Chapter 1292: Let them fight it out

When the treasures were being submitted, there were awkward looks on the faces of the Heavenly Demon Sect disciples.

After all, most of them had gotten nothing in the end.

Most of them had been about to gather the treasures that they needed for this round when they were suddenly pulled into the ground. They had tried chasing after them, but there was nothing that they could do as they moved too quickly.

By the time that they realized what happened, someone had already collected most of the treasures earlier.

It was just that they had been waiting to collect them since they didn’t want to be attacked by the others.

They wanted to rank higher and gather more treasures, but they also didn’t want to become everyone’s target. The ones that collected a lot would naturally become a target for everyone since they had all the treasure worth a bunch of points on them.

That was why everyone had been waiting to collect these treasures in one go so that they would be able to gain a bunch of points at once.

They wanted to be the ones that benefitted the most by waiting.

No one had expected the treasures to suddenly be sucked away like this.

The only ones that made it in the end were those that had collected a few pieces of treasures as an insurance. They were the ones that were confident enough that they would be able to hide these things or protect them with their strength, which was why they had collected them in the first place.

But that meant that most of the disciples had been eliminated in just this second round.

This second round was only supposed to cut down 30% of the disciples, but it had cut down 90% of the disciples in the end.

It really seemed like they were already reaching the final round with how few contestants were left.

There were supposed to be four to five rounds depending on what happened, but now it seemed like this third round was supposed to be the final one.

The ones that were eliminated naturally looked at Lin Fan with eyes that were filled with grudges.

When he submitted all the things that he did, there was no doubt in their minds that he was the one that had caused all of this. After all, there was no way that he would have been able to obtain all of these points if he wasn’t the one that had caused all of this.

But even if they felt this way, what were they supposed to do?

All that they could do was complain to the elders that Lin Fan had cheated in some way.

However, those complaints were all ignored by the elders as they stated that Lin Fan had done nothing wrong. They had insisted that they already conducted an investigation on this matter and had confirmed that there was no cheating at all.

Though it was clear that some of the elders had their doubts as well.

It would be strange for them not to have these doubts since this was what they had been told.

They had never personally investigated since it was only those top elders that had investigated the core array. So even if they wanted to say what the top elders told them to say, it was hard for them to hide their own doubts.

But in the end, this matter was dropped since it wasn’t as if the disciples could actually do anything against the elders.

If the elders insisted that this was the case, the only thing that the disciples could do was accept that it was indeed the case.

Lin Fan honestly never would have known that it was his fault that this happened since no one told him anything about this.

When the third round came, it came as a surprise for most of the disciples that were left.

“A free for all? Why is it a free for all like in the first round?”

The original third round had been cancelled since there just simply weren’t enough people left to do that third round. That was why the elders had announced that they would be setting a new format for the third and final round.

Everyone recognized that it would be the final round since there just weren’t enough disciples left to make it to a fourth round.

But they certainly didn’t expect it to be something like this.

The elders didn’t expect something like this either since this was the order that had been passed down to them. But they didn’t dare show any doubts since the one that passed down the order this time wasn’t just the grand elder.

It was the Heavenly Demon, the sect master himself that gave this order.

In the Heavenly Demon Sect, there was no one else that had more power than the sect master, the Heavenly Demon.

So when it was an order that came from the Heavenly Demon himself, the elders only had a single thought in mind.

They only cared about following that order.

There were some that complained when they heard that this would be a free for all fight since they knew that there was a monster that they couldn’t compare to in this fight. Even if it was a free for all fight where they would be able to work with each other, it wasn’t as if there was anything that they could do against him.

All that would happen is that they would be sent out of the arena and would lose everything that they should have had a chance to obtain.

But there was nothing that they could do since the elders just ignored their complaints.

This was a demonic sect in the first place, so it wasn’t as if complaints really mattered.

They had the right to complain, but it was very unlikely that anyone would do anything about those complaints.

So in the end, they had no choice but to face Lin Fan together.

“We’ll do this together! I don’t believe that he’ll be able to take us all down!”

It seemed that they did form an alliance before the free for all.

This was the only thing that they could have done since they really couldn’t do anything against Lin Fan.

Though the only thing that happened was that they were all tossed out of the ring.

There was no hesitation from Lin Fan as he did this.

In fact, Lin Fan even went all out against all of these other disciples since he wanted to take care of this as quickly as possible. He wanted to end this so that he could establish himself in this Heavenly Demon Sect.

With aggrieved looks on their faces, most of these disciples were sent flying.

There were one or two that were able to resist the force that Lin Fan used on them to his surprise. But that didn’t mean that they were able to resist the second attack that he used.

None of them were even able to see what Lin Fan was doing to them as he sent them flying, but the elders were able to see it and that was all that mattered. As long as the elders saw it, they knew that he wasn’t cheating.

Though that didn’t mean that they could accept what he did that easily.

“Where did he obtain this power?”

All of them could see the specks of dirt that Lin Fan released.

When these specks of dirt approached the other disciples, they released this gravity push that sent them all flying. Though it was hard for them to understand how there was this much gravity force inside of these specks of dust.

It only took a few minutes before Lin Fan was the only one left standing.

It would have been sooner, but there were a few that had been able to resist.

Those were the ones that had been the favourites to win before he joined.

As he stood there, all of the other disciples looked at him with awe and fear as they couldn’t understand what happened.

Even the referee wasn’t able to react in time, but he eventually acknowledged Lin Fan as the winner.

Though after this, there was a silence that hung in the air as no one said anything.

It wasn’t that they didn’t want to say anything, it was just that what they wanted to say wouldn’t have been appropriate for the situation. At the same time, it wasn’t as if they could just say these things.

The one that broke the silence was…

“Good work everyone.”

When they heard this voice, everyone was shocked.

After all, they all recognized this voice.

It was a voice that they had made sure to memorize since this was the most important person that was in the Heavenly Demon Sect. And that was why they also couldn’t believe that this person had come to this place.

This was only a sect assessment, this wasn’t something that should attract his attention.

Everyone couldn’t help looking at Lin Fan after the Heavenly Demon appeared.

Lin Fan was also a bit surprised to see the Heavenly Demon since he didn’t expect him, but he could see the way that the Heavenly Demon was looking at him. For the Heavenly Demon to appear here now, it seemed like he was doing him a favour.

By appearing, it would raise Lin Fan’s prestige even more.

“Is the Heavenly Demon here to accept him as a disciple?”

That would be the thought that was on everyone’s mind.
