Chapter 1006:
Wooooooo!
Eden’s Fiends knelt, burying their heads into the ground.
“The Heavenly Demon Bell has stirred the demonic sky!”
“Worship the Heavenly Demon who will open that day!”
Even the Eden executives who hadn’t been brainwashed bowed deeply, chanting praises to the Heavenly Demon. Their bizarre display looked like a pseudo-religious cult, not unlike the White Blood Cult.
“…”
Despite receiving the veneration of his subordinates, the Heavenly Demon showed no reaction. He simply held the bell that emitted a strange resonance and gazed down at Raon.
“Kuh…”
Raon bit his tongue, forcing himself to endure the Heavenly Demon’s aura that felt like it was crushing his body.
‘I feel like I’m going to die.’
His stamina and mental strength were spent, and just being in the Heavenly Demon’s presence made it hard to breathe. If it weren’t for the Ring of Fire, he would have collapsed to his knees like the other Eden’s Fiends.
Gooooooo!
As if testing his endurance, the Heavenly Demon remained still, maintaining that majestic aura.
“Haa…”
Raon let out a stifled breath and thrust Heavenly Drive into the ground. Using the sword like a cane, he grit his teeth.
‘To think a being like this exists.’
Even the Heavenly Demon’s breathing felt like it was crushing his soul. The air itself was heavy, as if the entire space were held in his grasp.
‘I have to endure.’
If he faltered, the Heavenly Demon’s aura would reach Evelyn and Mark Gorton behind him. He had to endure, no matter what.
‘Kuh…’
Just as his vision began to blur and he bit his tongue again, ten daggers dropped before him.
Paaaaaang!
Larian, her hood pulled low, descended and planted herself in front of Raon. She levitated all ten daggers at once, her lips trembling.
Hoo wook.
With Larian blocking the path, the Heavenly Demon’s aura—so brutal it felt like it would tear flesh and snap bones—vanished.
“Haa…”
Raon finally released the breath he’d been holding and bent forward, like he might collapse.
“A-Are you the Heavenly Demon?”
Larian, seemingly seeing him for the first time, spoke in a tense voice, glancing up.
“Magic Tower Master Larian.”
The Heavenly Demon narrowed his eyes at Larian. His voice was calm, yet fierce—like a raging storm held in check.
“You’re different from what I heard. Both your strength and your temperament.”
He nodded as if he understood everything about her the instant their eyes met.
“Y-You’re the same.”
Larian tugged her hood further down, her shoulders trembling.
“Hah. A demon who ascended to the heavens… more like a beast cub?”
She suddenly threw back her hood, twisting her lips upward. The boldness she’d shown while fighting The Fallen One resurfaced.
“Is that so.”
The Heavenly Demon dismissed her words and shifted his gaze. His brow furrowed as he looked at the ground where The Fallen One had died and turned to ash.
“He died like a worm. Truly.”
He shook his head, his voice holding both pity and mockery. Extending a tattooed finger, he lifted a tiny piece of wood from the black pit.
‘Could that be…’
Raon swallowed as he watched the fragment drift into the Heavenly Demon’s hand.
‘The Fallen One’s mask?’
Though blackened, its shape and material looked like a piece of the mask The Fallen One had been wearing.
“…”
The Heavenly Demon turned the fragment over and over, examining it.
Raon had braced for an immediate attack, but he couldn’t read what the Heavenly Demon was thinking.
“You…”
Larian frowned up at the Heavenly Demon.
“What are you trying to do?”
Her brow tightened, as if she’d reached the same conclusion.
“I must hear the reason I was summoned.”
The Heavenly Demon shook his head, holding the crimson-black bell and the fragment of The Fallen One’s mask in one hand.
‘The reason he was summoned?’
Raon’s gaze fixed on the bell.
‘They called it the Heavenly Demon Bell, right?’
The Eden’s Fiends had screamed that the Heavenly Demon Bell rang and the Heavenly Demon descended. The bell was the Heavenly Demon Bell, used to summon him.
‘And…’
Raon clenched his fist as he stared at the mask fragment beside the bell.
‘The Fallen One rang that bell.’
