The Rise of the Black Plain

Chapter 2952: Time to Leave the Abyss!

Chapter 2952: Time to Leave the Abyss!

A few weeks later...

Lily left the place where she had spent a long time meditating amidst the silence and darkness of the Abyssal Region.

As expected, nothing but the natural dangers of the area threatened her in her seclusion that seemed to have lasted a few years for her.

Only the extreme power of the laws, some broken and some in good condition, had tested her in this time she had been alone.

Lily was already close to her breakthrough when her father and Devdar left her there. It wasn't hard for her to get her breakthrough after a while, finally feeling ready to leave the place and go.

Looking at the place where she had reached level 125, Lily had a mixed feeling of longing to leave and join the elites of the Upper Realm in the internal disputes, but also regret at having to leave. Despite the dangers, the Abyssal Region really was fantastic for strengthening even high-level cultivators.

A few years there would be enough to nurture a Celestial!

'I wonder where Devdar and my father are,' she asked herself after turning her back, heading off in the opposite direction to the one she had followed when she entered this area of temporal distortion.

Lily couldn't see very far in this dark region of the realm. She didn't know if her two companions on this journey were waiting for her just outside her place of seclusion or if they weren't there at all. But she swam towards the exit of this zone, soon arriving at the place where her father had left her.

"You've leveled up, huh?"

The moment she left the temporal distortion, Lily heard Devdar's voice coming from a less darkened area, at what seemed to be the foot of a mountain, where the bare rocks formed small open caves.

Devdar was alone, sitting in the lotus position with his eyes closed, as if he were cultivating.

He opened his eyes to see Minos' daughter and couldn't help smiling at the girl, feeling her aura on a whole new level.

"Senior Devdar, where is my father?" Lily swam to him, not feeling Minos' aura nearby.

Devdar stood up and said, "I was with Minos two weeks ago when he sent me here. He said you would awaken soon, but at the time we had found clues to an area of intense presence of some laws he cultivated... Anyway, he went ahead and asked me to come and get you."

"Oh?" She understood, not being disappointed. They were all there to take advantage of the opportunities in the region. It was only natural that her father should go deep after finding something to help him.

"Should we go to him now?" She asked, curious about the place that had caught even her father's attention.

Devdar shook his head in denial, smiling bitterly. That's what he would have liked to do, but it wasn't Minos' order. "No. We should leave the Abyssal Region and join the rest of the alliance. Your father seems to have some plans before he returns."

Lily didn't like having to leave immediately after making her breakthrough. But after a moment's long sigh, she shook her head in agreement.

The two of them set off without further ado, heading for the exit of this dark and dangerous region of the realm, each with different thoughts in mind.

Lily regretted it. It was a shame not to be able to enjoy this area more. Meanwhile, Devdar couldn't help wondering what Minos had in mind. After weeks of traveling together, he had noticed that his ally seemed to be willing to take risks more than ever.

'I hope what you're up to isn't too problematic...' The man in front of Lily thought silently, remembering the problem Minos had mentioned, shortly after conquering the last throne in the region.

...

Meanwhile, deeper in the Abyssal Region...

Minos was standing in front of what appeared to be one of the realm's spatial boundaries, where countless cracks filled the space, making this part of the dimension look like cracked glass about to explode.

The energy there was chaotic, with mixed and disproportionate laws, capable of destroying one's existence with a mere wave of the waters in this abyssal area.

The temperature of the waters changed suddenly as one moved through the area, passing through warm, cold, icy, and scalding areas, unevenly distributed.

The weather there was a challenge to understand. In moments, it seemed that reality would stop completely and then speed up to the point where weeks of time seemed to pass in a few breaths.

Meanwhile, the spatial forces acted in disagreement, sometimes swallowing space, sometimes expanding, causing distortions throughout the zone.

Minos was standing still, floating about 100 meters from the underwater floor, only 50 meters away from the threatening space cracks in front of him.

His eyes were closed, while his massive dragon body resisted the surrounding destructive forces.

