A Farmer's Journey To Immortality

Chapter 617: Creating Golden Rebirth Elixir

Chapter 617: Creating Golden Rebirth Elixir

Deep underground, beneath the quiet grounds of Zinnia’s martial arts school.

The faint glow of bioluminescent moss lit the wide cave in shades of green and gold.

Aksai sat cross-legged on a flat stone surface at the center of the cave.

In both of his hands, he held two fruits — the Golden Rebirth Fruits he had claimed after ending the lives of the one-eyed man and the gray-haired woman from the Grand Martial Hall.

The fruits gleamed faintly, giving off a dim golden light that illuminated Aksai’s face. Their skin looked smooth but pulsed gently, as though something alive rested within them. Even from a distance, one could feel the dense golden Qi contained inside.

Aksai looked at the fruits for a long moment.

“Maybe this is what I was looking for,” he murmured in a low voice.

“Scan the fruits using Spirit Sense and identify their properties. Create a detailed profile for this resource. Then, run a virtual alchemy sandboxing using the Spirit-Qi Bifecta Elixir recipe. Set the Golden Rebirth Fruit as the main ingredient. Calculate the resulting potency increase of the elixir.”

The Neural Link Fabric responded immediately.

[Command received. Beginning analysis.]

Several translucent spectral screens appeared in front of Aksai’s eyes, forming a floating ring of data around him. Streams of glowing symbols and runic diagrams moved rapidly across the screens as the Neural Link Fabric began its virtual simulation.

Fine lines of Spirit energy traced out the structure of the fruit — layer by layer — showing detailed cross-sections of its Qi core and life essence concentration. The display flickered softly as the analysis progressed.

[Primary data extraction complete. Constructing an alchemy model.]

The screens rearranged themselves, showing the recipe structure of the Spirit-Qi Bifecta Elixir. Tiny digital models of herbs, minerals, and liquid essences began to rotate around the central image of the fruit.

Aksai watched silently as the Neural Link Fabric conducted the virtual alchemy process.

The process lasted only a few minutes. Then the spectral screens slowed down and displayed the result in bright golden letters.

[Master, congratulations.]

[The Spirit-Qi Bifecta Elixir shows a 320 percent increase in potency when the Golden Rebirth Fruit is used as the main ingredient.]

[The prospective elixir will serve as a viable resource for aiding your breakthrough into the Aurous Body Realm.]

Aksai laughed excitedly at the result.

“Hahaha! This… it performed far beyond my expectations. This fruit is so powerful that it could be eaten raw and still help a late-stage Argent Artist step into the Aurous Realm without any problem.

No wonder Reymon managed to promote so many martial artists into the Aurous realm over the years despite not having a perfected Aurous martial arts technique. This fruit… it’s magical.”

He looked at the fruits again. The golden light reflected in his hazel brown eyes.

“I really would have eaten you raw if I wasn’t worried about wasting your potential as premium-grade elixirs,” he said softly, placing the fruits gently on a stone tray beside him.

His sharp eyes then moved slowly over the layered talismans placed on the stone wall — each one glowing faintly with defensive runes.

He reached out, brushed his fingers over the symbols, and checked their stability. After a short pause, he gave a small nod, satisfied with the protection they offered.

Without saying a word, his figure flickered and vanished into thin air. The next moment, he appeared inside the Everwood Farmhouse.

Aksai had barely taken a step forward when Yelia greeted and welcomed him before. She gave a detailed report to Aksai regarding the current status of the crops that were getting cultivated on the farm. In the end, her eyes fell on the two shining fruits in Aksai’s hands, and her expression lit up with surprise.

“My lord,” she said with a tone of admiration, “these fruits are extremely rare in the outside world. I’m truly surprised you managed to obtain two of them at the same time.”

Aksai smiled faintly, a small chuckle escaping his lips. “It’s thanks to my enemies,” he said as he looked down at the fruits. “They come to my rescue whenever I need something.”

He didn’t waste time and started walking deeper into the farmhouse. They soon reached a pathway that led to the alchemy lab.

Yelia tilted her head slightly as she watched him. “My lord, are you thinking of creating an elixir from these fruits?”

Aksai nodded while recalling the recipe in his mind. “That’s right,” he replied calmly. “I think I’ve provoked Reymon enough. He should be here by tomorrow, at the earliest. I need to finish my preparations and step into the Aurous Body Realm before that happens.”

He stopped for a moment, his eyes turning serious. “Only then can I face the grand master of the Grand Martial Hall, holding all his trump cards and tricks. Although Sharang doesn’t have calamity summoner path practitioners, Reymon still is the leader of the biggest martial organization of this world.”

Aksai then sighed and continued.

“Now that I’ve revealed the Devil’s Den, it won’t work against him again. He’ll find a way to counter it. If he somehow breaks it using the trump cards I had seen in the elders’ extracted memories, the backlash will fall on me.”

Yelia listened quietly, her eyes fixed on the glowing fruits. A thought suddenly struck her, and she spoke in a careful tone.

“I understand, my lord. But do you really need both fruits for the elixir? Why not give me one? I can plant the seeds here. With me and the Everwood Farmhouse nurturing it, you’ll never have to worry about reobtaining these fruits again.”

