Chapter 818 Don't Go Snooping Through My Stuff
Villain Ch 818. Don’t Go Snooping Through My Stuff
Allen stood in the bathroom, drying his body with a towel. The steam from the hot shower still hung in the air, creating a foggy ambiance. A soft hum escaped his lips as he followed the strains of a familiar song from his playlist. Music had always been a refuge for him, a way to lift his spirits. His mood wasn’t entirely fixed, but it was better. Much better.
He wrapped the towel around his waist and stood in front of the mirror, the reflection staring back at him. He leaned in, using his hands to comb through his damp hair in a random, carefree manner. His movements were unhurried, almost meditative. He reached for the skincare products neatly arranged on the counter, his fingers lingering over a bottle of serum.
Shea had recommended it to him, and he had to admit, he kind of liked the scent. It was subtle and calming.
As he applied the serum to his face, he felt a slight sense of relief. The routine, though simple, gave him a sense of normalcy. He did it all casually, knowing he had left his room unlocked on purpose. In case Kai knocked and didn’t get an answer, he could leave a message or something.
And if Kai or Alex needed to grab any party planning materials from his table, they could do so without waiting for him.
The scent of the serum filled his senses. He took a deep breath, feeling a bit more centered. Just as he finished applying the serum, he heard a faint noise outside the bathroom. His heart skipped a beat. Was someone in his room? He quickly dismissed the thought, figuring it was probably Kai or Alex grabbing something they needed.
Once Allen finished applying the serum, he felt a semblance of calm. He turned off his playlist, the soothing music fading away, leaving the room in silence. He stepped out of the bathroom casually, still drying his hair with a smaller towel, expecting to find his room just as he had left it.
But as he emerged, he froze. There, standing near his table, was Azura. She held the guest list in her hand, her expression a mix of curiosity and guilt. The sound of the bathroom door opening made her turn, and their eyes met. For a moment, the world seemed to stand still.
A frown appeared on Allen’s forehead, confusion and irritation flickering in his eyes. “Azura?” he asked, his voice tinged with disbelief.
Azura’s face went pale, and the guest list slipped from her hand, fluttering to the floor. A scream almost escaped her lips, but she quickly clapped a hand over her mouth, stifling the sound. Her eyes widened in shock as she took in the sight of Allen, standing there with nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist.
“I… I didn’t mean to—” Azura stammered, her voice muffled behind her hand. She looked like a deer caught in headlights, completely unprepared for this confrontation.
Allen took a step forward, his frown deepening. “What are you doing here?” he demanded, trying to keep his voice steady despite the embarrassment and anger simmering inside him. “Why are you going through my stuff?” His face looked stoic. His reaction was different than what he had shown to Alice and Bella in the past.
It was him who allowed Bella and Alice to enter his apartment, but this time Azura even entered without his permission. That was very impudent. So he was not interested in putting on a nervous face even though he was literally half naked. It wasn’t his fault after all.
Azura dropped her hand from her mouth, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. “I just… I wanted to help. I was worried about you and—” She struggled to find the right words, her mind racing.
“Worried? By snooping through my things?” Allen cut her off, his tone harsher than he intended. He was angry, yes, but more than that, he felt exposed.
“I’m sorry,” Azura said, her voice barely above a whisper. “I didn’t mean to invade your privacy. I just thought…” Her words paused as she didn’t know what to say anymore.
“S-Sorry, Allen. I didn’t know you were taking a shower. I thought you were writing. I never intended to invade your privacy,” Azura stammered, her voice halting and filled with regret.
Allen’s frown deepened, lines etched across his forehead. “Who told you I was writing?” he asked, his tone sharper than he intended.
“Uh, Kai mentioned that when he knocked on your room yesterday and you didn’t answer it, it turned out you were writing,” she explained, her words tumbling out quickly as she tried to justify her actions.
“So Kai let you in?” Allen’s frown remained, his suspicion evident. The thought seemed preposterous; Kai would never dare to let someone into his room without his explicit permission.
“No, no, no,” Azura said in a panic, shaking her head vigorously. “He asked me to come back later. He said that maybe you were writing after we knocked on the door several times and didn’t get a response,” she added, her nervousness palpable. Her eyes were fixed on Allen, though she desperately wanted to look away, feeling the weight of his intense gaze.
“And you still came in despite him saying that?” Allen pressed, his voice a mix of disbelief and frustration.
Azura smiled nervously, guilt written all over her face. “Yes,” she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
Allen shook his head, running a hand through his damp hair. He was still only in his towel, the reality of the situation making him feel even more exposed. “Azura, you can’t just walk into someone’s room without permission. This isn’t okay.”
“I know, I know,” Azura said quickly, her voice filled with remorse. “I was just… I was worried about you, Allen. I just wanted to help.”
Allen took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing thoughts. He appreciated her concern, but this felt like a step too far. “Look, I get that you’re worried, and I appreciate that. But this isn’t the way to show it. If you have questions or concerns, just ask me. Don’t go snooping through my stuff.”
Azura nodded, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. “I’m really sorry, Allen. I thought I could help.” Your adventure continues at My Virtual Library Empire
