Chapter 1234: Official deal

Chapter 1234: Official deal

It wasn’t just the nobles that visited Duke Rosewood’s territory.

It was also the officials from the capital that came as well.

Though that was the cover for the real person that came.

The one that came was Haku.

The moment that Duke Rosewood met Haku, he bowed to her as if he was afraid that he would have his head chopped off for not doing so.

But Haku wasn’t that unreasonable and at the same time, she had a use for him.

“When your ancestors receive their title, this wasn’t what they were known for. They were known for their courage and their strength that helped lay the foundation of our empire. This certainly wasn’t what they expected from you.” Haku said after meeting him.

Duke Rosewood couldn’t help revealing an awkward look when he heard this, but he didn’t say anything since this was the truth.

The first generation of Rosewoods were knights that had a unique fighting style that had been the vanguard in Haku’s conquest. They had done a lot to help build the Laver Empire, which was why they received the title of duke in the first place.

The current Duke Rosewood was the furthest thing away from those knights of old.

But it couldn’t be said that he didn’t make a contribution to the Laver Empire since he had created the Iron Legion.

If the Iron Legion wasn’t powerful enough, then Haku wouldn’t have come all the way here.

The reason that Haku brought all of this up was more because it was an emotional matter for her. The other reason that she had given the ancestor of the Dukewood Family that title was because he was a friend that had helped her.

So now that she was here meeting his descendant, she naturally couldn’t help thinking about her old friend that had long passed.

The current Duke Rosewood naturally had no way of knowing this since he didn’t know about Haku’s real identity.

Even if he knew, it would have been hard for him to accept that this young looking empress in front of him was a dungeon core that had lived for thousands of years.

After a moment of silence, Haku said, “Putting that aside, let’s talk about that Iron Legion of yours.”

Duke Rosewood calmed down too when he heard this before nodding with a serious look on his face.

Haku had already seen the power that the Iron Legion possessed and it was at a level that couldn’t be ignored. It was to the point where she even wanted to take all of the Iron Legion for herself.

Since she was the empress, she could have certainly done that…but it wasn’t as if Haku was that kind of person in the first place. At the same time, there was another reason why she couldn’t just touch the Iron Legion like that.

It was all because it was related to Lin Fan.

Since it was related to Lin Fan, that meant that Rokuko was also involved.

If Rokuko was involved, then Haku wouldn’t try to take it away recklessly out of fear that she would anger her.

So the only thing that Haku could do was buy the Iron Legion like everyone else.

Though it was different since Haku was the empress of the Laver Empire and she didn’t have to act the same way as the other nobles. If she wanted the Iron Legion, she could naturally go directly to the source and give orders for it.

As well, there was another reason why she could do this.

It was to do with the demonstration that Lin Fan had put on at the celebration.

As part of the deal for helping him with this, it was only natural that Haku’s subordinates would receive the rights to the Iron Legion as well. Lin Fan knew that it would be impossible to keep these things to themselves after revealing them, so he did it in a way that would benefit them the most.

Now it was time to discuss the terms of this deal.

“How much for them?” Haku didn’t even bother saying anything else as she directly asked for the price.

As expected of the empress of the Laver Empire, she didn’t hesitate at all when it came to things like this.

Duke Rosewood didn’t say anything as he turned to look at Lin Fan.

Lin Fan had already been expecting this, so he just simply took out a piece of paper that he handed to Haku without a single word.

Haku raised a brow, but she took it still and looked it over.

When she did, she slightly knitted her brows before looking between that piece of paper and Lin Fan.

Lin Fan didn’t mind this as he calmly looked at her, but it seemed like Duke Rosewood was starting to worry about this with the way that he looked at Lin Fan. Still, he didn’t say anything in the end since he trusted Lin Fan to handle this matter.

After a moment of silence, Haku said, “Are these prices final?”

Lin Fan said with a nod, “They are.”

Haku narrowed her eyes to look at him when he said this.

Seeing this made Duke Rosewood even more worried as he grabbed Lin Fan by the arm as if he was trying to say something to him without actually saying anything.

But Lin Fan just calmly looked right back at her and said, “These were prices that we’ve already discussed with your aides. I think that this is more than a fair price for these suits.”

This time, Haku revealed a surprised look. However, that surprised look didn’t last long on her face as she turned to look at Agnus who was standing beside her.

Agnus also didn’t panic as she looked at Haku with a calm look.

Haku just turned back in the end and said with a nod, “Alright, then we’ll agree to these prices.”

It was only Duke Rosewood who was surprised and confused by this.

One moment, it seemed like the deal was about to fall through. But then the next, Haku suddenly agreed to the prices that they had set without saying anything else.

Duke Rosewood didn’t understand how any of this worked, but that didn’t stop him from admiring Lin Fan for setting up something like this.

Lin Fan naturally wasn’t surprised since this was something that he had already discussed with Agnus ahead of time. If they showed interest in the Iron Legion and asked for it, it was best to plan these things ahead of time.

Since these prices had already been set by Lin Fan and Agnus, the only thing that Haku could do was accept.

Agnus naturally knew what the bottom line that the Laver Empire could accept was and would have negotiated with this in mind. That was why Haku felt like this price was strange the moment that she saw it.

It was the price that she would have looked to negotiate for.

Since the price had been set, the only thing left was…

“How many of these can you get to us?”

Lin Fan took out another piece of paper that he handed over to Haku which made her frown at him. But he didn’t say anything at all as he waited for her to take this piece of paper from him.

When she took it and read it over, Haku just gave a sigh before saying, “Alright, this is acceptable.”

Though the way that she looked at Lin Fan and Agnus was as if she was saying, “If you’ve already decided on this, then what’s the point of bringing me here in the first place?”

Agnus looked back at her as if she was saying, “If I didn’t let you come, then you would have complained about it. It was better to let you do this than to listen to your complaints.”

Agnus really didn’t treat Haku as if she was her employer even though she was.

In fact, Haku was even more than Agnus’ employer. It could even be said that Haku was Agnus’ creator since she was the one that summoned Agnus through the dungeon system.

But instead of treating Haku like she was her master, it was almost as if Agnus treated her as if she was family.

It just went to show the close relationship between the two of them.

No, it went to show the close relationship that Haku had with all of her subordinates.

Since this had been agreed on, Lin Fan took out his trump card.

“Big sister, do you want to see the demonstration that we’ve prepared?”

The moment that Haku heard this, there was a smile that appeared on her face as she turned to look at Rokuko who came forward.

When it came to Rokuko, Haku really had no resistance at all.

So that was why she was pulled away by Rokuko without any hesitation.

When she was gone, Duke Rosewood let out a sigh of relief.

In the end, Haku was the empress and the one that was above Duke Rosewood.

It could be said that this was like a meeting with his boss which made him nervous. Even more so since Duke Rosewood was someone that didn’t interact with others that much to begin with.

Lin Fan just helped him up with a smile and said, “It seems that you’ve gotten into the business of national defense.”

Duke Rosewood gave a nod before a serious look appeared on his face.

He knew what it meant to get into this business.

And in the end, he was a noble and the scion of the Rosewood Family.

It would be a lie to say that he didn’t have pride in that name.