The Heavenly Demon Bell couldn’t have rung on its own. The Fallen One must have shaken it before he died.
And yet, since the Heavenly Demon himself had confirmed it, The Fallen One was definitely dead.
“You’re going to hear the reason?”
Larian narrowed her eyes and shook her head.
“Are you going to revive a dead man just to ask him?”
She waved a hand, telling him to stop spouting nonsense and disappear.
“This is different from you humans.”
The Heavenly Demon spoke as if the mask fragment were nothing more than an object, lowering his chin.
“But I can’t hear an answer in this state. It was utterly destroyed.”
He smiled, as if satisfied.
“…Yeah. He was acting up, so I crushed him.”
Larian smiled coldly and nodded, trying to draw the Heavenly Demon’s attention away from Raon and Evelyn.
“You’re not good at lying.”
The Heavenly Demon slowly turned his gaze, looking past Larian to Raon and Evelyn. Just by standing here, he knew what had happened on this land.
‘That bastard… he’s not just strong.’
Raon clenched his teeth, sensing the Heavenly Demon’s immense soul.
“Arise.”
The Heavenly Demon commanded the mask fragment in a voice imbued with Aura, like he was chanting Dragon Tongue.
Gooooooo!
Natural Mana gathered like a storm, and a clear light burst from the mask fragment.
Woooooong!
The fragment floated up on its own, emitting a faint golden glow, as if it were being worn on The Fallen One’s face.
“The Fallen One…?”
Raon trembled as he stared at the mask fragment rising from the Heavenly Demon’s grasp.
‘I can feel The Fallen One’s aura inside!’
The Fallen One’s aura, which had been completely erased, was being restored by the Heavenly Demon’s command.
‘No way…’
Raon’s jaw shook as he stared at the fragment.
‘That’s not magic or sorcery.’
The Heavenly Demon hadn’t used sorcery or magic. He had simply dragged The Fallen One’s soul into the fragment through the will of a transcendent being.
Raon let out a hollow laugh at the absurdity.
“Monster…”
Larian trembled as well, as if she’d seen something impossible. Even for her—a top-tier transcendent—what the Heavenly Demon had done was shocking.
“Now I can hear it. That ugly voice.”
The Heavenly Demon smiled mockingly at The Fallen One’s mask fragment.
– “Raon….”
Wrath called to him, eyes fixed on the Heavenly Demon.
– “This king made a mistake.”
He shook his head, as if he’d misjudged the Heavenly Demon.
‘Could it be…’
Raon swallowed hard and turned his gaze to Wrath.
‘Is he even too much for you?’
Raon knew the Heavenly Demon was strong, but he hadn’t believed it could be to the point that even Wrath couldn’t defeat him. His heart hammered as if it would burst.
– “That’s not it.”
Wrath shook his head firmly.
‘Then?’
– “Do you remember when this king said he smelled another Demon King on the masked guy?”
He frowned at The Fallen One’s mask fragment.
‘Yeah. I remember.’
Raon nodded. Wrath had said he smelled another Demon King the moment he first saw The Fallen One.
– “This king was wrong. That guy was just a shell…”
Wrath pressed his lips together as he stared at the Heavenly Demon.
– “That damn bastard’s real Divine Authority is imbued in that guy.”
His brow furrowed as he said he could see it clearly now.
‘Wait…’
Raon’s eyes trembled.
‘Then the Divine Authority the Heavenly Demon possesses is…’
“The Lord of Arrogance. Pride.”
Wrath nodded, saying the Heavenly Demon possessed the Divine Authority of Pride.
– “Because Pride endures, that bastard isn’t affected by the laws of causality in the human realm, even though he has surpassed them.”
He drew a deep breath, saying he was certain after seeing that Divine Authority a moment ago.
‘Damn it…’
Raon trembled as he looked up at the Heavenly Demon.
‘How am I supposed to catch something like that?’
He had the power to make even Larian wary, and he carried the Divine Authority of Pride. Frankly, it felt hopeless.
‘But is it possible to summon The Fallen One’s soul with sheer force?’
– “That’s Pride’s ability.”
Wrath nodded like it was obvious.
