Chapter 1671: The Overlords of Hell
Chapter 1671: The Overlords of Hell
Fractal paled, and his muscles moved on their own. They contracted as fast as they could, cracking his bones in the process. He needed to run away; there was no way he could survive or talk his way out of this.
Two Maharajas, two Asmodeuses, two Tiamats, and Beelzebub. Each of which had more myths and stories about their power, violence, and utter inhuman and violent tendencies. They were beings that even devils feared, and for a good reason.
Maharaja, for example, needs to eat a lot, and since the residents of hell cannot die, she is using them as an infinite food source. That made Fractal feel like a chicken that found itself in front of a tiger, no, a black jaguar.
For the first second, he bolted away without anyone following him. He flapped his wings as hard as he could, and even pushed his curse beyond its limit, flying as fast as a fighter jet, trying to get away with his hide.
The air around him ripped and parted away, howling as several shockwaves burst around his wings, and it even started heating up.
But the terrifying part had just started, and he was slowly realizing the extent of those women’s power. It wasn’t just hell, but the entire universe is ruled by an oligarchy of really hot and terrifying women. Their king is always silent, remaining hidden beyond the veils and controlling the entire universe using them as his tendrils.
It didn’t matter how fast Fractal flew; even after ten seconds of flying in a straight line, he still didn’t clear Maharaja’s titanic claw.
But then, his vision shifted. He wasn’t flying anymore. He was looking straight back at Agnar and Yuwaku, feeling awfully light. His severed head was resting in the jaws of that cat-woman who showed up. In the humanoid Maharaja’s inhuman maw.
How long would he survive as a severed head? A second, two? Wasn’t he like two mountains east? How did she bring him back here?
He could hear her breathing, feeling her massive fangs lodged into his brain and neck, and his lips moved, trying to curse, but her claws clenched shut, and his head popped like a melon.
Then, before Agnar gasp, the entire space between where she was sitting and where she caught Fractal mid-air exploded with fire, then imploded on itself as the after-shock tore the air apart.
Agnar did see Fractal fly away, and he saw him get over several kilometers away in a few seconds, flying at a terrifying speed. But this cat-woman, Maharaja… she let him fly away for a while, like how a cat would let the mouse run, then chased him in the blink of an eye, caught him mid-air, then returned with his head here before the air itself could realize she moved through it. She had covered at least twenty kilometers back and forth in less than a blink.
But what was even scarier was how her face morphed perfectly between a beautiful humanoid face and her bestial maw. That was the most terrifying and disrespectful dental that Yuwaku had ever seen, besides Agnar.
Maharaja’s face looked clean, soft, and beautiful, but when she opened her mouth, inside it were a row of sharp fangs, maulers, and long, razor-sharp teeth. It was like looking into the maw of a big cat, just with more teeth and an even rougher tongue.
Maharaja licked her lips clean, not like a human, but like a cat, which looked uncanny enough to make Yuwaku frown. She then looked up. “Alice, can you heal him-nya?”
From the sky, Asmodeus flew in and landed beside Agnar and Yuwaku, making them flinch. The Devils’ Queen looked disturbingly human. If she were to walk in the street, people would only get drawn to her smooth and golden hair, fair skin, and glowing blue eyes.
She looked at Agnar, then turned around. “Sofia, bring that succubus and slime here. They are injured.”
One of the two Tiamats moved one of her titanic heads and glared right between the mountains without needing to take a single step. “Here you are.”
She said, and Filly had already passed out from fear. Tiamat’s head was even bigger than the mountain she was hiding in, which only made her realize how foolish Fractal’s dream was. Whatever power that jewel could’ve granted him, he would’ve never been able to survive if those horrors came for him.
Forget that destructive battle between Agnar and Fractal, this drakaina in front of her held tens of times more magic in one of her scales than some lesser gods could dream of.
That Tiamat burst into flames and was engulfed by fire. From that Inferno, a tall witch with long black hair, glowing green eyes, and a comically large wizard hat landed beside Filly and Obelisk.
Filly was unconscious; she couldn’t help it. When Tiamat stood nearby, it was like a volcano had erupted, and Filly’s soul was nothing more than a candle. Its flames were snuffed out, and its wax melted and evaporated.
Sofia blinked, looking down at herself. She had made a grave mistake. To keep her image in hell, she never tuned her aura down against devils and sinners. If any of those two dared approach her and they weren’t powerful enough or marked, their souls would be faced with the entire harrowing pressure of her divine and draconic aura.
While Beelzebub was weaker, the other six were all like this. The Devils couldn’t even get close to them without their direct consent.
“Oh my! She shat herself and died… Oh, well. She’ll resurrect soon.” Luckily, Obelisk wasn’t a native of hell, so Tiamat’s aura automatically excluded her.
Filly didn’t just pass out when Tiamat faced her; she gave up on life and died on the spot. Her mind and soul were unable to withstand being gazed upon by the draconic divine queen.
Tiamat looked down and reached with her hands, wrapping her fingers around Obelisk’s smooth and round blue body. She then lifted her up with a gentle smile.
Obelisk was dying, and she won’t last long. If she dies, then hell would chain her up, and she won’t be able to leave. Dealing with that would be a huge pain, so she’d better keep her alive.
Thankfully, slimes were resilient, and she was probably the strongest witch to ever live.
She lifted one finger and waved it above Obelisk, her ruby red nails drawing a red line of magic. “Jingle, jingle, the slime’s stomach wriggles when food dingles.”
Filly’s dead body floated up and got pulled into Obelisk’s body, getting digested and serving as a small source of power to allow her to be healed.
When she was certain that Obelisk had stabilized, she flew back with her to the others. And unlike everyone else here, she didn’t just fly with wings or with magic. She pulled an old broom, jumped on it, and scooted away, leaving a trail of flower-shaped flames behind her.
After reaching the peak of her power, Tiamat, named Sofia, had turned to trying to customize her magic. For the past couple of centuries, she has only cared about how her spells and magic looked.
The chant, the flowers, the witch dress, and the broom served no purpose besides to boost her look, and she was one of the very few beings who could afford to laze and work on her look like that.
She was now more interested in painting her nails and tweaking her clothes than actually ruling the dragons. Which was only possible because there were two of her.
Alice finished healing Agnar, and she looked at Selena. “So? What will you do with him now? He returned to hell.”
Selena scratched her head, thinking. “I know-nya… now I can’t just send him back-nya…” She turned toward Alice. “You’re Asmodeus, can’t you do something about it with your power-nya?”
“I can’t. Amaterasu can, but it’ll take her a lot of work, and I doubt she’ll bother. Besides, if he returned to hell, it must be fate.” Alice looked at Agnar and Yuwaku.
“I’m sure you two are a bit confused. But we’ll explain later.”
Agnar was still confused and had too many questions. But now, he wanted to go back home and eat something warm… The problem was that he was aware that he couldn’t leave hell anymore. From now on, this was his home.
He died in hell, and now was bound to it.
Then, a tall woman covered with goo landed. She was almost three meters tall, had blueish skin and hair, and two eyes that crackled with lightning. She was Beelzebub, the Devil Lord of the seventh layer of hell.
