Chapter 756: Fulghor vs Vayne (1)
Chapter 756: Fulghor vs Vayne (1)
Over the course of a single night, Earth was transformed into a battlefield between the Shadow Sect and the High Demons.
The battle spread corruption everywhere, and the clash between Frey Starlight and Amon felt like its very peak.
Yet Earth was not the only place ravaged by war .. the distant moon received its share as well.
The sudden intervention of the planet Fulghor completely altered the flow of events. That four-legged colossus hurled the Rank Three Demoness Vayne from Earth all the way to the moon with a single blow.
At the final moment, Vayne spread her shadows around her body, allowing the King’s Shadow to absorb most of the damage and shock. Even so, Fulghor’s raw physical power existed on an entirely different level.
Fulghor crossed the distance at terrifying speed and appeared atop the lunar surface to face Vayne .. and their battle had already begun some time ago.
The only true victim of this clash was the moon itself. A massive portion of it had already been split apart earlier by Frey, and now two monsters were fighting atop its scarred surface.
Vayne spread her shadow widely, sending tendrils of darkness surging toward Fulghor.
Fulghor was strange .. not only could he run across the moon’s surface, he could run through the air itself, across open space.
His speed was overwhelming, allowing him to evade most of Vayne’s attacks. But he did not merely evade.
Between Fulghor’s arms, the weapon he had used earlier vanished completely, replaced by a gigantic bow forged from his own golden aura.
The arrows of that bow were formed directly from aura itself, and with each shot, Fulghor loosed an arrow toward Vayne.
Every time he did, the moon’s surface shook with a colossal explosion—as though a nuclear bomb had detonated, not a mere arrow.
Each time, Vayne blocked the attack with brute force through her shadows… yet her anger was clearly visible.
“That savage bastard… appearing out of nowhere and humiliating me like this!” Vayne was truly furious.
The pressure around her surged, her violet hair whipping wildly in every direction.
She resembled Wesker greatly, almost like a female version of him .. yet instead of her brother’s playful smile, she bore a face perpetually twisted with anger.
The crushing pressure Vayne unleashed was no joke. With a single motion of her hand, something astonishing happened—something that made every inhabitant of Earth lift their heads in disbelief.
The King’s Shadow .. the shadow of that ferocious demoness .. expanded monstrously until it completely engulfed the fractured moon, shrouding it in suffocating darkness.
The sight was horrifying.
Yet Fulghor showed no reaction beneath his iron helm.
His eyes glowed with the same golden light as he continued running through space itself, as though the entire world were fertile ground laid out for his use.
“As expected of the King’s Shadow… what an irritating ability,” Fulghor’s voice rang out—majestic and terrifying, deep enough to sound as though it belonged to an ancient being who had lived since the dawn of time.
“Don’t worry .. this shadow will swallow you soon enough!” Vayne shouted threateningly, extending her hand toward Fulghor.
In response to that motion, it was as though the entire moon obeyed her, attacking him from all directions at once.
Dark tendrils and massive shadowy hands rose from everywhere, lunging toward Fulghor in a nightmarish spectacle.
Despite Fulghor’s enormous size, he appeared small within that ocean of darkness.
Even so, the Shadow Sect warrior did not hesitate. In an instant, he formed another arrow of dazzling golden light.
With immeasurable power and precision, Fulghor fired the arrow straight into the oncoming wave of darkness.
BOOOOOOM!!
Once again, the simple arrow triggered a nuclear-like explosion that nearly blinded Vayne.
That single shot erased a massive portion of the shadows, further fueling her rage.
The Rank Three Demoness reacted instantly, sending even more shadows surging toward her opponent—but Fulghor answered by forming yet another arrow and firing it straight back at her.
BOOOOOOM!!
Fulghor shook the void itself, forcing Vayne to retreat within her shadows as a gigantic crater appeared in the darkness that had engulfed the moon.
And then again .. Fulghor fired another arrow.