‘What is Pride’s ability—’
Raon was about to ask when the Heavenly Demon spoke.
“Speak.”
The Heavenly Demon narrowed his eyes at the mask fragment.
“What is the reason you summoned me?”
Raon couldn’t hear The Fallen One’s reply. Only a fragment of his soul remained, and it seemed to be speaking solely to the Heavenly Demon.
“You want me to revive you and kill them?”
The Heavenly Demon lowered his cold gaze toward Raon and Larian.
“Is that what it comes down to?”
Larian bit her lip, beginning to gather Mana as if ready to fight at any moment.
‘Damn it…’
Raon pulled Heavenly Drive from the ground and gripped it with both hands. He wouldn’t survive even one strike, but he had to struggle to the end.
“Impossible.”
The Heavenly Demon shook his head firmly, looking at the mask fragment.
“You can only ask one thing of me now. Choose one of the two.”
He lowered his hand, ordering him to pick only one.
The relationship between The Fallen One and the Heavenly Demon didn’t seem like a simple partnership.
Woooooong.
The mask fragment continued to glow faintly, as if it were speaking.
“So, your own life is the most precious thing after all.”
The Heavenly Demon smiled mockingly, seized the mask fragment, and crushed one of the Heavenly Demon Bells in his hand.
“I’m going back as is. Do you have anything to say?”
He looked at Larian, as if asking what she intended to do. His attitude was arrogant, as if he’d fight if she wanted to.
“Um…”
Larian bit her lip and looked back at Raon and Evelyn.
“I-It’s okay.”
Evelyn smiled awkwardly, as if it was fine to let The Fallen One live. She chose the path where everyone could live, rather than five hundred years of revenge.
“…Let him go.”
Raon nodded weakly to Larian.
‘Damn it.’
Even after seeing all of Evelyn’s memories, it infuriated him that he couldn’t fulfill her revenge. He never imagined he’d feel this helpless even after reaching transcendence.
“Consider yourself lucky.”
Larian sighed and stepped back.
“…”
The Heavenly Demon nodded silently and turned away. He was about to vanish into the air when he stopped.
“Those words…”
He looked down at Raon and Evelyn again, sending out a chilling aura.
“You should have said that first.”
In an instant, he turned and descended in front of Larian, as if he’d heard something from The Fallen One.
“What are you thinking?”
Larian frowned, summoning daggers before her chest.
“I’ve changed my mind.”
The Heavenly Demon pointed at Raon and Evelyn.
“I’ll have to take those two with me.”
He declared it in front of Larian as if she didn’t exist.
“Ha. Do I look like a joke to you?”
Larian laughed, raising her fingertips.
“Good. I wanted to see how strong the strongest of the Five Demons is.”
She twisted her lips, spinning the ten daggers like the wheels of a carriage.
Wooooooong!
Larian formed a formula at once, and the ten daggers flashed with their respective lights as they shot toward the Heavenly Demon.
Kuwahhhhh!
The Heavenly Demon blocked the storm of daggers simply by raising his hand.
“Spirit Burst.”
Larian spread her hands again. The daggers spun into a spiral, drilling through the Heavenly Demon’s Aura and detonating in a violent explosion.
Kuwahhhhh!
An enormous surge of Mana erupted, pushing back the Heavenly Demon’s aura and tearing apart the space where he stood.
Gooooooo!
Yet the Heavenly Demon remained where he was, floating in the Void where the ground had been erased.
Even after taking Larian’s ultimate magic head-on, not a single wound appeared on him.
“Tsk.”
Larian clicked her tongue, resting the returned daggers on her fingers.
“That’s a damn tough Aura.”
She frowned, saying he lived up to his name.
“I have no intention of killing you, Master.”
The Heavenly Demon calmly turned his gaze back to Raon.
“Just hand over those two.”
He lowered the hand that had blocked her magic, as if that was all he wanted.
“I said that’s not happening. If you want to take them, you’ll have to kill me.”
Larian clenched her fist, daggers perched on her fingers, and two newly forged daggers floated up.
The Dagger of Light and the Dagger of Darkness.
