Chapter 2003 2003: Cap 1997(Revisited): I wasn't expecting that...
Pov Ayden:
In the midst of Aszarmin’s battle against the Avatar of Rebirth, I was already realizing the flaws in him being chosen as her opponent.
“(That idiot really went against the plan.)” (me)
“(You know his love for that woman, you knew he wouldn’t follow any plan if he had to fight her.)” (Guerra)
“(What are you trying to do with all this?)” (Guerra)
“(My plan doesn’t interfere with yours, my lord.)” (me)
“(Better that it doesn’t, because we’ll only have one opportunity.)” (Guerra)
“[It seems both participants are out of combat, so I declare a draw for the first confrontation!]” (Igor)
While I was lost in conversation with Guerra, my subordinate, who fell unconscious after having all his physical strength drained, is brought by the System, which lays him on the ground.
His body had many cuts and puncture wounds, and these are only minor injuries; only his soul endured the brunt of the damage, but even so, he will be able to fight again.
“Professor, who do you think is part of their group?” (Andryus)
“I’m not sure. The Twin Entities Avatars were certain to be here. The other could be that unknown Avatar, and one of them could also be Callidora’s daughter.” (me)
“As for the last one, I have no way of knowing.” (me)
“Heferius, heal him.” (me)
“We can’t get rid of this wretch!” (Heferius)
“I know you don’t like him because their powers are opposites, but remember your positions and obey when I give an order!” (I)
“Yes, sir…” (Heferíus)
“< Mandate of Nature: Blessing of the World >” (Heferíus)
Heferíus’s arms multiply into 3, each making a hand sign. The power of nature responds to his call as it is forged by his Aura before being sent to Aszarmin, who floated with his Soul being nourished by nature.
“(I brought two who can make use of nature, but I would have preferred Heferius to have been the one who fought that woman; it would have been an easier fight.)” (me)
“(Don’t underestimate the Bearer of Chaos; even I didn’t dare be certain of anything when Paradox was involved.)” (War)
“(He is not Paradox; his actions are always directed towards achievable goals, making him predictable to a certain extent.)” (me)
“(That’s why I’m almost certain that one of his Divine Beasts must be present; I just don’t know which one.)” (me)
“(There are two potentials of Unpredictability between them: the Dragon that carries part of the Concept of Zenos and that thing I don’t know how to identify.)” (War)
“[Now let’s begin the next confrontation!]” (Igor)
“It seems the next contest is about to begin.” (Me)
“(I hope it’s one of the other opponents, the sooner I can see them, the sooner I can plan countermeasures against them.)” (Me)
Ding!
“[ Heferíus X Sarazar ]”
“That’s bad, that’s one of the worst scenarios.” (Me)
I look at Heferíus finishing the treatment, we have little time, the notification is about to start, I nod to him and throw a stone box for him to catch.
“[Now let’s go to the random arena selection!]” (Igor)
“[Begin!]” (Igor)
Ding!
“[ Technology City ]”
“[Invite the participants of the second battle!]” (Igor)
As soon as the words of the Avatar of Commerce rang out, Heferíus disappeared, leaving only a few grains of dust behind. Fortunately, it seems the box went with him, just as he planned. I’m glad the System didn’t interfere and adhered so rigidly to the rules.
“The rest of you, prepare yourselves, don’t underestimate your opponents.” (me)
“Yes, sir Ayden!!!” (everyone)

Pov Sarazar:
I then realized the space had changed; I was already in another place. What surrounded me was an endless number of skyscrapers with thousands of floors, almost covering the skies. The ground was covered in metal, with metal vehicles everywhere.
Elemental energies are almost nonexistent here, but there is still raw energy coursing through everything behind the metal that adorns this desolate place.
I leap high, traversing the rooftops until I’m standing on one of the tallest buildings, where I have a view of the city’s vastness, hundreds of kilometers in every direction, and above us, a dome of energy separating the city from the sea of stars that surrounds it.
“This place is not to my liking…” (Heferíus)
Soon I hear a voice, and when I turn my eyes towards it, there was my opponent, still shrouded in his cloak and armor. For some reason, he has an open box in front of him.
