The dragon's harem

Chapter 1668: Demented Fury

Chapter 1668: Demented Fury

The moment Agnar’s eye healed, he lunged forward. He didn’t run, but instead stepped on his own lightning, taking a thunderous step forward. A shockwave exploded around him, and a spark of black lightning carried him forward at blinding speed.

The devil, Fractal, lifted his spear at the last second and blocked the paw strike, but that didn’t prevent Agnar’s size, weight, and speed from carrying him away, blasting a titanic hole in the steel walls of the vile keep.

Fractal looked fine, but he wasn’t. If Agnar’s paw strike was all physical, he would’ve only been bothered, but as it seems, Agnar’s whole body was overcharged with black lightning. Millions of amps and volts surging across his black hide, unseen, but far too deadly. One touch would be enough to fry any weak devil on the spot.

But Fractal wasn’t any devil, and such a deadly current wasn’t enough to stop him. At best, it felt like getting zapped by a taser, a pain which he can easily ignore and endure.

It was annoying, though, so he had more reasons to kill this black jaguar quickly.

The two crashed outside the castle walls, rending the ground beneath them into ash. Before any other devil could even approach, the two flew out of the dust at blinding speed.

Fractal’s spear moved fast enough to turn into a blur, but even then, it wasn’t fast enough to keep up with Agnar’s crazed paws. Just like how a cat can swing its paws faster than it can run, Agnar’s paw strikes were too fast for Fractal to deal with, so many of them slipped past his spear and smacked him around like a yarn ball.

Agnar was going as hard as he could, and he’s been fighting like this for a while now, pushing his mind and soul to their utmost limit. The last few minutes of his life had turned into hell, as expected of getting thrown into hell.

But he had learned a few things. The more devils and curses he injects, the stronger his jaguar form gets. The more he eats, the bigger and stronger that form will get.

His regeneration also grew immensely in power, but it was still nowhere near that of other devils or vampires. It’ll take him a minute to heal a wound they would heal in a second, which meant that he can’t take as many risks in a fight.

There was also another layer to his regeneration, its fuel source. It had turned from just his food into his own flesh and bones. He’ll consume all of his nutrients to heal, but when that runs out, he’ll start breaking down his own muscles, bones, and frame to heal, shrinking in the process.

But that didn’t mean a well-place and powerful strike wouldn’t be able to kill him. He already died several times when he got hit with the wall’s cannon barrage. As long as an attack can kill him faster than he can heal, he can lose.

This was a fact that Fractal seemed to figure out quickly.

He dodged Agnar’s strokes and flew away, propelled by a stream of immolating fire.

“What a violent cat. But do you honestly think I can’t hunt your kind?” He spun his spear, and then in the blink of an eye, flashed past Agnar fast enough to cause several sonic booms to explode between them.

Fractal landed on the ground, black smoke coming out of his skin as faint blue flames burned inside his eyes and mouth, melting the ground beneath his feet.

Agnar, in the back, was standing in place, motionless, as he was missing his head. The head was in the sky, spinning violently as it was flung by the deadly shockwave of the attack.

Fractal had attacked his neck and shattered it like a stem of grass getting hit with a stick. Torn apart with ease.

“Poor animal. You were faster than that slime, but you aren’t stronger than it. Your skin is tough, but nothing that I can’t blast through with my incinerating flames.” His spear was faintly oozing black smoke, and its heat was what was melting the ground.

“My curse is the flames of purgatory. It’s an incandescent flame, hot and powerful enough to propel me, burn anything, and generate enough power to overpower anything but the lords of hell.” He smiled, opening his disgusting mouth and extending his tongue outward.

“Before, I had a flaw that was a time limit of around six seconds before I ran out of cursed mana and fell down. But thanks to this jewel, I can now last for hours.” He chuckled, “Now I only need the second one, and it’ll increase the power of my flames to surpass that of the lords of hell.”

But then, something strange happened. The clouds in the sky roared, and a bolt of black lightning came crashing down, hitting Agnar’s spinning head and still standing body.

The head flew back down, attached itself to the body, and Agnar was once again flying toward Fractal as fast as that black lightning was, boiling with rage.

This was surprising and terrifying. Devils usually took several minutes, sometimes even hours or days to resurrect, and they would resurrect from the ground of hell. As if reborn from its cursed hull. But Agnar was different; he was reborn from hell’s raging lightning, coming back to life in less than five seconds.

