Chapter 1699: All-out War
Chapter 1699: All-out War
Qallupilluits’ queen roared, and all of her daughters turned around, jumping back into the black water to cross the river and assist Arad in battle. They had lost, and now followed a new master.
The Yetis’ chieftain had abused them long enough, and it was time for them to change. The Qallupilluits’ queen’s eyes glared at the chieftain, waiting to watch him die and get torn apart by either Arad or her daughters.
The Yetis’ chieftain glared at Arad with rage and malice burning in his blue eyes. What is this weird and bald Yeti? How did he survive the black water, and why is the Qallupilluits’ queen following his orders?
The chieftain couldn’t imagine Arad fighting the Qallupilluits’ queen underwater and winning. Even he had to drag her into the shore in the past to fight her and win, and that was only possible because the chieftain of the other tribe sacrificed himself to drag her out.
Yes, those two tribes were once a single massive clan, and that clan crumbled when its chieftain died. His two eldest sons, the strongest two Yetis, split it in half, and each took his side of the cavern.
But then, years later, the Qallupilluits appeared in the river, and the two tribes agreed to join hands and defeat her to keep both tribes safe. One of the two chieftains died baiting the Queen out of the water, and the other managed to fight her and win, effectively being the last chieftain standing.
After his brother’s death, the chieftain had tried to take over the other tribe, but they rejected his rule and fought back, leading to a several-year-long feud.
Qallupilluits’ queen had wanted to kill him for a long time, but never found the chance. She was too big and heavy to move on the shore.
That was the reason she lost in the first place, and the chieftain refused to go anywhere near water to face her.
She needed someone powerful enough to go on land and finish him off, and now she found who she looked for: Arad.
But in her case, Arad was a worse master than the chieftain, because unlike the chieftain, he can defeat her even in water, meaning she’ll never be able to escape his rule. The Qallupilluits’ queen was a monster, and so, she didn’t think too deeply about that part.
Arad had arrived out of nowhere and crushed everything he worked for. The other Yeti tribe was now winning the war, the Qallupilluits turned on him, and his clansmen are now terrified, waiting for him to go fight this new enemy.
Luckily, Arad looked to be in quite a sorry state. Wounded, burned, exhausted, and beaten to a pulp. He looked like he would fall to the ground at any moment. He was a dead man walking, and the chieftain knew that and was going to take advantage.
The right call now is to attack back, hit Arad and the rebelling Qallupilluits, and hit them hard. He didn’t waste a second and jumped forward, swinging his massive clawed fist at Arad’s face. The ground shattered beneath his steps, and the air ripped apart as his claws passed by, crackling with ice magic so powerful that it turned the moisture in the air into snow.
All of the Yetis were B-rank at best, the Qallupilluits were C-rank, the chieftain and the queen, though, were at the upper limits of A-rank.
One hit should be enough to finish Arad; he was already dead.
But then, Arad tilted his head, took a step to the side, and his arms swung around like snakes. He ducked beneath the chieftain’s attack, slid past him, and then unleashed one deadly slap at his back, ripping the sun and fur apart.
The chieftain screamed his lungs out, but never stopped moving. He was a monster far above the normal Yetis, a creature that had seen too much to falter. He turned around, pushing through the pain, and swung his other arm at Arad’s torso.
Arad lifted his spear at the last moment and managed to block the chieftain’s strike, but not without getting blasted into the air, and he was flung more than ten meters away into the middle of the other Yetis.
Arad could feel the bones in his arms cracking, his lungs failing to move, and his eyesight growing blurry. He had already reached the limits of his human body and surpassed them; now, he was just abusing himself to keep moving.
He just needed a moment to catch his breath, but with all of the Yetis surrounding him, Arad had to stand and keep fighting.
Earlier on the other side of the river, Gojo looked across the river and saw Arad emerging from the water, wounded and exhausted. He knew that his brother must be reaching his limit, so he had to rush in and help him.
The Qallupilluits are now on their side, so the river is safer than before. They don’t have to worry about the Qallupilluits attacking and drowning them, so Gojo started immediately.
Gojo ran toward the river and took a step on its surface, freezing several meters of water around him with each step as he ran across, creating a bridge large enough for the Yetis to cross.
The distressed Yeti and the others saw Gojo move, and they followed him, roaring and screaming as they aimed for one last push to decimate the other clan.
It was all-out war now.
Gojo reached the other shore in seconds and took one massive leap, landing behind the chieftain with a carefree smile.
“Yo!” He spoke, and the chieftain who was heading toward Arad froze. He rapidly turned back, only to get slashed across the torso. Gojo’s sword was sharp, but the chieftain’s hide was thick and tough; sharpness alone won’t cut through it. The wound was shallow.
The chieftain was even more confused at seeing Gojo than at seeing Arad. Arad at least had the size of a Yeti, but this new bald one was no bigger than a child.
Yet, those blue eyes and that smile… they were horrifying. Consumed by fear and rage, the chieftain roared and swung his massive arm, aiming his claws at Gojo’s head.
Gojo dodged the swing with a grin and threw a punch with his left arm, an uppercut right at the chieftain’s face.
“That’s my little brother.”
The uppercut was weak, but still zapped the chieftain with a jolt of lightning to try and damage him. As expected, weak spells like shocking touch won’t work, and the chieftain’s other arm came swinging like a bat toward Gojo’s torso.
A thin barrier surrounded Gojo’s side and took the impact. At the same time, Gojo pointed a finger at the chieftain’s side and unleashed a spell, [Shockwave]
Both of them were blasted back, Gojo getting flung away by the chieftain’s heavy strike, and the chieftain getting sent flying back from the deafening shockwave.
The chieftain rolled on the ground and crashed into one of their nests, toppling it down. He stood, dazed and slightly disoriented, but still full of raging malice. He glared forward and saw Gojo walking out of another toppled nest, still smiling.
Three Yetis jumped at Gojo, trying to kill him, but the three of them ended up slashed in half as Gojo’s clone jumped in, cutting them all with ease. They were far weaker than the much tougher chieftain.
And since Gojo’s clone was here… he looked toward Arad and saw the other Yetis protecting him, especially that distressed Yeti they met at the start. He looked really mad that Arad got injured.
