Ugly, Fat, and Vicious? My Five Beast Husbands Are Obsessed Anyway

Chapter 111 - 113: The Two Who Secretly Competed

Chapter 111: Chapter 113: The Two Who Secretly Competed

Su Luoluo was completely unaware of the competition between her two Beastmen.

She glanced to her left at the wild raspberries Luan Ting had picked for her, then to her right at the milk Xiao Ye had brought her. A smile bloomed on her face.

’Not bad,’ she thought. ’The quality of both is excellent.’

"System, is Nantu here yet?"

After confirming she had everything she needed to make the cake, Su Luoluo asked the System silently.

"Host, Nantu is already hiding nearby. You may begin your performance."

After getting the System’s confirmation, Su Luoluo got busy with the task at hand.

First, she needed to separate the egg whites from the yolks.

She had plenty of fresh wild eggs stored in her jar, so she didn’t need to go out and gather more.

She counted the people—seven in total—and cracked a few extra eggs just in case.

After cracking the eggs, she took a clean, dry, and oil-free pottery basin. She added the egg yolks, milk, and corn flour in the proper proportions and began stirring them quickly with a pair of chopsticks she had made herself.

It had to be said, the task looked easy, but stirring it into a fully emulsified state was quite difficult.

Su Luoluo was already tired after just a short while of stirring.

She glanced at Xiao Ye beside her and handed him the pottery basin. "Here, you stir this until it’s completely smooth. It needs to be fully combined, with no lumps at all."

Xiao Ye shot a glance at Luan Ting, who was standing on the other side. He was just about to ask why he got to do nothing.

But in the next moment, Su Luoluo handed Luan Ting a sieve woven from willow branches with some white flour on it, instructing, "Sift out the finer flour."

Now that they both had jobs, Su Luoluo wasn’t showing favoritism to either of them, so naturally, Xiao Ye had no objections.

He took the basin from Su Luoluo and began stirring furiously, his arm moving like a windmill as if to vent his frustration.

Watching Xiao Ye’s hand move so fast it looked like it might take flight, Su Luoluo nodded in satisfaction.

’A Beastman’s strength is really something else,’ she thought. ’I could never match that kind of power.’

With Xiao Ye’s rapid stirring, the yolk mixture was perfectly smooth in just a few moments.

Su Luoluo took the basin back and added the sifted flour. She folded it in using a "Z" pattern until there were no dry streaks left.

Once the yolk mixture was ready, she started on the egg whites.

She didn’t have any lemons, so she used a wild fruit that resembled one instead. She squeezed a few drops into the separated egg whites, then began to whip them, adding sugar in three parts.

This was another task that looked simple but was actually strenuous work.

Seeing how well Xiao Ye had stirred earlier, Su Luoluo gave this job to him as well.

Xiao Ye didn’t refuse. He could tell that this stirring job was much harder than sifting flour.

In his mind, this was a clear sign that Su Luoluo thought he was stronger and more capable than Luan Ting.

That was why she’d given the easier job to the other Beastman.

’What does that prove?’

’It proves that she clearly thinks I’m more impressive than Luan Ting!’

At this thought, Xiao Ye began to whip the egg whites even faster and with more vigor.

Since there was no sugar, Su Luoluo used honey as a substitute, which she added in three parts.

She added the first part when the egg whites formed bubbles the size of large fish eyes. She added more when the foam became finer, and the final part when soft peaks began to form.

After both the egg whites and yolk mixture were prepared, it was time to combine them.

She added one-third of the meringue to the yolk batter and began to fold it in.

Nantu, hiding behind a tree, watched Su Luoluo beating eggs and pouring flour. He couldn’t help but think that whatever she was making looked delicious.

Thinking this, a flicker of anticipation grew within him.

Just as Su Luoluo was folding the batter with gusto, the System’s notification suddenly sounded.

"DING! Congratulations, Host. Nantu’s Heartbeat Value has increased by 0.01 points. Attraction value has increased by 0.02 points."

Hearing this, Su Luoluo almost flung the wooden spatula out of her hand.

’I’m working so hard on this, and that Nantu is still so stingy!’

’All told, it only went up by 0.03 points.’

’He’s such a cheapskate!’

"System, where did that increase in Heartbeat Value and attraction value even come from?" Su Luoluo asked the System through gritted teeth.

"Host, it’s because Nantu thinks the food you’re making looks delicious, which raised his affinity for you," the System replied with a smile.

’So because he *thinks* it *looks* delicious, it went up by a grand total of 0.03 points.’

Su Luoluo huffed. ’If he looks down on it that much, then he can just forget about eating any later!’

’To think my cake is only worth this many points.’

’That Nantu is as insulting as ever.’

Without a mold, Su Luoluo wove one out of vines, lining the bottom with large, clean leaves to serve as parchment paper.

Once the yolk and egg white batters were fully combined, she poured it into the woven vine mold.

She didn’t pour all the batter in at once because she planned to add kiwis and raspberries in the middle.

She poured a layer of batter, added a layer of sliced kiwis and raspberries, then covered it with another layer of batter. She repeated this process until the mold was full.

She decorated the top with a few large wild raspberries.

Once it was ready, Su Luoluo opened the door to her bread oven and placed the cake inside.

A fire had been burning in the oven earlier, so it was still hot. Su Luoluo added a little more firewood.

After doing that, she sliced up some kiwi and placed it in the bread oven as well.

She also put in two chickens and some sweet potatoes.

Nantu watched in shock as Su Luoluo placed one thing after another into that round, bulging mound of earth. There was no fire on top of it.

’Don’t tell me Su Luoluo plans to cook the food just like that!’

’How could that tiny fire underneath that... bread oven... possibly cook all that food?’

’It’s impossible.’

His face was filled with doubt.

However, after a while, a fragrant aroma really did begin to waft from the bread oven.

First, Su Luoluo took out the kiwis. The once plump and juicy fruits had instantly become dry and shriveled, as if they had been baked by the sun.

Next were the two chickens she had wrapped in large leaves. He couldn’t see what they looked like inside the leaves, but from where he was hiding, he could definitely smell a delicious fragrance.

What surprised him most was the round thing she had made earlier with eggs and flour. It had transformed from a flat shape into something puffed up and tall, topped with bright red wild fruits. It looked exceptionally delicious.

[DING! Congratulations, Host! Nantu’s Heartbeat Value has increased by 30 points! Attraction value has increased by 40 points!]

Hearing the DING from the System, Su Luoluo’s mood brightened considerably.

’It came a little late, but it was expected,’ she thought.

"System, what are Nantu’s current strategy values?"

"Nantu’s current Heartbeat Value is 40.01, and his attraction value is 50.1."

She knew exactly where those decimal points came from.

But hearing the System’s mechanical report again, the corner of Su Luoluo’s mouth couldn’t help but twitch.

’These scores with decimals are just ridiculous.’

She glanced at the rustling bushes. She had originally planned to call him over to have some cake, but now...

Holding a grudge, Su Luoluo pretended she hadn’t seen a thing.

She wasn’t about to share her food with someone who thought it was only worth 0.01 Heartbeat Value points.
