Ugly, Fat, and Vicious? My Five Beast Husbands Are Obsessed Anyway

Chapter 40: Successful Reverse Husband-Taming

Chapter 40: Chapter 40: Successful Reverse Husband-Taming

This was the first time Su Luoluo had seen her beastmen so actively vying for her.

After all, just a month ago, she was a pariah despised by all.

These beastmen felt disgusted even glancing in her direction.

But now, she had become "sought-after."

Even if it was only because of some food.

’But as long as I’m sought-after, who cares about the reason? My status has undeniably changed, hasn’t it?’

Su Luoluo looked at the several of them pitching themselves but didn’t make a choice immediately.

Seeing Su Luoluo still hesitating, the beastmen eagerly began to promote themselves.

They knew that helping Su Luoluo meant getting a special treat—something delicious they had never tasted before.

Last time, Xiao Ye had gotten that incredibly tasty popcorn.

Who wouldn’t want an opportunity like this?

Mo Xuan recalled the sour plums he’d eaten while carrying Su Luoluo during their escape from the flood.

At the time, he thought Su Luoluo had just found them by chance, but now it was clear she had made them herself.

She was a bit heavy, but that wouldn’t stop him from carrying her. Not when there was delicious food waiting for him.

He was the first to speak, enthusiastically pitching himself. "Pick me! You’ve ridden on my back before, so you know I’m reliable!"

Xiao Ye scoffed. "You have the nerve to bring that up? Who was it that got all out of breath? You have zero stamina."

After putting down Mo Xuan, Xiao Ye quickly added, "You’d be better off picking me. I maintain a steady pace, so you won’t get jostled around."

Hearing Xiao Ye, Fu Feng also chuckled. "You? You’re covered in scales. She’d be lucky not to get her butt scraped raw! Hit one uneven patch of road, and it would feel like sitting on a bed of thorns."

"You..." Stung by Fu Feng’s sharp tongue, Xiao Ye looked ready to fight him.

But Mo Xuan, who was listening in, chimed in with his full agreement. "Exactly. His scales are nothing like my soft fur. I’m much more comfortable to ride."

Fu Feng showed Mo Xuan no mercy either, putting him down to lift himself up. "What good is soft fur if the ride isn’t smooth? My feathers are the best. Comfortable and stable. I’m the beastman who provides the best passenger experience."

"What’s so great about it? A gust of wind up there, and she’d freeze solid," Xiao Ye couldn’t resist retorting.

"Pick me. I’m steady."

"Pick me. The ride is comfortable."

"Pick me, and you’ll see a whole different kind of scenery. Don’t you want to experience what it’s like to be in the sky?"

The three of them started bickering, red-faced and shouting. Listening to them gave Su Luoluo a headache.

Finally, she pointed at Fu Feng. "I’ll go with you. I’ve never flown before, after all."

Fu Feng wore a triumphant expression. "Don’t you worry. The view from up there is sure to be beautiful."

The other two were disappointed they weren’t picked. Mo Xuan sniped from the side, "Let’s just hope it’s not windy tomorrow, or who knows if those wings of yours will even get you airborne."

Su Luoluo shot Mo Xuan a glare. "Don’t jinx it. We have to go out tomorrow."

At her words, Mo Xuan immediately fell silent.

At the crack of dawn the next day, Su Luoluo was already up.

She took a water canteen made from a bamboo tube to their outdoor kitchen. After starting a fire for light, she took out the corn flour she had ground the other day.

Then, from a large nutshell jar used for storing eggs, she took out a few.

These eggs were from Xiao Ye and Mo Xuan. She wasn’t sure if they had a particular fondness for eggs, but they always picked them up and gave them to her whenever they found them outside.

Su Luoluo hadn’t cooked with them yet, but she saved them up to use whenever she needed them.

She mixed a small nutshell-full of corn flour with cold water until it was smooth, brushed a layer of oil into the pan, and poured the batter in. In no time, she had a thin pancake sizzling away.

While the bottom was still cooking, Su Luoluo cracked an egg over it, spread it evenly, and sprinkled some chopped green onions on top.

And just like that, a fragrant, crispy egg pancake was ready.

When Fu Feng, Mo Xuan, and Xiao Ye arrived, they were greeted by the fragrant aroma of green onions.

They had thought they’d be making do with wild fruits for breakfast. They never expected Su Luoluo to prepare such a lavish meal, and their fondness for her deepened even more.

After making a few more pancakes, Su Luoluo used leaves to handle them and passed them to the men. "We’re in a hurry today, so we’ll have to make do with this for breakfast."

’This is just ’making do’?’

The three of them wore varied expressions, all thinking the same thing: Su Luoluo was incredible.

After they ate quickly, Su Luoluo packed up the cooking supplies. "You two split this between you and carry it. That way, we can cook later."

Mo Xuan and Xiao Ye dutifully went to one side. Mo Xuan took the pots, bowls, and utensils, while Xiao Ye coiled his snake-like tail around a basin of glistening white lard.

Once everything was ready, Su Luoluo climbed onto Fu Feng’s back and, facing into the wind, gave the order: "Let’s go!"

This was her first time riding on a bird. Even though she figured flying on him would be like a plane from the Post-apocalypse, her heart was still pounding nervously.

Out of nervousness, she could only lie flat against Fu Feng’s back, her hands gripping his neck tightly.

When Fu Feng flew alone, he was free and unencumbered.

But with a person suddenly on his back, he wasn’t just heavier—he was also keenly aware of her body pressed against his.

Su Luoluo’s belly, though smaller than before, was still chubby and rested on his back, making him feel like something was stuck there.

What he found most unbearable was that she was sweating. The smell was difficult for a neat freak like him to tolerate.

However, he was furious but didn’t dare say a word.

He was the one who had volunteered to carry her, after all.

No matter how unpleasant the smell, he could only suffer in silence.

’The things I do for a good meal. It’s not easy.’

Along the way, Su Luoluo spotted some yellow gardenia fruits and directed Fu Feng to stop so she could pick them.

’This stuff is gold,’ she thought. ’You can make so many tasty things with it. There aren’t any back at our "treasure land," so of course I’m not going to pass them up.’

Xiao Ye was the one leading the way, as the sheep had been spotted near his cave.

Therefore, their plan was to search the area surrounding his cave.

From her perch on Fu Feng’s back, Su Luoluo searched from the air.

Xiao Ye was coiled in the trees, gazing into the distance.

Mo Xuan used his own agility to search the sheer cliffs for any trace of the rock sheep.

Finally, after a period of searching together, their efforts paid off. They spotted a few sheep licking something on a rock face.

As soon as she saw them, Su Luoluo immediately told Fu Feng to let her down.

Fu Feng looked at the rocks, his brow furrowing slightly. "The salt you mentioned... it’s these rocks?"

Su Luoluo shook her head. "You’ll see in a minute."

Just as she spoke, the sheep suddenly leaped up the cliff face and vanished from sight.

Su Luoluo quickly shouted, "Quick, follow them! That’s the place!"

The three men looked bewildered, but seeing that Su Luoluo wasn’t joking, they followed the scent trail.

After a short walk, they saw the sheep enter a cave, and the four of them pursued them inside.

They never expected what they would find inside—it was a huge discovery.
