Chapter 3209: Targeting The Weakness Of The Elemental

Chapter 3209: Targeting The Weakness Of The Elemental

Lin Mu maintained his current rhythm; constant strikes, suppressive force, and control over the elemental’s movement.

Minutes dragged by in a storm of flame and frost.

HONG LONG!

After about fifteen minutes, Daoist Chu and Meng Bai completed the Yin Attuning Formation in its Frost Dissipating mode. The moment it activated, the elemental’s influence began to wane.

"It’s working!" Meng Bai shouted as he saw the creeping frost recede.

"Now we just need to maintain it and repair the talismans as they burn out," Daoist Chu said, already sending replacements flying across the array.

Lin Mu gauged the radius: roughly a kilometer in diameter.

"This should suffice. Losing this many trees is acceptable," he muttered, continuing his assault.

ROAR!

Little Shrubby shifted tactics, moving like lightning. He blurred across the snowy battlefield, attacking from all angles before the elemental could respond. Trails of flame and arcs of lightning followed his movements, forming a blazing storm that scorched the sky.

Seeing this, an old idea came to Lin Mu’s mind.

"Little Shrubby, remember the time we fought the Bronze Tribe Wolf?" he called through their mental link.

The beast’s eyes gleamed with recognition.

ROAR!

Little Shrubby sprinted in wide circles around the Great Ice Elemental.

With each stride, fire and lightning poured from his claws, forming a blazing ring that sealed the creature within a pillar of flame. Lightning coiled through the inferno like divine serpents, striking against the elemental’s icy shell.

GROAAAAA!

The Great Ice Elemental howled, its voice now trembling with pain for the first time. The connection it held with the surrounding frost was being cut off.

"Perfect!" Cattaleya shouted, sensing her moment was near.

She retreated nearly two kilometers away and raised her greatsword high.

Closing her eyes, she gathered Immortal Essence, her aura compressing and flaring until her body shone with red-white light. The essence then flowed into her weapon, the Duskthorn Sword, making it blaze like a star.

RUMBLE!

When she opened her eyes again, her gaze burned with divine focus. The very air trembled under her power.

WHOOSH!

She leapt into the sky, cutting a brilliant arc across the heavens.

"Crashing Skies, Cascading Stars!" Cattaleya roared.

Her blade descended like a meteor, tearing open the air and leaving a canyon of light in its wake. The stars seemed to pour into the gash, cascading downward like a celestial waterfall.

Lin Mu and Little Shrubby kept the elemental distracted, giving it no time to brace itself. The attack struck directly at the creature’s peak.

BOOOOOOOM!

KACHA!

The impact was earth-shattering. Cracks spread through the elemental’s massive body, deep fissures like crevasses in a glacier. Icy vapor erupted from within, forming a storm of shards.

HISS! HISS!

At that exact moment, the twin serpents hissed in excitement.

"You found it?!" Lin Mu’s eyes widened.

"Go forth!" he commanded.

The twins darted through the air like streaks of shadow and light, entering the deep fissures of the elemental’s body. Its freezing energy washed over them harmlessly, only fueling their hunger.

Lin Mu watched as two glowing ribbons, one white, one black slithered through the cracks before striking simultaneously at a point deep within its core.

GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

The Great Ice Elemental screamed, its voice splitting the clouds as its body began to collapse.

"What happened?" Daoist Chu called out, unable to see what the twins had done.

"They struck its core," Lin Mu said, smiling faintly.

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

With its core destroyed, the Great Ice Elemental shattered. Massive chunks of ice fell like comets, smashing into the ground and forming craters. The earth trembled beneath the impact as trees splintered and snowstorms rose from the explosions.

THUD! THUD! THUD!

Within a minute, the elemental’s body had collapsed entirely, reduced to a sprawling mound of glittering blue ice spread across the clearing.

"Is it over?" Elyon asked cautiously, eyes scanning the wreckage.

"It’s over," Lin Mu said, deactivating his armor and landing beside the ice pile.

Meng Bai and Daoist Chu joined him, their expressions filled with relief.

"I thought it would take longer," Meng Bai admitted.

"It would have, if not for the twins," Lin Mu replied, scanning the rubble. "Where are you two?"

HISS! HISS!

The twin serpents emerged from the shattered ice, both holding a glowing blue crystal the size of a melon with thier tails.

"What’s this?" Lin Mu muttered.

"If I recall correctly, that should be the Elemental Heart," Cattaleya said, scratching her head.

"This is what they look like?" Daoist Chu added, eyes wide.

Elemental Hearts were the condensed essence of fallen elementals... pure, crystallized energy valued beyond measure.

"Look what we got!" Xiao Yang hissed proudly.

"It looks tasty!" Xiao Yin added.

Lin Mu chuckled softly, hearing their true voices in his mind. To everyone else, it looked as if they were merely offering their prize to him.

He took the heart into his hands, its dark blue surface shining faintly.

"Is it cold?" Meng Bai asked, reaching to touch it.

"Huh... it’s not?" he said in surprise.

"Strange," Lin Mu said. "Its energy is completely contained... not leaking at all."

He gazed at the heart, knowing it was more than a trophy. It was a sign of victory over the unnatural storm that had threatened them all.

As everyone gathered around to take a look at the Ice Elemental Heart, they couldn’t help but marvel at it. Not only could they feel a pure Ice Elemental Energy from it, they could also tell that Ice Dao Traces naturally gathered around it.

"The Ice Heart of a Great Ice Elemental... If this was sold in the market, I’m sure it would sell for at least twenty or even thirty million High Grade Immortal Stones." Elyon muttered.

"Probably." Cattaleya said, grinning at the sight of their ’reward’. "So how do we split it?" she asked, not wanting to miss out on her share.

"Can we even split it? Won’t the energy leak or something?" Meng Bai asked, not knowing much about the Elemental Hearts.

"It’s fine to split it. The energy is highly condensed and stable." Lin Mu confirmed.
