Hanyan of the Thousand Passions Sect; Jin Wuyu of Godhead Palace; Feng Muyuan of the Beast Refining Gate; and Yuan Tianfeng, Shi Xinchan, and Wang Juemie of the Seven Absolutions Sect all ascended to Immortal Platform. Blossom Queen Ran Qing, Mu Ziyang, and Ye Yun also became True Immortals. Of the six major sects, only Ji Wenzhang, who had been greatly weakened from the war with the Blood River Domain, was unable to break through. But while his Seven Absolutions Sect lacked a True Immortal, it had a top-class genius in Wang Juemie.

Besides Yiyi and Xu Miaoran, Wang Juemie was the only member of Tang Jie’s generation to ascend to Immortal Platform. This wasn’t merely because of his peerless talent, but also because the Seven Absolutions Sect had poured all of its resources into nurturing him. In the past, the Seven Absolutions Sect had regarded him as an exceptional genius and placed all of its hopes on him, and Wang Juemie had not let them down. To reach Immortal Platform in only one thousand years was the greatest proof of his talent. Alas, Tang Jie completely overshadowed him.

Still, among their peers, he was still closely following Tang Jie’s footsteps, matching him, Yiyi, and Xu Miaoran in achieving Immortal Platform.

And he was the only one to have not used the Immortal Spirit Pill.

He wanted to prove to the world that he could complete this grand feat even without the help of Tang Jie or the Immortal Spirit Pill. ᴛʜs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛʀ s ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛ ʙʏ noᴠelfire.net

Other than the members of the six major sects, cultivators of other sects of the Rosecloud Domain were rewarded with Immortal Spirit Pills, and a total of twelve became Immortals in this way.

In the 356th year of Heavenly Primacy, Wang Posha attained Immortal Platform, surpassing all his seniors, as expected of the Child of Fate.

In the following five years, Qi Shaoming, Cai Junyang, Xi Canhen, Peng Yaolong, and Mu Yi gradually attained Soul Projection, getting closer and closer to Immortal Platform.

As the Rosecloud Domain traveled farther and farther on the path of the stars, it grew larger and larger and its cultivators grew stronger and stronger. The rising tide lifted all boats, and everyone was filled with confidence and hope for the future.

As for the one who had created all this, Tang Jie, he remained at the Earth Immortal level, making no progress at all, his claim of breaking through in ten years remaining nothing more than an empty boast…

Changkong, Rosecloud’s Western Sea.

The Rosecloud Domain originally didn’t have a western sea. But as it had grown larger and larger, its terrain had begun to change.

This heaven-shaking transformation was brought about through the power of humans.

The Rosecloud Domain now consisted of five continents rather than one, and each one was much larger than the original Rosecloud Domain. In the last four hundred years, the Rosecloud Domain had devoured several dozen other domains, developing from a small-scale world to a large-scale world. While it was still far from the Vast Wilderness Continent’s level, it was no longer some insignificant speck in the cosmos.

Of the cultivators living on this planet, there were several dozen Immortal Platform experts stationed across the five continents. The central and largest continent belonged solely to the Basking Moon Sect, which received the tribute and worship of the surrounding four continents.

The Western Sea was the region of ocean to the west of the central continent. It had many fiends and was rich in resources.

Changkong was a small island in the Western Sea, home to around seventy families of fishermen and not particularly rich in resources. But as it was generally free of natural disasters, the fishermen living here mostly had peaceful and harmonious lives.

At dusk, the fishermen returned from the ocean, and as they offloaded their haul, the village became lively.

They were led by a bearded middle-aged man, who carried his fishing net as he called out to the villagers.

“Auntie Zhang, Uncle Li, hello!”

“Little Jie, you’ve returned. So, how was the fishing?”

“Thanks to all of you, everything went well.” The middle-aged man grinned. Of course, it was Tang Jie.

A small hut was Tang Jie’s home. As he returned, Xu Miaoran was leaning against the door with a smile on her lips, her rough clothes failing to hide her beauty.

Stuffing the net in Xu Miaoran’s hand, Tang Jie said, “The net is broken. Help me mend it.”

“Mm.” Xu Miaoran went into the hut and really pulled out a thread and needle to repair the net.

