Chapter 844: The Primordial Metal Shaper
Chapter 844: The Primordial Metal Shaper
The short, bearded prisoner of the shadow organization was also brought back to the sanctum with Anthony and the beastwoman.
But no matter what they did, the man never woke up from his forced slumber. The beastmen guards of the shadow organization, captured by Sam and others, had no idea how to remove the chains or where the chains had come from.
The bearded man was captured by Neo himself. No one even knew at what point the man was put in the chains.
Damian could believe them. The spell active on the runic chains was at least supreme grade. It didn’t have as many giant glowing purple runic circles as the dungeon sealing spell, but the unique runes were changing continuously here as well. Damian had planned to deal with it later, especially after not knowing what the spell truly did-he didn’t want to mess with it.
He had shown the chained man to Landbreaker, and he, too, had no idea what the man was or anything regarding the purple runic circle spells. He did mention seeing a similar species in a few dungeons, but the bearded, short, powerful, violent beings were monsters in the dungeon. He killed them without any hesitation, as the dungeon required.
They had questioned the beastmen in every way possible, but no major information regarding the chained individual was revealed. Anthony and his beastwoman friend also had no useful information regarding the man in chains. Just that he was together with them from the very start.
So, almost a decade and probably more in captivity with no consciousness.
Damian knew nothing about the man other than the fact that he resembled the mythical dwarves. The fantasy images and movies he had seen of dwarves actually did match the man’s image perfectly.
Damian removed a few spells sealing the room’s door and entered inside. He could sense the movement of the chained dwarf. He wasn’t too active, but his head and limbs were moving slightly.
The other third rankers present in the sanctum, who could sense the change in the mana signature, also arrived one by one. When Damian unlocked the door and entered, Sam, Souldealer, and Einar were right behind him.
The short man with a face full of white facial hair was still chained by the unknown runic metal links. However, his big blue eyes were half-opened. He looked sleepy. The man wasn’t surprised or confused by his condition at all. He wasn’t struggling to get free at all, acting as if he was perfectly fine as he was.
“Can you understand me?” Damian asked.
“Yes,” the dwarf replied.
“What species of man are you?” Sam asked before Damian could continue.
“What do I look like, boy? I am of the proud dwarven race. Have you not seen a dwarf before?” The man replied, slightly offended as he huffed from his big nose.
“You seem unbothered by your peculiar situation. My friends tell me you have been sleeping for years.” Damian continued.
The dwarf looked up, his big, old blue eyes seemed to pierce ages with a single glance.
“I knew those bastards would try to capture me; they always were a jealous lot.”
“And who are these bastards?” Damian asked.
“You have no idea who you work for?”
“We don’t work for anyone. You are in the presence of sanctum heads, the leaders of sanctuary.” Souldealer introduced.
“Sanctuary? Was there ever a place called Sanctuary on the mainland?” The aged dwarf asked in confusion, more to himself than others.
If the dwarf had no idea about Sanctuary, that meant he had been asleep for more than seventy years in the new timeline. Or like them, the man was from the old timeline and remembered only old history.
“You didn’t answer. What bastards are you talking about?” Damian asked again.
The dwarf snorted, letting his weight be supported entirely by the gravity-defying chains.
“Who else? Those ancient bullies of our mainland! The week ones call us gods.”
“What?” Einar exclaimed.
Every person present in the room had a similar reaction, just not all voicing it aloud. But the shock was written clearly on all their faces. Did this guy just call himself a god?
“A God?” Damian echoed. “Are you claiming you are bound in these chains by the gods? And you, yourself, are one of these gods?”
The ancient dwarf shook his head. “Don’t lump me together with those ungrateful bastards. I am from the primordial age, not the ancient, barbaric age. One of the newer gods who rose so high, they got jealous and came after us all one by one.”
“Can you.. introduce yourself?” Einar asked.
Damian’s mind had gone into overdrive after hearing primordial age and ancient age. What the hell had they gotten themselves into? What the fuck does all of it have to do with Neo capturing this guy? Wait a second, maybe the guy is high on something and just bullshitting with them?
The old dwarf smiled, nodding as if someone had finally asked him the question he was dying to answer.
“Rejoice, you are in the gracious presence of the God of Metal Golems. None other than the Progenitor of the title, Primordial Metal Shaper. King of the Dwarven nation Bouldor. My true name is Steelweaver.”
When no one replied for a minute, the dwarf seemed disappointed. No one was in any mental state to reply, though. Too many questions and possibilities running through everyone’s minds. The dwarf added after a while,
“Hey, listen, so if you guys don’t work for that chaos bastard, can you free me of these restraints?”
“God of Chaos? He was the one who imprisoned you?” Damian decided to voice his questions instead of torturing his mind.
While the others might be suspicious of the dwarf god’s claims. He was the wielder of the Primordial Metal Shaper title. And could somewhat support the man’s claim. He still wasn’t one hundred percent sure, but the possibility of this dwarf being the true god was higher in his mind compared to others who were unaware of the existence of such a title.
“He is the only one who can mess around with divine rules without any care. He thinks his esper powers make him untouchable even by the divine. I sensed his avatar before that bastard attacked me. It was days after my reincarnation.” The dwarven god of metal golems replied.
