The Devil Who Claimed Me

Chapter 197: Bianca tried to kill Mila.

Chapter 197: Bianca tried to kill Mila.

Looking at Mila’s smiling face, Bianca’s heart burned.

The man beside her looked wealthy, far wealthier than anyone Bianca could afford to have in her life.

Compared to Mila, Bianca’s life had fallen apart. She was no longer the privileged Vega princess she had once been. That life had disappeared a long time ago.

Her boyfriend had abandoned her. She had spent months struggling with money, barely managing to cover her family’s expenses. She had even taken two jobs just to survive.

And now, here was Mila, living in luxury with a powerful man like Dominic.

Bianca’s resentment twisted deeper.

’How can she live so happily while I’m suffering like this?’

"That house belongs to me," she muttered under her breath. "The wealth she enjoys is mine. But she took everything away from me."

Every laugh from Mila, every glance she exchanged with Dominic, every small gesture of affection between them felt like a deliberate provocation.

Bianca’s blood boiled as she watched them standing so close together.

"Mila..." she hissed through clenched teeth. "You caused misery to my family. We are suffering because of you."

Her breathing grew heavier. "You don’t deserve to live happily."

She pulled out the fruit knife from her bag—the knife she had used to cut apples for her mother. Her fingers tightened around the handle.

"Go to hell, Mila." With a furious cry, Bianca charged toward her.

Everything happened in an instant. People nearby froze when they saw the knife.

"Ah..."

"Someone stop her."

"She has a knife."

People screamed and hurried backward.

Mila stood rooted to the spot, her eyes widening in shock. She never expected Bianca to attack her.

But Dominic reacted instantly. Before Bianca could get anywhere near Mila, Dominic stepped forward and kicked her hard in the stomach.

"Ah." Bianca’s body was thrown several meters backward. She crashed onto the floor, and the knife slipped from her hand.

Before she could recover, two men in black suits rushed forward and pinned her down.

Dominic immediately turned toward Mila. Worry flashed across his face.

"Are you okay?"

Mila was still trembling. She stared at Bianca in disbelief, struggling to process what had just happened.

Bianca had actually tried to kill her.

Mila shook her head silently.

Dominic pulled her into his arms. "It’s over now," he murmured. "I’m here. No one can hurt you."

Mila remained stiff against his chest, her heart pounding violently.

Then Bianca’s furious voice shattered the moment. "Mila, you bitch."

She struggled against the men restraining her. "You took everything away from us and threw us out of our own house to suffer. We’ve been living in misery while you flaunt your perfect life in front of me."

Hatred burned in her eyes. Tears gathered in them as well.

"My mother is in the hospital fighting for her life, and you don’t care. You let your own family suffer."

The words immediately caught the attention of the people surrounding them. Whispers spread through the crowd.

"She did that to her own family? How cruel."

"She threw her own family out onto the street? That’s heartless."

"People like her should be ashamed of themselves."

Hearing the accusations, Dominic’s expression darkened. His anger flared.

"Shut up." His thunderous voice silenced the entire area.

Everyone looked at him.

"You know nothing about Mila. How dare you judge her without knowing the truth?"

The crowd fell silent. No one dared say another word.

Mila gently touched Dominic’s arm. "Let me handle this."

Dominic looked at her. There was still anger burning in his eyes, but after seeing the determination in hers, he stepped back.

Mila turned toward Bianca. "You blame me for your suffering? You and your mother made my life miserable from the day I was a child."

Mila pointed at her. "You bullied me. You framed me for things I never did. You made Father punish me for mistakes that were never mine. And every time I cried alone, no one came to comfort me."

Her eyes glistened with tears. "Not even my own father." She took a slow breath. "He always favored you."

The crowd grew quieter.

Mila’s voice trembled slightly, but she refused to look away. "Since childhood, you took away everything I cared about. You even seduced my fiancé. You tried to take the company my mother left for me. You tried to take the shares that legally belonged to me."

Her gaze hardened. "And now that I have finally taken back what was rightfully mine, you accuse me of stealing everything from you?"

Bianca twisted violently against the men holding her.

"Vega BioCorp is the company my mother built," Mila said firmly. "I am her legal successor. When the time came, I reclaimed it. Tell me, Bianca—what exactly did I do wrong?"

Bianca gritted her teeth. "You are still pretending to be so righteous. The Vega mansion and the company belonged to my father. I am the only legitimate heir. But you stole everything from us. You destroyed my family."

Mila took a step closer to her. "Let me remind you of something, Bianca." Her voice became colder.

"The Vega mansion is my mother’s paternal property. She transferred it to me. Yet you and your family lived there for years as if you owned it. And Vega BioCorp?"

She took another step forward. "Father was only its caretaker until I was old enough to take over. I chose to become a doctor because I had no interest in running the company."

Her eyes narrowed. "But instead of respecting my choice, all of you conspired against me. You tried to take my shares so that I could never reclaim what was legally mine."

A woman in the crowd shook her head in disgust. "What a scheming woman. She conspired against her own half-sister and then blamed her for everything."

"She even tried to kill her."

"She should be handed over to the authorities."

Angry voices rose around Bianca.

She looked increasingly desperate. "No."

Tears streamed down her cheeks. "I did nothing wrong. She is the heartless one. She didn’t just throw us out of our home—she even refused to pay for my mother’s medical treatment."

The crowd quieted again.

Bianca seized the opportunity. "My father went to her and begged her for money to treat my mother. But she refused even though she knew our financial situation."

Her tears fell faster. "I’m working two jobs just to pay for my mother’s treatment. It’s all because of her."

Her voice rose with every word. "My mother is suffering from kidney failure. Her treatment is expensive. We need money to save her."

She looked desperately at the people around her. "But Mila refused to help us. She hates us so much that she doesn’t even care about saving the woman who raised her."

For a moment, silence settled over the pharmacy.

Then Mila let out a cold laugh. "You really expect them to believe that?"

Bianca stared at her.

"You think ordinary people like you could afford treatment at a hospital like this?" Mila’s voice was calm, almost frighteningly so. "Look around you, Bianca."

She gestured toward the hospital.

"This is one of the best hospitals in the city. The facilities here aren’t something you could afford with the money you claim you barely have."

Bianca’s face paled.

"Wake up, Bianca." She paused deliberately. "Your mother is receiving treatment here because of me."