His energy was at its absolute peak, with his level temporarily higher than his natural cultivation, as he 'filtered' the opportunities, understanding the laws.

His throne was by his side, helping him as he paid attention to parts of reality that were incomplete and that told stories of a very ancient and glorious era.

Reality was made up of countless different parts, like the countless pixels on a screen.

The further you looked, the easier it was to see the images presented, but the harder it was to see the details that were imperceptible to the inattentive eye.

When some of these details stopped working, the image could be compromised, or only marginally affected. This would depend on the size or quality of the damage.

Reality was no different. It could exist 'well' with some defects, with incomplete laws or even completely destroyed.

Being in the Abyssal Region was a danger, like being in the eye of a hurricane. But only there could one take a close enough look at the pillars of reality and see in detail the parts that held the ancient era upright, as well as the current situation and the future outlook of reality.

How could this help Minos? He could learn more about the basic laws of his cultivation, improve his control over them and, ultimately, 'feel' what it would be like to cultivate his forces in the Ancestral Realm!

'Interesting.' He thought to himself as he felt the parts of his Law of Time that were incomplete—something almost insignificant, but easy to notice in that region. 'I thought all the common laws were complete and working, as most outside the abyss think. But after studying this area for weeks, I feel that all the laws, including that of time, are gradually being degenerated.'

By combining the unique characteristics of this region, his power over time and clairvoyance, Minos had sensed how the laws were in the past, how they were now, and how they would be in the future.

To his surprise, the end of the Ancestral Realm hadn't just damaged many laws once, back then. Since its end and the beginning of Hell and the Upper Realm, the laws had been degrading, little by little, heading towards their eventual total corruption.

'It seems that in the distant future, or perhaps sooner, should a major confrontation break out, cultivation could be affected to the point that immortality will cease to exist... Perhaps even ordinary spiritual cultivation won't be possible to pursue in the long term!'

As frightening as it was, it was also fascinating.

Minos could feel what it had been like in ancient times, when even someone of mediocre talent could reach the 11th stage and the great geniuses went all the way to the end of the 14th stage—a cultivation that for him and the current generation was merely legendary.

By studying these incomplete laws a little, seeing them up close, as if he were studying them with the aid of a magnifying glass, he could imagine how to reconstruct that era.

His cultivation vibrated, momentarily rising to a slightly higher level, but his concentration on the laws didn't change one bit.

'Unfortunately, with the cultivation I have now, even using my innate ability, I can't do anything to prevent degradation, let alone bring back part of that era.'

He sighed as he opened his eyes, feeling that if he didn't reach level 128 cultivation, in fact, all the understanding he had acquired over the last few weeks would be of little use for this purpose.

'Don't think about it too much now.' Said the throne, in Minos' mind. 'In a few years' time, you may have heirs to your inheritance at your side in the realm. And with new Entitled Deities on your side, you'll certainly achieve your medium-term goals and reach level 127!'

'That still won't be enough...' Minos choked.

'If your four women join you, many doors will open. The powers they will have cannot be compared to those of ordinary Deities! And because of the long affinity and connection you share, this will enable you to do even more!'

'I hope so…' Minos looked at one of his hands, already back in his human form. 'I hope the enemies that Yin and Yang mentioned don't appear so quickly. Otherwise, we may not even have the chance to dream of the ancient era.'

No longer able to stay there, given his 'weak' cultivation, Minos turned and headed for the exit of the Abyssal Region, thinking of one day returning to this place when he was more capable.

If one day he was going to be able to restore the old order, this was the place where he should act. But for now, this was no place for him to live, even if there he was protected from the enemies mentioned by Yin and Yang.

He left with a mixed feeling in his heart, in a bad position because of the descendants of the Absolutes that Yin and Yang had warned, but also with his decision regarding this throne and Lydis.

After much deliberation, Minos was determined to go against his promise to Lydis and keep Yin and Yang with him!

'And now the chaos begins!'
