Ugly, Fat, and Vicious? My Five Beast Husbands Are Obsessed Anyway

Chapter 43: How Do Four People Sleep Together?

Chapter 43: Chapter 43: How Do Four People Sleep Together?

And so, the three of them followed Su Luoluo’s directions, emerging from the Salt Well Cave and heading for the Red Land.

The Red Land wasn’t far from the Salt Well Cave, and the group of four arrived after a short walk.

Gazing at the expanse of red earth before them, Mo Xuan asked, "How are we supposed to make a pot out of this pile of mud?"

What Mo Xuan saw as just mud was, in Su Luoluo’s eyes, the special kind of clay used for making pottery.

She slid off Mo Xuan’s back and scooped up a handful of the soil. After kneading it for a moment, she found it was soft and very malleable.

She wouldn’t even need to do any initial processing to refine it; she could use it directly to shape the pottery.

Without a word, she picked up a stick from the ground, dug out a large chunk of the clay, and began to knead it into its unfired form.

After a little while, she had formed a small teacup.

She held it up for the three bewildered beastmen to see. "You shape the clay into a form, then fire it. That’s how you make a vessel for holding things."

Although the three of them had seen Su Luoluo shape the mud into a vessel, they remained skeptical of her words.

One look at their faces and Su Luoluo knew what they were thinking. ’They probably think I’m going to try and hold things in it just like this.’

She ignored them and instructed them to roll the clay into long coils, which would make her work much easier.

She planned to make the ceramic pot quite large so it could hold more food.

Especially now that four of them were eating together, the pot needed to be even bigger.

’And I’ll make a medium-sized one, too, so we can have hot pot.’

’A round one for boiling soup.’

’I should also make a teapot, for boiling water and steeping tea.’

Thinking about it, she had a lot to make.

A teapot, teacups, small, medium, and large pots, some jars for oil and salt... oh, and some plates and bowls.

As Su Luoluo crafted more and more items, the three beastmen gradually realized she was serious about all this.

’But can these things really be used after being fired, just like she said?’

They had never heard of clay being fired.

No matter how they looked at it, it seemed like a young cub playing in the mud.

However, none of them dared to say a word. They could only watch in silence and wait for the results.

Su Luoluo left the pots plain, but when it came time to make the bowls, she glanced at the three beastmen and decided to add some patterns to help them tell their bowls apart.

Xiao Ye was a Snake Beastman, so she used a sharp twig to draw a snake for him.

Mo Xuan was a Black Panther Beastman. Even though his beast form was quite large, Su Luoluo still managed to draw a Black Panther.

Fu Feng was a Dragon Sparrow Beastman. She didn’t know how to draw a Dragon Sparrow, so she drew a chicken and simply added a few long plumes to its tail.

’It doesn’t really look like one, but chickens and birds are more or less related, so I guess that makes them distant cousins, right?’

After finishing bowls for the three of them, Su Luoluo didn’t forget to make one for Luan Ting as well.

He didn’t eat with them, but she often brought him food, so it would be nice to give him a bowl.

As for Nantu, Su Luoluo had no intention of making him one.

’I’ve put so much effort into these. If he doesn’t like it and smashes it, all my work would be for nothing.’

Rolling clay coils was a boring task, and the three beastmen watched Su Luoluo as they worked.

When they suddenly saw her drawing on the bowls, they grew curious.

Mo Xuan pointed at the bowl she was working on. "What are you doing now?"

Without looking up, Su Luoluo answered casually, "I’m drawing on them as markers. These bowls are for you, one for each, so you can tell them apart."

Hearing that Su Luoluo was making them each a personal bowl, the three of them couldn’t help but peer closer.

After a moment, Xiao Ye couldn’t resist pointing at a pattern. "These things you’re drawing... don’t tell me they’re supposed to be us!"

No one had to ask how he guessed. The drawings were hideous, but it was painfully obvious what they were supposed to represent.

"Yep," Su Luoluo said proudly. "See? This snake is yours, this panther is Mo Xuan’s, and the remaining Dragon Sparrow is Fu Feng’s."

As the three of them took their respective bowls, the corners of their mouths twitched.

Fu Feng was the first to lose his composure. "You call this thing—a chicken with a few blades of grass stuck on it—a Dragon Sparrow?"

Su Luoluo, who thought she had done a rather good job, protested, "Isn’t it? Look, I added the claws and feathers and everything."

"And this snake?" Xiao Ye couldn’t resist chiming in. "Its head and tail are the same size, and it’s all segmented. Are you sure this isn’t an earthworm?"

"Of course not. I saw your true form that one time, and your body segments looked just like this."

Xiao Ye’s face darkened. "Those are *scales*, not segments."

’He was a Fifth Rank Snake Beast! A majestic, awe-inspiring Snake Beast! And she’d drawn him to look like an earthworm.’

"And this thing that looks like a dog... you’re calling it a panther?"

"It is! If you look closely, you can even see the spots I drew."

’Spots...’ Mo Xuan stared at the little holes she had poked into the clay. ’It’d be more accurate to call them "panther holes."’

’Are you sure this isn’t a dog?’

The three exchanged glances. Upon discovering that all their portraits were equally ugly, a miraculous sense of balance was restored to their hearts.

Once all the items were shaped, Su Luoluo had the three men gather a large pile of firewood. They got the fire blazing, and she carefully placed her unfired pottery into the flames.

"There," she said. "Once they’ve finished firing, we can use them."

"How long do they need to fire?" Mo Xuan asked, his initial skepticism slowly giving way to curiosity.

They had spent the morning gathering salt and the afternoon making pottery. By now, the sky was gradually growing dark.

Seeing how late it was, Xiao Ye also asked, "How long will the firing take? It’s getting dark, we should be heading back."

Su Luoluo watched the fire, recalling how long it took to fire pottery back in the Post-apocalypse. "About one whole night."

"A whole night? That long?" Xiao Ye said. "Then we’ll come back tomorrow?"

"No. I have to stay here and watch it. If something unexpected happens, all this work will be for nothing."

’If I just leave a fire burning here, who knows if some ’do-gooder’ might put it out, or if something else might happen to stop the firing process.’

"So, we have to sleep here tonight," Su Luoluo stated calmly.

"Sleep here?"

Fu Feng was taken aback. ’This place is filthy!’

’How are we supposed to sleep here?!’

Su Luoluo nodded. "There’s no choice. I have to watch the fire."

Mo Xuan didn’t particularly care; he could sleep anywhere. ’But how are the four of us going to sleep here together?’ he wondered.

There were no caves nearby, not even any trees for shelter.

All he could see was a row of shrubs behind them.

’The grassy area in front is clear enough to sleep on, but... are all four of us supposed to huddle together?’

At that thought, Mo Xuan’s brow furrowed slightly as he looked at Su Luoluo. ’Is she going to sleep with us, too?’

’Three Beastmen and a female, all huddled together?’

’No matter how you looked at it, the situation was just... weird.’

Xiao Ye had clearly had the same thought. His brow was knitted tightly as he looked at Su Luoluo. "Where are you going to sleep, then?"

Su Luoluo pointed to the grassy patch in front of them. "I’ll be fine sleeping there."

Mo Xuan and Xiao Ye looked at her and said in unison, "We’ll sleep there too."

Su Luoluo hadn’t expected them to want to sleep there as well. She ventured, "Well, in that case, I guess we have no choice but to sleep together."

Mo Xuan: "..."

Xiao Ye: "..."

Fu Feng: "!"

But it seemed there was no other way.
