The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

Chapter 117 100: Usurping the Evil God's Authority, Wang Ya's Ambition

The Blood-sucking King Vine also had an extremely clear weakness. Its apparent takeover of the entire city was certainly intimidating—a scene of terrifying despair for any ordinary person.

A fair hand extended from his sleeve and opened. Accompanied by a SIZZLING sound, a flickering, nearly invisible flame floated above his palm.

Wang Ya watched with a detached gaze as the Blood-sucking King Vines converged before him. Their tendrils writhed menacingly, as if ready to skewer him into a pincushion at any moment.

He chuckled mockingly. 'Back when I first arrived at the Dark Land Headquarters, I might have been a bit intimidated.

'But now, the power of my Witchcraft and my own Particle Energy Units are a world apart from what they once were.'

His Power had been increasing steadily, without any stagnation.

The first three months had been spent achieving complete mastery over basic Extraordinary Knowledge and Low-tier Witchcraft.

Over the past three months, he had built upon that foundation, delving deeper into the Witchcraft he knew. He used his grasp of Extraordinary Knowledge to drastically improve his spells.

The flames of his Fear-Burning Fire were now more subtle, almost transparent. Its potency had risen to another level, reaching the very threshold of Low-tier Witchcraft.

It could be split into six separate flames or combined into one, unleashing an Energy Witchcraft with the power of 20 degrees.

He coated his palm with a membrane of Particle Energy, then abruptly clenched his fist.

The transparent flame was now grasped in his hand. Inside, the Fire Element Particle Energy continuously collided, generating violent vibrations as the pressure compressed inward.

In the next moment, Wang Ya flung the scorching heat from his palm.

This display left the mortal onlookers completely baffled.

'What is he doing? He just waved his right hand at empty air and is now just standing there. Those vines are about to strike!'

They could almost picture the Master Wizard's body being skewered into a pincushion by those impenetrable cyan vines, his flesh and blood sucked dry.

Many of the Royal Guard had been killed in exactly that way.

"You've got to be kidding me... What is that? How is this possible?"

The Royal Guards' eyes were glued to Wang Ya, and some couldn't stop themselves from crying out.

With no warning, the cyan vines began to writhe. They turned black and charred as burning embers spread rapidly upward. Thick smoke billowed into the air. In the blink of an eye, the same thing was happening to all the vines throughout the city.

The Royal Guards were utterly shocked and horrified. They simply couldn't comprehend what was happening; it was as if an invisible fire was incinerating the vines.

An invisible fire seemed to ignite within Tucson's blue eyes as well. 'The power of a Wizard... such Extraordinary means.'

It seemed another idea was taking root in his mind.

He had heard his father speak of Wizards and describe their Extraordinary powers before, but since Tucson had never witnessed them firsthand, he had been skeptical.

In that moment, he was truly shaken—and utterly captivated.

'If only I could master such power!!'

Thick smoke gradually filled the sky over the city. Birds in the surrounding forests took flight, and other animals began to instinctively retreat from the area.

It was over.

Fire Elemental Energy Witchcraft was the nemesis of such plants, especially a spell that had reached the critical point of twenty degrees of power.

As time passed, the invisible flames, having no more vines to consume, gradually died out. The city walls were charred black, their surfaces so brittle that the blackened debris could be easily crumbled by hand.

He found a thumb-sized black seed among the ruins and placed it into his Silver Bracelet.

After the True Sight Ball recorded the scene, Wang Ya put it away in his sleeve. He then turned to look at the approaching Tucson, his brow furrowing slightly.

The excited, blond-haired Prince knelt directly before Wang Ya and exclaimed, "The Futu Kingdom thanks you for your help, Master Wizard! Please, accompany me to the Capital City. I will express my gratitude for your efforts with the finest delicacies the mortal world has to offer."

"That won't be necessary," Wang Ya said coolly as he walked straight past Tucson.

He could already see that the Prince had other ideas, but he had no desire to waste time on them.

He was even less inclined to indulge the Prince's ambitions. For a Wizard, mortal relationships and social courtesies were completely useless.

The smile on Tucson's face froze, but he forced his facial muscles to move, keeping the smile in place.

"Esteemed Master Wizard, I wish you a safe journey."

Tucson shouted after Wang Ya's retreating figure but received no response.

He had just suffered the greatest blow of his life. Even the throne, which had been within his grasp, now seemed dull and uninteresting.

He stared resentfully in the direction where Wang Ya's figure had disappeared.

......

「Dark Land.」

Upon placing the True Sight Ball into a recess in the mechanized wall, Wang Ya's assigned mission was successfully registered as complete.

A new entry appeared on his Wizard profile.

In the washroom, the figure reflected in the mirror had features that had lost some of their boyishness, replaced by a hardened, more mature look.

More than half a year could change many things. It forced a person to grow, to gain experience.

It could also take a person from immaturity to maturity. To a certain extent, Wang Ya was now a qualified Wizard.

This was true in terms of his mentality, as well as his diligent research and effort on the Wizard Path.

All the effort he had put in, step by step, was now yielding abundant rewards.

He was confident that among the new students of the Lower House, at least among the commoners, his progress was the fastest in every respect.
