Chapter 858 How to Attract?
Villain Ch 858. How to Attract?
He found an open spot near the entrance and expertly guided the bike into place. The engine’s growl subsided as he turned off the ignition, leaving a brief. Allen removed his helmet, shaking out his hair and taking a deep breath of the cool morning air. The sensation was refreshing, grounding him after the ride.
Several members who had just arrived turned their heads, drawn by the distinct sound and sleek design of his motorcycle. Their eyes lingered on him, a few nodding in appreciation. One man, dressed in a tracksuit and carrying a gym bag, walked by and gave Allen a thumbs-up.
“Nice ride, dude,” he said, his voice carrying a note of genuine admiration.
“Thanks,” Allen replied with a smile, feeling a brief flicker of pride. He appreciated the acknowledgment, even if he wasn’t usually one to seek it out.
He took a moment to secure his helmet on the bike and removed his gloves, tucking them into his jacket pockets. As he did, he noticed a few women nearby, gym bags slung over their shoulders, giving him discreet but interested glances. One of them, a tall brunette with a confident stride, caught his eye and smiled warmly. Allen returned the smile, feeling a pleasant mix of confidence and anticipation.
He ran a hand through his hair, trying to tame it into some semblance of order. It was a futile effort, really, but it made him feel a bit more presentable. Satisfied, he slung his gym bag over his shoulder and made his way to the entrance.
Allen stepped into the gym and went to the locker room. But as he crossed the lobby, he heard hurried footsteps behind him. He turned slightly, catching sight of a young man in his mid-twenties, with an eager expression and an inquisitive glint in his eye, approaching him.
“Hey, excuse me!” the guy called out, slightly breathless from jogging to catch up. “I saw you parking that bike out there. It’s incredible! What type is it? I don’t think I’ve ever seen one like it before.”
Allen paused, turning to face the young man fully. He could see the genuine curiosity and excitement in the guy’s eyes. “It’s a special order,” Allen said, a hint of pride creeping into his voice. “It’s a custom one.”
The young man’s eyes widened, his admiration palpable. “Wow, custom one? So, like, special motorbike or something?”
“Something like that,” Allen replied with a modest smile. He wasn’t used to this kind of attention and felt a bit awkward under the scrutiny. “I’m not sure they’re sold freely. It was a special order.”
The guy looked even more impressed, a touch of envy in his expression. “So you ordered it directly from the factory?”
Allen nodded, his smile becoming a bit more awkward. “Yeah, something like that.”
“Man, that’s awesome,” the young man said, but there was a note of disappointment in his voice. “I was hoping to get one like that someday. Guess I’ll have to keep dreaming.”
“You never know,” he said encouragingly. “If you’re passionate about it, there’s always a way.”
The guy gave a half-hearted smile. “Yeah, maybe. Anyway, thanks for talking to me. That bike is seriously cool.”
“Thanks,” Allen replied, his smile returning more naturally this time. “I appreciate it.”
Then the young man turned to leave.
Allen made his way through the bustling lobby and into the locker room. He found an empty locker and swiftly deposited his gym bag and belongings inside.
He glanced around, half-expecting to see Gerry already there. But the locker room was relatively empty, the early hour leaving it less populated than usual. Allen checked his watch and realized he had arrived a bit earlier than normal. Gerry, who was typically the early bird, had not yet shown up.
“Well, might as well get started,” Allen muttered to himself, deciding not to waste any time.
He made his way to the gym floor, the expanse of workout equipment and mirrored walls reflecting the members already hard at work. The smell of rubber, sweat, and a faint hint of disinfectant filled the air.
Allen decided to start with a warm-up, something he usually did after Gerry arrived. Today, however, he was setting the pace. He moved to an open area in front of the gym’s large mirror, which spanned an entire wall. The mirror allowed him to check his posture and form, ensuring every movement was precise.
He began with some light stretching, focusing on loosening up his muscles. The stretching routine was one he typically saved for cooling down, but today, he felt the need to ease into his workout. He hadn’t been to the gym as regularly lately, and his body needed the extra care. Each stretch felt like a slow awakening, muscles lengthening and joints loosening.
His mind wandered. This was the first time he had beaten Gerry to the gym. Gerry was always the one pushing him, motivating him to go harder and faster.
‘How to attract their attention?’ he pondered, his mind drifting back to Sophia. He knew he needed to project confidence and command the room, but that wasn’t something he was used to doing intentionally. Attention usually found him, whether he wanted it or not.
Allen continued his warm-up, his focus on his reflection in the mirror, ensuring each movement was precise and effective. As he transitioned into a series of lunges, he started to notice something unusual. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a few gym members watching him. At first, he thought it was just his imagination, a trick of the light or a coincidence.
But as he shifted into high knees, the glances continued, some more obvious than others.
‘Huh?’ Allen thought, a flicker of confusion crossing his mind. He maintained his poker face, not wanting to give away his surprise. Usually, when he was at the gym, he was entirely focused on his workout or occasionally chatting with Gerry. He rarely paid attention to his surroundings, content to stay in his own bubble of concentration and effort. This was different, though.
This time, the attention was palpable.
‘Wait, what?’ he thought, trying to piece together the reason behind the sudden interest. He racked his brain, wondering if he had done something out of the ordinary. His routine was the same as always, nothing special or particularly attention-grabbing. He continued with his warm-up, transitioning into arm swings and torso twists, his mind a whirl of speculation. ‘Have I done something?’ Allen wondered, his movements slowing slightly as he tried to figure it out. He couldn’t recall anything that might have drawn this kind of attention. Everything seemed normal, yet the glances persisted. He caught sight of a few female members, their smiles warm and inviting. This only added to his confusion.