The ten daggers condensed into two, releasing magnificent Mana. That was why they were called the Twelve Demonic Constellation Blades.
Paaaaaang!
With a flick of her hands, Larian launched the Dagger of Light and the Dagger of Darkness. Light and darkness split the air as they streaked toward the Heavenly Demon’s forehead.
Kuuuuuuuu!
The Heavenly Demon blocked them again with a raised hand. The daggers trembled, unable to advance against his absolute Aura.
“Not yet.”
Larian bit her lip and brought her hands together. The blades of light and darkness meshed like they were fighting each other, generating an intense gray glow.
‘Void!’
Raon’s eyes widened at the gray energy. It was the power of the Void that The Fallen One had used.
Larian had prepared the power of the Void to catch The Fallen One.
Kuwahhhhh!
The dagger laced with the gray Void pierced through the Heavenly Demon’s Aura and shot toward his heart.
Kuwahhhhh!
The power that erased existence itself detonated, and black fissures opened across the sky and land where the Heavenly Demon stood.
Hoo wook.
The gray Void slowly subsided, and the Heavenly Demon reappeared.
Gooooooo!
He was still holding up only one hand. Thick veins bulged along his arm, and a strange red Aura floated at his fingertips.
Hoo wook.
He had drawn significant energy to block the Void.
“Certainly…”
The Heavenly Demon clenched his slightly trembling hand and nodded.
“You are qualified to be called a transcendent being.”
He evaluated a transcendent of the Five Kings as if she were beneath him.
“But I have no interest in you.”
He extended his tightly clenched fist.
It moved slowly—like a grub—yet its weight was beyond imagination.
The sky split, the earth scorched, and even the flow of Mana halted, as if only the Heavenly Demon’s Fist Strike existed in this space.
“Damn it!”
Sensing death, Larian poured all her Mana into the daggers braced in defense.
Even so, she was driven back violently. Her hair flew in disarray, and blood burst from her mouth.
“If I knew a guy like this was coming…”
Larian shook her head, biting down as blood ran over her lips.
“I should’ve brought other tools.”
She laughed hollowly as she watched her daggers being crushed and shattered by the Heavenly Demon’s Fist Strike.
“Magic Tower Master…”
Raon stepped in behind Larian and bowed his head.
“Send me away. I’ve already experienced it once.”
He was telling her to fall back, saying he’d be fine.
“That’s exactly why you can’t go!”
Larian shook her head hard. Since he’d experienced it once, she couldn’t let him go through it again.
“But it’s dangerous!”
Just as Glenn had effortlessly defeated the leaders of the Five Demons, the Heavenly Demon was overwhelming Larian. If this continued, Larian would die.
Pajiijijijik!
The Heavenly Demon’s Fist Strike pulverized all ten daggers and finally reached Larian’s eyes.
“I-I said when I first came…”
Larian spat black blood, blocking the Fist Strike with Mana gathered in her hand.
“I was late because I was preparing a little.”
“Yes?”
“He is here now.”
The moment a blood-soaked smile rose on her lips, the dark sky split open and a red sword fell.
No—it wasn’t a sword of light, but a god turned into a sword.
Kugugugugu!
The earth’s trembling—shaking like it was terrified—stopped. The sky’s surge—howling as if praising the demon—fell silent.
The dawn from a thousand years ago, when the Dragon Demon’s neck was severed and a new world opened.
As if that brilliant light had returned to this era, the red radiance pushed back the pitch-black darkness.
Hoo wook!
The Heavenly Demon’s majestic aura that had dominated heaven and earth subsided, and a black robe fluttered over the ruined ground.
The pillar of the Five Kings, the peerless swordsman this world had named the God of the Sword, descended upon the shattered land.
“Glenn Zieghart!”
The Heavenly Demon smiled with delight as he faced the old swordsman who had erased the Fist Strike itself.
“To lay a hand on the children—this is different from what you said to me.”
Glenn stood before the Heavenly Demon, crushing the restraint on his Fighting Spirit. His transcendent aura lit the darkened sky with a clear radiance.
Sword God and Heavenly Demon.
The absolute rulers of the age, cloaked in light and darkness, faced each other, their red eyes gleaming.
