Chapter 3317: Unexpected Haven
Chapter 3317: Unexpected Haven
Normally, this would be an absolute impossibility to overcome, but in his current state with Gigabrain active, the impossible became possible.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!
RUMBLE!!!!!
Even as the attacks the light elves unleashed ravaged his body, his mind surged as he pushed his Eye of Prophecy to the very limit, computing countless possible locations he could teleport to within East Genora in a mental map of it in his mind.
He used the Eye of Prophecy to evaluate what would happen if he teleported to a given random region in East Genora.
Normally, the Eye of Prophecy would not be able to provide precisely accurate prophecies that showed him exactly what was going to happen. It wasn’t all-knowing, after all.
But with Gigabrain enhancing the Eye of Prophecy to astronomical heights, he could see exactly what would unfold in each location in East Genora that he teleported to.
In almost every location, he was simply bound to die.
The Mothers of Nature would detect him in an instant, before immediately unleashing a destructive onslaught. In such a circumstance where he was strained by the teleportation, he would likely be even weaker than normal and thus would succumb to death at the hands of an especially powerful destructive onslaught.
In the best-case scenario, he would survive, but would be in the exact same situation as before, with very little progress.
The closer to West Genora he teleported, the more aggressively the Mothers of Nature would annihilate him with their destructive offensive. In particular, he knew that the density of Mothers of Nature increased the closer he got to the borders of the continent and to West Genora.
Their power and control would allow them to unleash a much greater onslaught of attacks that even he would likely succumb to, Gigabrain or not. He had underestimated just how powerful light elven civilization was, in his own admission.
Regardless, he kept searching for a place where he could safely teleport to and get some rest in East Genora, only to continuously fail to find even a single location. Each and every location he searched and evaluated with the Eye of Prophecy was treacherous to his chances of survival.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!
RUMBLE!!!!!
Even as the light elves unleashed a tsunami of destruction upon him, Rui continued searching East Genora for a place of refuge.
He searched the high skies.
He searched the forests.
He searched their rivers and lakes.
He searched their massive mountain ranges.
None of them yielded even a single safe space to teleport away to.
The entire continent was filled with flora that served as surveillance cameras for the light elves and the Mothers of Nature. Even if he could find a place, they would find him very quickly and immediately pounce on him.
It was hopeless.
And yet, it was his only chance of escape.
His mind was pushed to the limit, defending against the onslaught of attacks with everything he had, even as his prophecy scoured the very future for a place to escape.
And then, he found it.
His eyes widened as his prophecy showed him a single place on the continent.
A single location where, if he teleported to, he would be able to obtain some rest and recuperation for his mind before continuing.
What shocked him, however, was the fact that the location was a Mother of Nature.
Not just any Mother of Nature, but one that was even larger than Mother Mara.
She should have, by all logic, been his biggest enemy on this continent.
And yet, his prophecy insisted otherwise.
It insisted that he would be safe.
It insisted that if he teleported to her, he would be able to gain refuge.
Rui had come to have a lot of faith in the technique, but in that moment, he truly couldn’t help but doubt the Eye of Prophecy. The technique was not absolute and was capable of being wrong.
He couldn’t imagine how it could possibly be correct in this particular circumstance, given how almost dogmatically unified the light elves were on the matter of his destruction.
Was he supposed to believe that one of the oldest and most powerful Mothers of Nature of the light elves was actually the one and only place where he could find some rest and refuge?
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!
RUMBLE!!!!!
The world shook as the light elves intensified their assault. Rui had remained in one place as he desperately searched the continent for a location to teleport to. They had mistaken his passivity for signs that his stamina was running out.
’Attack now!’
’It seems that he’s finally exhausted.’
’Take him out!’
The attack intensified as Rui sharpened his eyes before making his decision.
RUMBLE!!!!!!
The world shook as he activated Worm Step, as the very fabric of space and time was warped. He curled space itself slowly as his mind ran through calculations in Einstein’s Field Equations, computing the amount of power he would need for the distance he wanted to teleport through.
The curling of space immediately sent alarms through the flora network of the Mothers of Nature as they understood what he was trying to do.
’He’s trying to teleport to West Genora!’
’Fool! Did he think we would allow him to?!’
’Attack! Annihilate him if he dares to continue the technique! He will be forced to abandon it in favor of defense!’
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!
Much to their shock, they were wrong.
Rui bore the entirety of the onslaught of their attacks as he continued his technique at the cost of the damage he sustained. The heightened destruction melted even the invintium exoskeleton he had on, ravaging his skin and flesh as he gritted his teeth, refusing to relent on the Worm Step technique.
RUMBLE!!!!!
The world shook as he pushed himself to the very limit, even as his skin and flesh melted away at the onslaught of attacks that came within nanoseconds of annihilating his very existence.
WHOOSH
Rui disappeared into thin air, avoiding death by the briefest of moments.
THUD
He appeared at the very core of the continent, right before a titanic Mother of Nature.
DRIP DRIP DRIP…
Pitch-black blood poured out of his body as he struggled to keep the gu in check. The last thing he needed to do was antagonize her and create a new enemy. He activated Nature Breathing as he healed himself from the supply of nutrients in the air, directing a deep, hazy gaze at the mighty Mother of Nature before him, even as the blood-red Suns in his eyes flickered, before fading away.
THUD
He collapsed unconscious before the giant tree.
