Chapter 2295: To the Fourth Realm (I)
Cain’s eyes sharpened as he heard those words. He could clearly sense the aura of the Enlightened One, and there was no doubt that the journey within the Red King’s Sacred Dimension had produced a profound, almost transcendent effect on him.
Not only had his mastery of the Flow risen to a shocking level, pushing his cultivation firmly into the Peak ArchDeity Rank, but Cain could also feel something far more significant beneath the surface. The man’s Dream had evolved. Its foundation had stabilized, its direction clarified, and the invisible gate toward the Alpha–Omega Overgod Rank now stood partially open.
Yet Cain knew better than most that power alone was never enough to survive in the higher realms.
"Are you sure?" Cain asked calmly. "My goal is to grow stronger as quickly as possible. I will face the powerhouses of the Freedom Path head-on. There will be relentless bloodshed and constant danger. I thought you preferred not to spill blood unless it was absolutely necessary."
The Enlightened One met Cain’s gaze without hesitation and nodded slowly.
"That is true," he replied. "I have always preferred peace and tranquility. However, after shattering the chains that bound me for countless eons, something within me has changed. I feel the desire to continue rising—to see what lies ahead with my own eyes."
As he spoke, a quiet determination and restrained excitement shone in his eyes. For a long time, he had been content with his strength, believing that wisdom mattered more than standing at the peak. But now, the path forward had revealed itself clearly. He had the opportunity to ascend into a higher realm of existence, and he had no intention of turning back.
"As for bloodshed," the Enlightened One continued, his voice steady, "our cause is honorable. I fight to protect my people and those close to me. If that requires violence, I will not hesitate."
Cain studied him carefully. He could sense the resolve beneath the man’s calm exterior, as well as a faint but unmistakable killing intent—quiet, controlled, and honed through long ages of restraint. After a few moments, Cain nodded and allowed a small smile to appear on his face.
"Then let us advance together."
With that settled, Cain turned toward Zarazel.
"Things are in order here," Cain said. "I will leave my Divine Kingdom behind. I expect you to protect it while I am gone."
Originally, Cain had intended to ascend alongside his Divine Kingdom. Doing so would have greatly eased the burden of crossing realms and stabilizing his power. However, it would also drastically slow his pace of advancement, potentially taking years to move from one realm to another. Cain intended to rise as fast as possible. Leaving the Divine Kingdom within the Second Realm—where it would be relatively safe—was the better choice.
Zarazel nodded immediately. He had realized that he and Cain were no longer on the same level. If Cain could kill Urin, then killing him would not be difficult. Still, he did not accept this responsibility out of fear, but out of respect—and gratitude for everything Cain had done for the Life Path.
"Where exactly are you going?" Zarazel asked. "I can inform our comrades in the upper layers so they can prepare for your arrival."
There was no reason to keep it secret, so Cain answered directly.
"I will go to the Fourth Realm first. I intend to meet the Three Moons."
At those words, Meylin’s eyes sharpened slightly, though she remained silent. The Three Moons were the force that had sent her into the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe. While she had been born under their authority, their relationship was far from simple. She had been born to die and reborn, molded as a piece in a greater design. And the prophecy of the Demon King’s Tomb was something she had never trusted.
Zarazel noticed Meylin’s reaction but did not dwell on it. He nodded thoughtfully.
"I understand. The one in charge of the Fourth Realm is Skull Lord. He is extremely powerful—far stronger than me. Even so, the situation in that realm is very delicate. You need to be careful."
Cain’s eyes narrowed slightly. Although he was stronger than Zarazel, the difference was not overwhelming. If Skull Lord was much stronger still, and the Fourth Realm remained unstable despite that, then it was clear that the Neo-Angels of the Freedom Path were anything but insignificant.
"I would also like to meet the Demon King," Cain added. "Can you share his location with me?"
Zarazel fell silent. It was not strange that Cain wanted to meet the Demon King, given that he was aiming directly at the upper echelons of the Freedom Path. However, the Demon King’s whereabouts were among the greatest secrets of the Crimson World. Every move that entity made caused cataclysmic upheavals across entire realms.
"To be honest," Zarazel said after a moment, "I do not know his exact location. And even if I did, I would not be permitted to share it. However, I can pass along your request. By the time you reach the Fourth Realm, Ancestor should have responded—if he wishes to meet you, he will let you know where."
Cain nodded immediately. That was more than sufficient.
"Thank you."
He clasped his hands and performed a slight bow toward the True Depravita of Fear. Zarazel returned the courtesy before turning and heading back toward the Heart of Sin. The situation for the Life Path had improved dramatically, but there was still a great deal of work to be done, and he needed to mobilize the remaining forces.
Soon, only Cain, Meylin, and the Enlightened One remained.
Cain turned to them and spoke without delay. "Make sure you do not leave any unfinished business behind. I do not know when we will return. Once you are done, come back to me, and we will move toward the Fourth Realm."
The Enlightened One frowned slightly as he looked at Cain.
"We will move without any form of external assistance?" he asked. "Is that safe?"
After witnessing Ragnarok, the Enlightened One had no doubt that Cain could tear through a realm barrier. However, that technique clearly carried a severe backlash. Entering a new realm while injured or unstable was far from wise.
Cain simply smiled.
"There is no need to worry," he said calmly. "I have everything planned."
