Chapter 1060: A World Unlike Any Other
Chapter 1060: A World Unlike Any Other
"Please stay safe, Master."
The Temple Spirit and Stone Spirit bid Vaan farewell before he dived into the swirling vortex of luminescent water at the bottom of the well. As Vaan passed through the [Gate], he felt the distortion of space and time affect his body and a fearsome premonition of being torn to pieces sprouted in his heart.
The power of laws revolving around the water rift seemed incomparably grand and inviolable as Vaan flowed through the abyssal passage of darkness, partially illuminated by the blue luminescent water.
Nevertheless, before Vaan’s fearsome premonition could become a reality, it suddenly vanished, replaced by overwhelming pressure bearing down on each inch and cell of his body.
Vaan was spat out of the other end of the water rift moments after. Knowing he was about to crash into solid ground, he twisted his body, repositioning himself, and successfully landed on both feet.
However, the stark difference in his weight caused his knees to bend and his upper body to lean forward, almost causing him to fall over. It was as if his weight had increased hundreds of times over.
The incredible sense of heaviness didn’t just restrict his movements but even his power, making him feel as if he had returned to his earlier days as a mortal with added weight.
Fortunately, he could still feel his various powers coursing through his body. As such, it wasn’t as if he had suddenly lost all his powers. Rather, they had become greatly suppressed inside his body by the governing laws of his new environment.
It wouldn’t be easy to draw out his full power, and neither would it achieve the same level of destruction as it did before.
That said, Vaan wasn’t worried by the world’s powerful suppression, which was indiscriminate and applied to everyone. Instead, he was completely captivated by the beautiful and grand scenery that lay before his eyes.
When Vaan first heard about the Myriad Sea God Palace, he pictured a large illuminated city under the sea, spanning hundreds or even thousands of realms.
However, even then, it was a severe underestimation of the Myriad Sea God Palace’s size.
The Myriad Sea God Palace was one of the top five superpowers within the Eternal Darkheaven Sector, one of only four sectors in an entire chaosverse and covering roughly two to three million superclusters each.
Within such a vast expanse, the Myriad Sea God Palace alone controlled three hundred thousand superclusters, each possessing a hundred thousand galaxies or even more.
Given each galaxy contained roughly a hundred billion to four hundred billion stars, the immensity of the Myriad Sea God Palace was simply on a whole different plane of existence compared to a puny place such as the Skymagia Star Kingdom.
Only in a place like the Myriad Sea God Palace would Vaan find a night sky so brilliantly dense and clustered in stars that the darkness of space could not even be observed, not even a speck of it.
It was as if walls of stars packed together surrounded the world.
Yet surprisingly, such infinite brightness did not feel blinding or painful to look at, like the sun. It still felt like the soft starlight of distant stars in a normal starry sky, seen but unreachable.
Of course, the seemingly harmless effect of the infinite starlight was only made possible due to the vast body of water that existed between him and the star-filled sky.
If not for the sensation of water, Vaan might not have even known that he was completely submerged in its presence.
After all, the infinite starlight of the star-filled sky completely illuminated the bottom of the sea and all that existed between, making the already clear seawater clearer and more transparent, like air.
Large bodies of mythical and divine sea creatures swam in the transparent seawater high above like they were flying.
There didn’t seem to be much visual difference between the seafloor and the surface. Even the seawater itself did not seem as resistant and suffocating as normal seawater. It was clear that the seawater was different and even more special.
It was more like a wet, heavy form of air infused with the purest essence of mana.
Even without water-breathing abilities, Vaan believed Divine-level humans would not drown in such a special environment. In fact, they were more likely to drown due to pure mana overdose than from water itself. 𝙧𝘼Ɲ𝐨𝖇Εṡ
After admiring the star-filled sky and studying the special seawater, Vaan finally observed his surroundings. It only took a few moments, but his body had already adjusted to the pressure of the new environment.
As a result, his movements became smooth and natural, akin to a person on land.
With a simple scan, Vaan found himself in an amphitheater with more than a thousand stone gates and inactive water rifts similar to the one he had exited from.
Vaan’s lips couldn’t help but twitch.
He suspected that all thousand inactive water rifts led to other inheritance sites left behind by Sea God Proteus alone because there was only one sea god statue in the center of the amphitheater.
A Sea God’s wealth and means truly made the current him envious.
"Hm?"
Roughly two minutes after Vaan’s arrival, he noticed three approaching fish-men, one leading and the other two lagging behind. They were all garbed in silver-scaled armor and held silver spears.
Only the leading fish-men wore an additional blue cape.
Still, regardless of their statuses, Vaan could see the excitement and haughty arrogance exuding from their gazes. It was as if they were about to receive a newbie who could be exploited for their own benefit.
However, the moment they came within ten feet of Vaan, the three fish-men’s expressions underwent a 180-degree turn, becoming humble and friendly.
Vaan was already told that his Boundless Sea and Sky Aura were a hundred times more powerful than the average Noble Being blessed with his Boundless Sea and Sky Aura. As such, he had suppressed its presence to the greatest extent to match the other Noble Beings.
It was necessary to enjoy the special privileges, protection, and resources granted to Noble Beings without drawing their envy.