“Oh, right, there’s this too.” Tang Jie produced a large fish in his hand, which was still flopping about. “It’s a king fish. Let’s make it into a soup.”

Xu Miaoran rolled her eyes. “We said that we wouldn’t recklessly use spell arts, so how did you bring this king fish over?”

Tang Jie chuckled. “Don’t mind it. This king fish is just too rare, so those guys on the boat would try and take it if they saw it, so I had to hide it. We said only to not recklessly use spell arts, not to not use spell arts at all. And how can bringing a fish back for my wife be reckless use? For such an important matter, it’s only proper to use a spell.”

Xu Miaoran rolled her eyes again and then smiled. “You and your sweet mouth. Yiyi, take this and stew it.”

“Coming!” Yiyi came out from the hut, took the fish, and began to clean the fish to stew it.

Nobody could have expected the famous Freedom Celestial Sovereign of the Rosecloud Domain to be living a simple and carefree life on this small island together with Xu Miaoran and Yiyi.

As she mended the net, Xu Miaoran said, “Right, Yu’er sent a message.”

“Oh? That kid remembered how to send a message? What trouble did he cause this time?”

Xu Miaoran chuckled. “Is there a father anywhere like you, always hoping for the worst for their child? Xuanyu sent a message a few days ago that he’s basically finished the preparations and will be making the ascension to Violet Palace soon. He asked if you wanted to come and see.”

Tang Jie and Xu Miaoran’s children, Tang Zixi and Tang Xuanyu, were not living with their parents. They were still too young and hyperactive to be easily bound. Tang Jie and Xu Miaoran had gone among mortals to cultivate their body and soul, but it was still too early for their children to need the same. Moreover, they needed to experience more, to adventure. It would be difficult for them to mature if they relied entirely on the resources of their home. Youths needed to experience some hardship. Thus, Tang Jie had ordered them to not reveal their true identities.

At first, the siblings had truly had a tough time, even being in danger a few times. Fortunately, Tang Jie had dispatched the Mother Cloud combat puppet and the whale shark Fiend God to protect them from the shadows, allowing them to come out of these trials safely. As time passed, the two children gradually matured and stopped worrying their father.

Tang Jie was talking about trouble not because he feared that Tang Xuanyu would cause any, but because he was nostalgic for the days when he still needed to clean up after his kids. It was a difficult feeling to explain.

Tang Jie nodded. “He’s going to ascend to Violet Palace. I suppose it’s about that time.”

Tang Jie had needed two hundred years to reach Violet Palace, but his experience couldn’t be used as any sort of model, so Tang Xuanyu naturally couldn’t be as fast. Even so, getting to this point in four hundred years was incredibly fast. Only his older sister had been faster, Tang Zixi reaching Violet Palace twenty years ago. Perhaps for this reason, the usually somewhat laidback Tang Xuanyu turned serious. Otherwise, given his personality, he might have stalled for even longer.

“It’s just Violet Palace, no big deal. Just have him send another message once he’s done ascending,” Tang Jie casually said.

Violet Palace was a massive barrier for other people, but Tang Jie knew that his children were extremely talented, their aptitude at least on par with Wang Juemie’s, so reaching Violet Palace was just a matter of time. After all, this was an aptitude he had decided upon using the Spring and Autumn Scroll, so there would be no bottlenecks until Immortal Platform.

If not to stabilize their foundations, the siblings could have ascended even faster if they wanted to.

Xu Miaoran wasn’t surprised by his reply, chuckling, “This is still an important day. Moreover, they’ve been out for so long. Don’t you want to see them?”

Tang Jie laughed, “You, I knew you were missing our kids and looking for an excuse to see them. Haa, they’re both four hundred years old now, not those sweet little kids of the past. They don’t need so much fawning.”

Xu Miaoran glared at Tang Jie. “No matter how old, they’re still my kids. If you’re not going, I’ll go on my own.”

Tang Jie bitterly smiled. “It’s not that I don’t want to go. It’s just that there’s not much time left.”

“‘Not much time’? What do you mean by that?” Xu Miaoran was taken aback, and then she said in realization, “You’re talking about…”

Tang Jie nodded. “The Primordial Fog Calamity!”
