Chapter 2014 The Mortal Body of Nyxara
Chapter 2014 The Mortal Body of Nyxara
Eos and Eva returned to the Origin Realms, and before they entered the border of the realms, Eos paused and turned around, “Eva, you can return. I have something that I need to deal with.”
She was a bit surprised at his words, but accepting that he was working at a level that was above her at this point, in addition to this, Eva had seen so much beyond the facade of Existence that her Origin Essence was boiling, and she was at the limit of endurance. She did not know how many layers she could break through, but Eva knew that after she went and digested all her gains, then Temus would no longer be the strongest of the New Primordials.
It had been too long since she had been the second strongest, and it was far due that she retook her position. This trip was far more enriching than she had anticipated, and she knew that many of the New Primordials who were slightly scared of Eos would begin to come around him more, just for the benefit of learning from him.
This was a good thing because she knew that Eos would not refuse them, and more than ever, he needed these people beside him to remind him what he was fighting for. It was easy for someone like him to become lost in the grand vision and miss the small details.
Eos glanced behind him and saw she had vanished into the safety of his realm, before he turned and addressed the hidden presence waiting for him.
“You can come out of hiding, Nyxara. I can smell the stench of your soul.”
Eos looked at an empty area of space that soon trembled, and a female figure walked out. The Ancient Primordial Nyxara, taking the shape of a young woman who looked to be around fifteen, emerged.
She looked like a mortal peasant who was struggling, wearing threadbare clothes that were torn in different places, and she was not even wearing shoes, and her pleasant face held a slight frown that should not appear on the face of such a young girl.
However, the truth was always in the eyes, and the eyes of this young girl were anything but young, and a weird light was dancing inside them that would suck out the soul of even a Primordial if they stared into them too long.
She smiled at Eos and bowed at the waist, before she twirled around like a giddy young girl, “What do you think of my original body? I had nearly forgotten what it looked like; they were always there, but like shadows, they had always seemed unimportant, and now they are becoming clearer… strange, almost as if someone does not want me to remember what it felt like to be mortal.”
Eos was silent as he looked at Nyxara from head to toe. He could read all the story of her mortal life from this shape, and he would have felt pity for who she once was, if he did not know what she would turn out to be.
If there was an opportunity to go back in time and kill the mortal Nyxara before she was born, then Eos would kill her. It did not matter if this was an immoral choice; the suffering caused by Nyxara and her siblings could not be equalled in all Eistences combined.
Looking at Eos, who remained silent, Nyxara smiled and began to walk around him, “I am surprised you left your Origin Realms, Eos. Are you not afraid that I will kill you and take the Singularity? Don’t tell me that you are not aware that I will break the Agreement between us if there is a prize tantalizing enough for me to suffer the backlash.”
Eos turned around to face Nyxara and held out his hand, and the Primordial Record appeared above it. “Your prize is right here, Nyxara. Come for it.”
Without warning, she struck, her body blurring past the space, and her finger was barely an inch from touching the blue book, but she stopped herself, hissing in frustration like a snake. Her eyes, that was focused on the book, slowly turned away and looked at her hand that was almost touching it, and saw that tattoos of chains had covered it… the backlash of the Agreement was beginning to show, but that was not the problem.
Her eyes shifted lower to see a blade that had entered her chest, and it was a single inch from touching her heart. Eos had held out his right hand with the Singularity, and his left hand that had always been behind him had struck as soon as Nyxara made her move, and if she had continued her actions and touched the Primordial Record, the backlash from breaking the Agreement at that moment would be so great that Eos could use this slim opportunity and grieviously wound the Ancient Primordial, and there was a possibility that he might kill her.
For someone as crazy as Nyxara, death was not to be feared. She could also tell that the aura of the Origin Realms surrounded Eos, and the moment she broke the Agreement, all the Origin Realms would explode.
Licking her lips with nervousness, Nyxara stepped back, and Eos pulled back his blade at the same time while dropping his right hand. The Ancient Primordial sighed in disappointment.
“You are too tense, Eos; it is not good for your heart.”
“Your heart will break first before mine does,” Eos frowned, and he took a step back while owning the space around him. If Nyxara was going to attack again, it wouldn’t be as easy. Of course, he had anticipated her greed when he showed her the Primordial Record, and he would have attacked and tried as much as possible to kill her, but he knew that she was far too tricky to be so easily killed.
“Do you remember what I told you when you freed us from our hunger, Eos?”
Eos cocked his head to the side, “You threatened my life, Nyxara, and all that I hold dear to me.”
“That I did,” she giggled, “but… hear me out, I am here to threaten you again, and this time, the stakes are much more real than before. Not that those from before did not count, but you know what I mean, don’t you, Eos… I mean, you still remember the dying screams of Maeve, of Andar… of your mother. What if I say that I still have some of their souls?”
