The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

Chapter 106 - 96: Advanced Knowledge, Life-and-Death Combat, Foreign Wizard

Wang Ya nodded quickly.

Their arrival didn’t cause much of a stir, but Wang Ya received several extra glances. It was truly rare for a Level 1 Wizard Apprentice to be here.

The pressure on Wang Ya was immense, almost causing him to unleash his Particle Energy. Fortunately, the gazes held no special intent and were merely casual glances.

Wind Wizard and Lando Wizard were also in the crowd, and they proactively walked over.

Wind Wizard chuckled and said, "It seems Wizard Yi Si’s Battlefield has really caught everyone’s attention. Even you showed up."

Lando Wizard, looking as lazy as ever, yawned with sleepy eyes. "Hey, hey, hey, I’m the one who didn’t want to come, okay? What’s so interesting about this fight? I’d rather be getting some more rest."

"No matter how much you watch, if you can’t win, you can’t win. It’s useless. The gap is just too big."

The corner of the mouth on the half of Wind Wizard’s face visible beneath his Golden Mask twitched noticeably. He looked at Wang Ya and said curiously, "This little guy looks familiar. I think I’ve seen him on the Wizard Ship."

Gusai Wizard smiled and said, "A very special little guy. His name is Wang Ya Harak."

Lando Wizard’s eyes widened, and he stared at Wang Ya as if looking at a curiosity, sizing him up from side to side.

Wind Wizard instantly recalled all the information related to the Evil God incident and immediately understood some of Gusai Wizard’s intentions.

He nodded at Wang Ya and said no more, turning his attention back to waiting.

Wang Ya met Lando Wizard’s gaze with a blank expression. The latter couldn’t help but speak. "I don’t see anything special about you. You look totally average. How the hell did you manage to survive the Evil God incident and bring back so much complete information?"

Lando Wizard picked at the sleep in his eye and said dejectedly, "I bet it won’t be long before I’m obsolete too, constantly surpassed by you ridiculous newcomers and becoming just part of the background..."

Wang Ya: "..."

Gusai Wizard walked a short distance forward, and Wang Ya naturally followed.

Wind Wizard clenched his fist, restraining himself, and nudged the still-muttering Lando Wizard with his elbow.

Lando Wizard fell silent, only because a dozen or so figures were approaching in two groups.

The first group was composed of members of the White Bone School, led by the familiar, cold face of Wizard Yi Si.

The second group consisted of four figures surrounded by members of the Wizard Clans. Their faces were terribly pale. This wasn’t an escort; it was clearly a guard detail to keep them in check.

Kaze Antuun walked at the very front alongside Wizard Yi Si, his presence no less imposing.

Almost no one spoke. The atmosphere was exceptionally oppressive.

Before the Stone Gate, which was stained with blood and marked by the passage of ancient times, Wizard Yi Si was the first to extend his right hand under everyone’s gaze.

"Battlefield opening. Combatants, please make your choice: ’Life’ or ’Death’." A cold, neutral voice emanated from the Stone Gate.

Wizard Yi Si’s expression was indifferent as he said, "Deathmatch!"

Forced by Kaze Antuun’s stare, the two from the Bailin Clan and the two from the Purple Gold Flower Clan gritted their teeth and stepped forward, placing their palms on the Stone Gate.

The icy touch and the faint scent of blood that emanated from it made them shudder involuntarily.

Enduring the many unreadable stares, they roared in unison, "Deathmatch!"

BOOM!

Something seemed to shift inside the Stone Gate, and a sound like the tolling of an ancient bell rang out.

"Information confirmed. Deathmatch combatants, please confirm the deathmatch protocol and establish the rules of engagement," the voice continued.

Kaze Antuun and Wizard Yi Si had already discussed this point. The rule would be a time limit: the deathmatch would be held for a set period, and the fight would end when the time was up.

This was also the main reason the four of them had agreed to participate in the deathmatch.

They were Level 3 Wizard Apprentices, after all. There was no way the four of them together couldn’t last for ten minutes.

As long as they held on, they would survive. They would have a future.

An unprecedented light of hope burst forth in their eyes.

"There is one more rule: no Witchcraft Artifacts or any other external aids are permitted. You may only fight with your own power."

Wizard Yi Si’s expression didn’t change in the slightest. He gave the four of them an indifferent glance before his lips moved to speak. "Agreed. Let the battle begin."