“[I’m starting the first match!]” (Igor)
“[On one side we have the only Avatar of the Tomb of Legacy, Lolth!]” (Igor)
“[On the other side we have the Avatar of War, Heferius!]” (Igor)
“[The battle begins!!!]” (Igor)
With the start of the battle, I advanced towards him. He was less than a kilometer away and I should have been able to reach him quickly, but before even reaching halfway, I noticed the box he was holding fall to the ground while he held a dagger in his hands.
The dagger wasn’t made of metal, it was made of bone. Its blade was a thin, segmented column with what looked like extremely sharp ribs on the sides, forming a macabre serrated blade.
The dagger’s hilt was made of a leather strip bearing symbols I didn’t recognize, but the most striking thing about the dagger wasn’t its appearance, it was its presence, charged with the power of a Concept, a power I didn’t expect to see used by an Avatar of War—the Concept of Death.
“(Use all your power now in the way I’m going to show you!!!)” (Cortana)
“< Relic of Sacrificial Sealing: Activate >” (Heferius)
He plunged the dagger into his chest, and his body dissolved into chains of flesh, bones, and organs that crystallized and rushed towards me. I had only begun to follow what Cortana was telling me, moving her Concept through my body, when the chains appeared too quickly and surrounded my body like a dome.
I tried to break free, I tried to transform into a Dragon, but nothing was working. My power was frozen, and my Concept was moving so slowly that I wouldn’t have been able to do even that if I hadn’t followed Lady Cortana’s command. “(Madam, what is this?)” (me)
“(An Origin Artifact used in sacrificial rites in the past to seal a certain creature.)” (Cortana)
“(You lost before even fighting. If I hadn’t given the orders at the right moment, you would have died instantly upon being sealed, and now you would need me personally present to release you.)” (Cortana)
“(Fortunately, Zenos is present and should be able to handle this with his Chaos Concept.)” (Cortana)
“[It seems one of the participants can no longer continue the fight, so I declare participant Heferíus the winner!]” (Igor)
“…” (me)
It wasn’t long before I heard the Avatar of Commerce speaking as if he were right beside me, already declaring my opponent’s victory, just as Cortana had said. Even after minutes, I couldn’t break this damn prison, and so I had to accept this defeat.
——————–
Pov Zenos:
The city where they were was impressive, the buildings, the stunning architecture, the vehicles, the dome that holds the entire city together—it was an interesting battlefield.
As soon as I saw the two facing each other, I noticed the enemy seemed relaxed, and I saw the box he was already opening. Soon Igor made the announcement, and the battle began, or so I thought.
The battle lasted mere seconds. As soon as Sarazar made his move, his opponent pulled a strange dagger from a box that seemed to be made of stone, then plunged it into his own heart.
It was somewhat disgusting to see his body disintegrate afterward, its parts taking the form of a crystallizing chain. The blood wasn’t a problem, but seeing the bones and organs squeezed into a chain was horrifying.
The chains moved too fast and instantly surrounded Sarazar. I could see him struggling internally, trying unsuccessfully to escape.
Just when I thought it would be another draw, the opponent’s soul, riddled with holes like Swiss cheese, rose from the ground. The power of the Concept circulated within his soul, healing it instantly before flesh, bones, organs, skin, and even hair emerged from nothing, completely reconstructing his body one by one.
His body didn’t even have a scratch at the end, and he just sat cross-legged, staring at the sphere of chains where Sarazar was trapped.
“[It seems one of the participants can no longer continue the combat, so I declare participant Heferíus the winner!]” (Igor)
“…” (me)
Soon came the announcement, and once again the System appeared, bringing the sphere of chains that had become Sarazar.
“What was that?” (me)
“Zenos, you need to use your power to free him!” (Lolth)
“Believe me, you don’t want this, let me do it.” (Xerxes)
“< Decree of Insanity: Minor Paradoxical Distortion >” (Xerxes)
Before anyone could do anything, Xerxes appeared beside the sphere of chains, her hands glowing with blue and red flames. She was digging inside the sphere as if it were a mound of mud. Each time she touched it, the chains reverted to their original form of organs or blood being thrown behind her. In seconds, she pulled Sarazar out completely unharmed.
“Hinata… hungry…?” (Hinata)
“You can eat…” (me)
Before I could finish, the small, thinned-out body split in two, and she swallowed all of that damned chain stuff before her body returned to normal.