Fractal dodged Agnar’s charge and landed far away, engulfed in the immolating blue radiance of the infernal flames.

“Good, you’re a persistent one.” He smiled, causing his flames to grow even bigger. “But I am an ambitious one too, and I’ll be ending your existence here.”

Agnar’s body burst into black lightning, getting overcharged as he got ready for a prolonged clash.

Of course, Agnar’s power didn’t come free, and getting chained to hell upon death was just a side effect. The true cost of his power was pain and agony; everything hurt enough to make him forget his name. The black lightning burned him from the inside out, the enlarged body cracked his bones, and his fragile human mind was barely able to stay conscious, piloting the harrowing body of a devil.

He would rather be skinned alive than spend another second in this form, but he had to fight. He had seen them, the dying Obelisk and imprisoned Yuwaku. This devil dared put his rotten claws on them, and he won’t be forgiving him, nor letting this matter rest.

The more it hurt, the angrier he got, and the angrier he got, the crazier he felt, causing him to force more power out and bask in his own agony.

It was like an aching scar; it hurt, so you scratch it. But the more you scratch it, the worse it’ll get and the harder you’ll scratch once more, causing it to get even worse and bleed.

As the two charged at each other, the ground quaked, the earth melted, and the sky cried acid. A violent storm of explosions, fire, shockwaves, lightning, and arid wind washed over the desolate planes of, rending everything in its path into ash.

The surviving devils on the castle walls started out in terror. Their lord was now clashing with the unidentified feline creature, and it was taking longer than the fight with the Demogorgan slime, probably since the black jaguar was faster and could resurrect over and over, unlike the slime.

But they knew one thing: the very ground of hell was melting, as if two devil lords were clashing, and it didn’t look fun, not one bit. At this rate, the other lords of hell should’ve felt it and must be on their way here.

Their lord must quickly up wrap this fight so they can abandon the castle and hide somewhere else. The devil lords of hell were pretty much against any new lord rising to power.

But that wasn’t the part scaring them the most, but it was the fact that the jaguar was a rakshasa, meaning that most likely, Maharaja herself might be coming to investigate the fight. The God Eater herself.

What’s more… word is that Maharaja, Asmodeus, and Tiamat are in bed together, meaning that they could even have the Lady of Hell herself, and the mother of all evil dragons here in just a few minutes.

But as expected of their lord, the fight didn’t last more than a minute or two, even though that short time felt like ages.

The massive black jaguar flew out of the cloud of destruction, leaving a trail of burning blood behind him as he crashed onto the main keep, shattering half of it.

It didn’t matter anymore since they’ll be leaving the castle soon.

Inside the keep, Agnar crashed through the wall, destroying it and hitting Yuwaku’s cage, ripping it apart. The succubus fell down as the wall she was pinned to cracked, and Yuwaku rolled on the hot and crumbling floor, barely managing to stop herself.

But at that time, she didn’t care about herself and rushed to Agnar. He was in the middle of the hall, bleeding. His regenerating was kicking in, but that wasn’t what took him down.

He couldn’t take it anymore, the pain. He reached the limit of his mind and soul, and now was slowly losing his sense of self and consciousness as they got washed away by the tormenting agony.

As Yuwaku touched him, his transformation came undone, and he returned to his humanoid form, causing her to cast in horror. He was burned all over, his guts spilling aside, and his entire frame shriveled and drained of all life.

“Hoo? So you lied.” Fractal landed a fair distance away from them, his eyes glaring aside at the succubus. “It’s the human kid that was with them.”

He smiled. “Mind telling me why you lied to me? Is it one of your kinks to be enslaved by a kid? Are you taking their side? Or they are taking your side?” He chuckled. “If this was a ploy to take me down, I have to give you credit for it. This was the most creative chaos I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Yuwaku glared at the devil, and he smiled.

“It’s useless. Even if the cage is broken, I still have the seal in my eyes. Your beauty can’t blind me.” He leaned on his spear. “Now, time to finish this and bolt it out before the true horror of hell shows up.”

But then, Agnar’s hand moved, resting on Yuwaku’s thigh, then his lips moved.

“Flaunt and Flourish…”