Aksai paused at the doorway of the alchemy lab. Her words made him smile. He turned to look at her — her hopeful expression reflected in the golden shine of the fruits.

“You are thinking of cultivating them here? That’s… that’s an interesting idea,” he said softly. After a brief moment of thought, he handed her one of the fruits. “Make sure to use it well.”

Yelia’s face brightened as she carefully accepted it with both hands. “Yes, my lord,” she said, bowing her head with respect. Then her figure slowly faded, turning into light that blended into the walls of the farmhouse.

Aksai turned back toward the alchemy lab and stepped inside. The heavy wooden doors closed behind him, leaving the room filled with the gentle hum of Spirit energy and the faint glow of the remaining Golden Rebirth Fruit resting in his palm.

A few hours passed just like that.

Inside the alchemy lab.

Aksai rolled up his sleeves and set the single Golden Rebirth Fruit on a stone pedestal. The fruit glowed faintly, its golden surface pulsing like a beating heart.

The Spirit farmer took a deep breath and started the process. He crushed a portion of the fruit, letting its thick golden essence drip into the cauldron.

The cauldron’s runes lit up in different colors as spirit fire flickered to life beneath it.

For a few moments, everything seemed fine. Then the cauldron began to shake violently. The golden liquid hissed, and a wave of raw energy burst out, cracking the stone floor around him.

Aksai clicked his tongue and waved his hand, cutting off the fire. The light from the cauldron faded, leaving behind a half-burned mixture.

A faint golden vapor escaped from it, filling the room with the scent of metal and ash.

“Too much,” Aksai muttered, staring at the mess. “The potency is too strong.”

He examined the remnants and sighed. About one-fifth of the fruit was already wasted.

Just then, a clear voice echoed in his head.

[Master, I recommend waiting. Allow me to run a full sandboxing experiment to minimize energy loss. The current control ratio is unstable.]

Ever since the upgrade, the Neural Link Fabric had become sensitive to Aksai’s emotions. It wanted to succeed at every task. When it detected that the real-time experiments might lead to the wastage of more of the fruit, the Fabric decided to act on its own to minimize the loss.

Previously, the Neural Link Fabric had operated like an artificial intelligence, but the upgrade had removed much of that artificial aspect. Now, it could think and respond more like a real companion rather than a disposable biochip installed in someone’s body.

Aksai smiled faintly and shook his head. He could tell that the Neural Link Fabric was becoming more aware of his emotions and situation. He didn’t mind the intervention, though he was a little surprised by it.

He spoke to his long-time companion — one that was becoming less artificial with each passing day — in the same gentle tone one would use with a child learning something new.

“No matter how many virtual experiments one runs, they are only meant to aid the real process. Thanks to you, I can reduce the actual errors to their bare minimum, saving time and effort. But you are mistaking the entire purpose of my process if you think I want to automate the entirety of the alchemy creation.

“The mistakes I face in real practice aren’t failures; they’re guiding lights that show me the right direction. And it’s not like one has to do everything perfectly from the start to succeed. It’s okay to make mistakes. And it’s okay if the experimental results turn out different from the theories.

“Even without a concrete plan, one can experiment using their sheer will and achieve success. All you need is a bit of courage to face the prospect of failure.

“And sometimes it’s okay to skip the theoretical process entirely. Sometimes you’ve got to fly before you learn to walk,” he said, a small grin tugging at his lips.

Ignoring the suggestion, Aksai cleaned the cauldron and began again. This time, he adjusted the spirit flame’s temperature and used slower circulation patterns for the Spirit Qi infusion.

He carefully poured the liquid essence of the Golden Rebirth Fruit, drop by drop, balancing it with the other herbs and minerals that made up the Spirit Qi Bifecta Elixir.

For a long while, the cauldron glowed softly. The bubbling sound filled the room as a thick golden mist spread out. Aksai guided the energy with both hands, his spirit power wrapping around the cauldron like a web.

When the light finally dimmed, the potion inside had turned into a clear golden liquid. Aksai checked the readings that appeared before his eyes through the Neural Link Fabric.

[Result: 220 percent potency compared to the standard Spirit Qi Bifecta Elixir.]

He let out a slow breath and leaned back slightly. “Barely acceptable,” he murmured.

Still, his eyes showed no frustration. He simply nodded, memorized the energy flow patterns, and prepared for another round.

The third attempt went smoother. His movements were sharper now, each hand seal precise and in sync with the cauldron’s rhythmic energy pulses. The fruit’s essence flowed like molten sunlight, merging evenly with the other ingredients. This time, the cauldron didn’t shake — it hummed softly, resonating with Aksai’s control.

Minutes passed, and then a burst of golden light filled the room — bright, warm, and pure. The runes carved on the walls lit up in response. When the light faded, the mixture had turned into a luminous golden liquid that seemed to breathe with life.

Aksai opened his eyes and checked the readings again.

[Result: 320 percent potency compared to the standard Spirit Qi Bifecta Elixir.]

A smile spread across his face. “Perfect.”

He gathered the remaining portion of the Golden Rebirth Fruit and repeated the process one last time, taking his time to balance every detail.

By the end of the day, he had successfully created another stable batch with about 300 percent potency — strong enough to help him step into the Aurous Body Realm.
