The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2374: Reaching the Second Layer of the World of the Root

Chapter 2374: Reaching the Second Layer of the World of the Root

Of course, Cain was not one to dwell on problems. Problems existed to be solved, and solutions were always within reach for those with the will and power to pursue them. His focus now was clear: he could elevate two more of his people into Knights of the Scarlet Throne. Fortunately, the candidates were already chosen.

"They are the strongest," Cain murmured to himself. "And they have proven their loyalty beyond doubt. If I choose them, they will not fail me."

The eyes of the Scarlet King glowed with iron determination as he prepared to continue his work.

---

The incursions into the World of the Root had followed a precise rhythm. Every two weeks, without fail, the Nine Empyren Suns Alliance launched another assault. The interval was carefully chosen—long enough for their warriors to recover, but short enough to prevent the World of the Root from fully healing the damage it sustained during the last incursion.

Yet this time, something was different.

Two weeks passed.

Then three.

And still, no call to arms came from the Warmaster of the Alliance.

Confusion spread among the ranks as they wondered why the Scarlet King had not summoned them. As nearly a full month passed since the last incursion, restlessness began to grow. Veterans sharpened their weapons with increasing impatience, and even the most disciplined warriors felt unease creeping into their hearts.

After all, the longer they waited to attack, the more time the Heart of the Root had to heal, making all the hard work go to waste.

Then, at last, the summons came.

The Scarlet King called the full forces of the Alliance to march.

The armies surged through the void in vast formations until they stood once more before the colossal World of the Root. Countless eyes sharpened with focus as Cain stepped forward, raising the All-Devouring Eye. With a thunderous release of power, he began to consume and weaken a section in the Wall of Fire and Flesh.

Battle was imminent.

Yet despite their readiness, many warriors could not suppress their curiosity. Standing beside Anark, the True Depravita of the Void, were three figures cloaked in scarlet robes. Their presence radiated overwhelming pressure, enough to draw glances even in the moments before war.

To stand beside Anark was itself an honor reserved for legends.

Who were they?

Before anyone could speculate further, the All-Devouring Eye released a massive beam of energy. The Wall of Fire and Flesh ruptured violently, revealing the corrupted surface of the World of the Root—and with it, Robuke, Radagon, and the other monstrous powerhouses of the Root.

The Scarlet King wasted no words.

He advanced immediately, flanked by Markin and Kaizer, the two stalwarts who still dominated the frontlines in order to prove their loyalty. Explosions erupted across the sky almost instantly, turning the heavens into an inferno.

Anark followed, violet primordial force exploding outward as he collided head-on with Radagon.

And at that moment—

The three hooded figures revealed themselves.

Their crimson robes shattered under surging power as they marched forward to face the three strongest High Lords of the Root.

The first figure blazed like a living sun.

Golden armor encased his body, radiant and indestructible. He wielded a massive shield and an armored blade, both burning with divine fire. There was no mistaking him.

Leonidas.

Yet something was different.

His Ego Wave was monstrous—nearly double that of super powerhouses that led entire Empyrean Worlds such as Cipher and Uriel. The sheer pressure of his presence distorted the battlefield around him.

And the shock did not end there.

The second figure was a towering humanoid clad in sleek white armor. His helmet was smooth and faceless, crowned by a luminous halo that granted it a regal yet menacing presence. Wisps of ethereal smoke flowed endlessly from his form as overwhelming life force and raw power emanated outward.

The third was equally imposing.

His figure forged of metal and flame, radiating destructive might. Layered white and black garments clung to his frame, torn and scorched as molten fire coursed through the seams. A smooth, angular mask concealed his face, cold and inhuman. From his back rose blazing, wing-like arcs of fire, carrying the power of death to its absolute peak.

Though their forms were new, their souls were unmistakable.

Bael and Amon.

The brothers had finally awakened their Resurrección.

Their power had risen exponentially.

Their wills and egos burned at an astonishing rate—yet showed no signs of exhaustion, as if they possessed inexhaustible reserves. When the trio finally clashed with the High Lords of the Root, the surface of the world trembled violently.

The shockwaves surpassed even those created by Markin, an Alpha-Omega Overgod.

Confusion and disbelief spread across the battlefield.

Even the forces of the Root faltered, their expressions filled with awe and uncertainty at the sudden emergence of such overwhelming power.

But among the warriors of the Nine Empyren Suns Alliance—

Smiles appeared.

They did not hesitate.

They cast all questions aside and surged forward, their morale igniting as they felt their side’s power rise yet again. The battlefield exploded into chaos as the Knights of the Scarlet Throne created a devastating domino effect.

The Alliance pushed deeper.

And deeper.

Until at last, the battlefield was driven directly onto the landmass itself.

Robuke and Radagon roared with hatred and fury as waves of fire and destruction erupted in every direction. Entire continents were consumed within minutes—not merely shattering structures of flesh and decay, but tearing apart the very foundation of the world.

Yet while the leaders of the Root burned with rage—

Cain and Anark were elated.

They attacked with everything they had, unleashing relentless devastation. The Monster and King of the Root were blasted into the ground again and again, unable to halt the overwhelming momentum.

Then—

A massive explosion tore through the surface.

Not merely damaging it—

But piercing through it entirely.

A colossal hole opened in the World of the Root, revealing what lay beneath.

The Second Layer.

Cain’s eyes ignited with exhilaration and triumph.
