A faint smile appeared on Lin Fan’s face when he heard this.
Even though she said it as if she had done it for a special reason, Lin Fan knew why Ye Qing Huan really did it. After spending a decent amount of time with her, Lin Fan had a good idea of what kind of person Ye Qing Huan was.
So even though she said it like this, he knew that she had let them go on purpose because they were innocent.
The only crime that they had ever committed was perhaps joining the Clear Star Sect, but it wasn’t as if they had a choice in this cultivation world. It was only by joining a sect that one would be able to learn how to cultivate and in many places, not having any cultivation meant being stepped over.

When the support team from the Heavenly Demon Sect arrived, they didn’t waste any time in collecting the kids that had been trapped in the forest.
They knew exactly what they were doing, so it wasn’t as if there was anything that Lin Fan or Ye Qing Huan had to do.
However, it also seemed like many of the kids were in a daze when they were being rescued.
It was as if they didn’t even register that they were being rescued by someone.
There were some kids that cried and screamed while they were trapped, but these ones just sat there in a daze as if they didn’t feel anything from the outside world. It was as if they had completely lost all of their senses.

The words that Ye Qing Huan suddenly said caught Lin Fan off guard.

Lin Fan was again surprised, but he gave another nod to show that he understood before waiting to hear what Ye Qing Huan had to say.
“They’ve been put under a mind control state. It’s an array that’s most likely drawn on a part of their body that keeps them in a dazed state like this. As for why there are only a few of them that are in this state, it’s because they were chosen as the next batch. It would be a problem transporting these kids if they were crying like the others.”
“Next batch?” Lin Fan couldn’t help asking in a slightly confused tone.
After all, he knew that the Mount Hua Sword Sect wanted these kids for some reason, but he didn’t actually know what they were for. He had thought that they would be new disciples of the Mount Hua Sword Sect, but there was something strange about the way that Ye Qing Huan said this.
In particular, it was the way that she called them a ’batch’.
Ye Qing Hua just gave a slow nod before saying, “Sword puppets.”
“Sword puppets?” Lin Fan was even more confused when he heard this.

The main thing was that he didn’t know what these sword puppets were.

After a while, Lin Fan said, “I know what you’re trying to do. You’re trying to make me think that those four righteous sects are completely evil, right? So that I won’t betray the Heavenly Demon Sect?”
Ye Qing Huan’s smile disappeared when she heard this before she said with a serious look, “I never had these intentions. I just brought you here to do a mission while also taking the chance to show you the dark side of those righteous sects. But I don’t want you to be mistaken, there are also good people in those righteous sects. I just want you to be prepared for what kind of things they are capable of.”
Lin Fan didn’t know what to say when she looked at him like this.
