Chapter 1122 1122: Duel.
Shi Lang and Amelia discussed about the situation and then Shi Lang set out for a journey, he found a lot of talented juniors to spar with. He gave them tips and he fought groups, and even armies at time.
His martial art was not only limited to kicks and punches, it was also about tactics, and countering the enemy to the best level. Shi Lang had a lot of experience from the lower realms. As days past, his skills improved. Shi Lang seemed to have become the same school student that he was back at the federation. However, in the culmination of things, he could now fight almost the entire race alone if he used his full power.
His movements have gained the fluidity of water, no matter the obstacle, he would be able to overcome it, overwhelm it, and then drown it.
Soon, it was that day of the month when the human race was due to fight with the Martial Titans. Shi Lang first made a trip to the artifact refining wing. He had refined an armor for himself. It was based off on the protection suit he used back in the Federation, but it was equipped with many arrays that would aid him in the battle.
Why did he make such an equipment? He never underestimated his enemy and always fought with his enemy using the maximum of his power. This was why the people in the human race revered him so much and they feared him the same as well. Yu Xeidi was moving her hammer ferociously at a piece of metal.
Shi Lang watched her from the side, and asked, “Xiao Yu, what is going on? Are you okay?”
Xiao Yu turned to look at him and said, “Baba, I am anxious. Come back soon, I will stay here till then.”
Shi Lang chuckled and said, “Fine, but while you are beating that poor piece of metal, do make something nice out of it, okay?”
Yu Xeidi hummed and then Shi Lang left dressed in his battle armor. He found that everyone has already gathered. The people saw him dressed in the armor and were surprised, this was something they have never seen before. However, the Terrans in the crowd were shocked and they swarmed over to the man without caring.
Jenkins and Darcx stood at the forefront and the former said, “Fucking hell, just because you hold a higher rank you can’t act like this you punk. I want one as well.”
Darcx nodded and replied, “Yes, same. You have to forge a few for all of us.”
Shi Lang sneered and said, “Bastards, do you all take me for your slave now? I dare you, go and hassle Xiao Yu, she is anxious and is beating metal in the forge. Move away you couple of dung beetles.”
He pushed them away and then walked over to the envoy and said, “I apologize for the mess, Lady Envoy. Please lead the way.”
The Envoy had now been staying in the human realm for five months, and she knew that this guy was a nuisance through and through. However, she didn’t mind it. After all, they showed her proper respect despite the fact that she was not going to help them at all.
They crossed the gates and came to the Arena. Shi Lang saw that the place was already filled with fifty races. Although the fights were being broad casted all over the Myriad Planes, only the races that were still in competition were allowed to appear inside the Arena.
…
Shi Lang sat down on the seat, and he could feel many people looking at him. There were many who were scoffing and shaking their heads. Thinking what could his armor do. However, Shi Lang couldn’t care less about them and closed his eyes to adjust his mind and wait for his turn.
After a few battles, the invigilating envoy said, “The representative of the human race, and the Martial Titans, please step forward.”
Shi Lang stood up and then he walked to the Center of the arena. Yes, he walked up to the place. On the other side he saw a man walking over as well. This guy had a physique that seemed to be made up of marble and chiseled by a sculptor. He wore a couple of gauntlets and walked bare chested with a pair of spiked shoes on his feet.
Shi Lang could sense the ground trembling as he moved, and he smiled, before cupping his fist and saying, “To duel with you, it would be enjoyable.”
The Martial Titan was stunned for a second, and then he chuckled, “Is that why you got that armor?”
Shi Lang nodded with an earnest expression and said, “I could not underestimate you. In the past battles many people didn’t realize the importance of martial arts and they paid a drastic price. I don’t want to be like that.”
The martial titan nodded and said, “You are honest at least. I am Chun.”
Shi Lang replied, “Shi Lang.”
The invigilator looked at them and said, “Begin!”
Shi Lang said, “May the best martial artist wins.”
Chun shot forth and vanished from his speed. Shi Lang did the same, as they met in the center of the arena. The two people shot their fists out quickly. The speed was high, but Shi Lang appeared to be lagging a little. The two punches collided and followed this exchange was a flurry from both the people.
The fists flew through the void, each punch strong enough to cause the head to explode, but none of them landed. Chun snorted and then he mixed kicks into the fray. Shi Lang didn’t hold back either, he blocked the attacks and he countered Chun with patience.
Chun was also very patient, this has been his speciality throughout the entire tournament. None of his battles had been short. He had been fighting at his max, but always wearing out the opponent. Shi Lang and Chun were both using spiritual energy to power their attacks. The latter found that they were evenly matched and he said, “Clockwork Muscle, Vital Punches.”
The boxing pattern changed and Chun began to target Shi Lang with compact punches that aimed at his vital points. Clockwork muscles was a technique that caused the muscles to shrink and then move forth in a sequence to deliver the maximum force.
Shi Lang countered this with his own technique of internal diversion. The force that he took on was carefully moved along his muscles and redirected towards the outside. The blow he took on the right side was delivered back to Chun with a higher force with his left hand.
Chun had a stronger physique and he was not much bothered by the attacks. However, unlike him, who was targeting a wide range of vital points. Shi Lang was mainly focused on delivering body shots and smashing Chun’s guard. He just wanted to make Chun run out of gas.
After a few minutes of slugfesting, Chun realized what was going on. Shi Lang was channeling the lightning energy through his skin each time he landed a punch, it didn’t matter if Shi Lang targeted the arms or the body the impact was accumulating on Chun’s insides.
Chun decided to get serious and he began to use techniques in combination and this began to hamper Shi Lang’s offense a little. Although his attack was strong, the fact that his attack was hampered held significant impact in this fight. After all, attack was the best defense and that was what Martial Arts was all about. Defending yourself while attacking the enemy.
Shi Lang looked at Chun who was using different attack techniques at the same time, and his gaze seemed to have entered a trance. He stopped attacking the latter and began to move around to dodge and parry the attacks coming to him. The entire thing looked as if he was a passive participant.
However, while the Martial Titans were feeling optimistic, the humans sat calmly. They had gotten used to this feeling where death was imminent. One thing was sure after the tournament, they would be on the path of rapid growth, by both, spiritual and mental side.
Back in the Arena, Shi Lang suddenly ducked to the left, and raised his right hand to catch the phantom of the fist swung at him. The sudden change in the rythm caught Chun off-guard, and then the next moment, Shi Lang used a take down technique and flung the muscled man over his shoulder, leading him to crash in the ground heavily.
Shi Lang wanted to take the chance to mount up on Chun and unload some punches when Chun also changed his patterns and quickly bought his legs around and tried to perform a triangle choke on Shi Lang.
The Terran pulled away from Chun and chuckled as he said, “You caught on to that rather quickly, didn’t you?”