And another.
And another.
BOOOOOOM!!
BOOOOOOM!!
BOOOOOOM!!
The destructive scale of those arrows was beyond description.
The closest comparison was nuclear warheads.
Each arrow carried an absurd, monstrous quantity of aura .. enough to exhaust even some SSS-class fighters. Yet Fulghor fired them as if they were nothing.
Trapped amid those relentless explosions, Vayne was forced from offense into defense, unable to make a single move.
“That bastard… how can he fire so many attacks without stopping?! Just how large is his aura reserve, damn it?!” she screamed inwardly.
Veins writhed like worms across Vayne’s face as she desperately searched for a way out.
Meanwhile, Fulghor continued leaping through space above her, bombarding her with his personal storm of nuclear-like projectiles.
“This is the first time I’ve fought you, Rank Three Demon,” Fulghor said calmly, “and it seems you know nothing about me.”
He formed more arrows .. this time, eight at once.
“If you’re waiting for me to be exhausted,” he continued, “then I should tell you there’s no point.”
Fulghor released the eight arrows in a single volley, annihilating the shadows on an even greater scale and violently shaking the entire moon.
“My name is Fulghor .. the one titled after a planet, because my aura reserves are equal to one,” he declared in a deep voice, already forming eight new arrows overflowing with terrifying amounts of aura.
“Within the Shadow Sect, I possess the largest aura reserve of all. In that regard, I surpass even my lord, Nameless, by nearly threefold.”
Once more, Fulghor loosed his arrows—firmly establishing his dominance.
In record time, he had already destroyed most of the shadow that covered the moon.
“But my lord Nameless possesses a peculiar ability .. one that allows him to reduce his aura consumption to nearly zero with every use. Despite the sheer power of his techniques… in terms of control, he is the finest in the entire world.”
Fulghor formed eight more arrows, continuing in a deep, steady voice.
“Even though I possess three times what he does, my reserves would be depleted in battle long before his even reached half. It truly is a power worthy of a king.”
Fulghor moved his arm .. and his bow transformed into something akin to a rocket launcher through sheer speed and force, triggering even more thunderous explosions.
“But you are not as powerful as my lord Nameless .. not even a quarter of his strength. That is why you cannot defeat me. Not even if I were to fight you using only half of my reserves.”
Earlier… Fulghor had given half of his power to Gehrman.
Even so, the remaining half still exceeded Vayne’s entire aura reserve.
“You talk too much, you primitive creature…”
From within the explosions, Vayne shot into space, hurtling straight toward Fulghor at terrifying speed, magnificent black wings forming behind her back.
“All you rely on is that ridiculous amount of aura you have .. but your attacks are too weak to pose any real threat to me!”
Vayne erased the distance between them, launching a close-range assault on Fulghor.
The demoness’s arm plunged into a mass of dark power that swelled and swelled until it completely obscured Fulghor—but the latter remained calm.
“Of course… attacks at this level cannot kill you. Their purpose was simply to make you believe that I possess no advantage other than the sheer quantity of my aura.”
Fulghor’s eyes flared with a terrifying glow as the bow vanished entirely from his grasp—replaced out of nothingness by a dual golden spear.
“Thanks to that naivety of yours, you came to me yourself, closing the distance .. despite being a Wave Controller.”
At those words, Vayne’s face darkened as she realized her mistake .. far too late.
The massive muscles of Fulghor’s arms swelled grotesquely, his body venting steam and scorching clouds of vapor from the sheer pressure of the blood surging through him.
Then, with explosive speed and force, Fulghor struck with his dual spear—completely obliterating the hand Vayne had formed.
He did not stop there.
Fulghor continued his assault, tearing into Vayne’s body and forcing her to envelop herself in a cocoon of shadows in a desperate attempt to defend.
Yet the Shadow Sect’s beast swiftly shattered her defense, hurling her violently toward the moon’s surface.
