The Lady's Butler: I Reincarnated To Serve The Villainess

Chapter 233: Departure

Chapter 233: Departure

Noctis was fully enjoying the respect from a whole army of dragons.

The damned cat even had the guts to look smug about it, telling Adrian to learn from them.

Due to that, the butler immediately regretted his decision to help the whole army of the South awaken.

It had only been a few hours since Orion successfully awakened, and now, almost the entire army had also awakened.

Grand Duke Ignis looked at his men in surprise; the slightest bit of doubt he had when he made that deal with Adrian immediately dissolved.

Of course, not everyone successfully awakened, and some had permanently lost all their mana pathways, while others had ended up in a coma that the healers weren’t certain they’d wake from.

This was the thirty percent.

And that weight still fell on Ignis’s shoulders.

But Adrian had been clear of the risks that were involved, and the men had willingly gone through the awakening.

The conscious ones had been very aware of that fact, and although it was regretful that they couldn’t absorb any mana anymore, they were still stronger than average, and they could still fight.

A trait that came with being born in the South.

Adrian, though, had a suspicion that Alvíss had a way to fix them.

Hell, the old man would probably be excited to open them up and show his new apprentice his true passion, but Adrian wasn’t going to hand all the carrots over just yet.

He’d allow them to bask in the glory of this success for now.

Besides, this was one out of four dukedoms strengthened; all they had to do now was train their asses off.

The South was very much known for this.

Speaking of which, "With the sovereign’s mantle, I can finally kick that overhrown cat’s ass."

Adrian’s attention was pulled towards Darius, who was headed towards the resting Ignivar.

The guardian beast immediately noticed his approach and took off, completely ignoring him as always.

"Get back here!" Darius shouted as he transformed into his Dragon Sovereign’s form and chased after it.

"..."

Adrian looked at him with a blank expression before sighing. He had almost forgotten that Darius was the same idiot from the manhwa.

Though, unlike before, it seems he had gone through a bit of growth.

Just a bit.

Adrian’s attention was pulled to the side by the approaching Orion, who stopped directly in front of him and said, "I haven’t shown you my gratitude yet."

"It’s unneeded," Adrian said, shaking his head.

"Still," Orion said, "I always knew that I’d never awaken the dragon bloodline, and I had long come to terms with that fact."

He paused and looked at the butler before smiling, "But I’m glad you proved me wrong, so you have my gratitude."

Adrian was silent for a while.

He truly didn’t help any of them awaken just to receive gratitude. As long as Ignis held up his end of their deal, then everything would be fine.

Still, it wouldn’t hurt to respond positively to Orion’s gratitude.

The butler then turned towards Darius, who was still chasing the guardian beast, before speaking up, "If you’re truly grateful, I want you to use that power to kick his ass."

Orion silently looked at him for a while, then at his brother before grinning and saying, "With pleasures."

He very much intended to bully his little brother with this newfound power, since the status quo needed to be reset.

Though Darius’s Dragon Sovereign form was going to be a problem, that didn’t mean Orion wasn’t going to find a way around it.

With a grin, Orion suddenly disappeared, snatching Darius from mid air and slamming them both into the floor.

BOOM!

Adrian calmly watched on as the chaos ensued, with the two battle maniac brothers clashing as if they truly intended to end each other.

That couldn’t be further from the truth.

"You seem to be enjoying yourself," A voice came from behind Adrian, causing him to turn and immediately spot Renelle walking towards him.

"Quite a bit," Adrian said, "is my readiness to leave?"

Since their job here was done, and Ignis had finally pledged his loyalty to Renelle, it was now time for them to also depart.

"Hmm," Renelle nodded, before looking at the brothers clashing, "I’ll miss this place quite a bit."

After all, she had experienced a lot more here than she ever imagined.

She even got to meet two cute kids on the night of her date with Adrian, although, try as she might, she couldn’t find them again.

But she did recall the boy saying that his mother was from the North, perhaps he’d be able to find them there.

There was also the fact that the academy students always got quite a long vacation after the Festival, so they should have enough time to search for them.

That is, before they embarked on the search for the Founder.

"Maybe we should go back after all this?" Adrian said.

And by ’all this’, he meant after dealing with the cult master and possibly the beings of light.

"Hmm," Renelle nodded, a small smile appearing on her face.

The two were silent for a while, until the fight between the two suddenly interrupted their moment.

BOOM.

"We should go before he notices we’re leaving," Renelle said.

"Yes," Adrian agreed, and they turned to walk away from the training area.

Outside the mansion, a carriage was waiting for them, and just beside it were Orion’s and Darius’s mothers.

Standing beside the two was Ignis, who had been forced by them to be here, rather than trying to test how strong his men had gotten.

The two Grand Duchesses looked at them approaching before Orion’s mother stepped forward and said, "We wanted to properly see you off and apologize for our sons’ impolite action of not seeing you two off."

Darius’s mother nodded in agreement, her face told that she was about to reprimand her son for such rude behavior, but then again, she was too soft to do so.

"It’s fine," Renelle said with a smile, "my butler here was the one who created a distraction."

"I see," the Grand Duchess said with a chuckle as he looked at Adrian.

"Thank you," Renelle spoke up again, slightly bowing to the two, "for the hospitality."

"The pleasure was ours," Orion’s mother said warmly, returning the bow, "You’re welcome in the South anytime, Lady Ardent."

"Anytime," Darius’s mother repeated in a soft voice, but it was clear enough for both Renelle and Adrian to hear.

Renelle looked at the two Grand Duchesses and nodded.

"We’ll take you up on that," she said.

"See that you do," Orion’s mother said simply.

Ignis, on the other hand, just silently looked at Adrian before, and an elbow strike to the side forced him to speak up, "I wish you two a safe journey."

He clearly had his throat after saying that.

"Thank you, Grand Duke Ignis," Adrian said with a respectful bow, before he and Renelle finally walked into the carriage.

The carriage door closed behind them, and the moment Renelle settled into her seat, Crystal immediately appeared and rested on her lap.

The South’s morning sun passed by the window as the carriage began moving, the Lionheart estate slowly disappearing behind them.

Renelle looked at the disappearing mansion for a while before turning back to her butler who was sitting across her.

"What does my butler intend to do now?" She asked.

"Now," Adrian muttered looking outside the window before turning back to her and smiling, "it’s a secret."

Renelle looked at him with a raised brow before asking, "This secret wouldn’t happen to be at the North, would it?"

Adrian chuckled at the question before answering, "Perhaps."

Renelle looked at him for a moment longer before realizing that was all she was going to get out of him on the subject.

With a sigh, she looked out the window and said, "After the North, I assume we’ll start searching for the founder’s dungeon?"

"Hmm," Adrian nodded, "the headmistress promised a way of finding him after the tournament."

Renelle silently nodded as she paid attention back to the people of the South as the carriage continued moving towards the gates.

She had a feeling that that search was going to be anything but simple.

And at the same time,

She couldn’t help but anticipate it.
