Chapter 70: Landing on the ’Island’

Fear of hell has created more believers than love for heaven.

In fact, Edgar really couldn’t stop Hillel.

He could play the role of Homelander’s father, but he was helpless against Hillel.

Sometimes, The Guardian was more like a real daddy.

Late at night.

A-Train arrived at the balcony of Hillel’s apartment.

He had a USB flash drive in his hand.

"Just like we discussed, everything is in here."

He handed the USB drive to Hillel.

"The Chairman of the Church of the Collective, Alastair Adana, is indeed secretly trafficking people."

Hillel took the USB drive, asked Starlight to bring over the laptop, and then opened the files to take a look.

It was shocking once he took a look.

On the surface, Alastair Adana is a famous charity leader in all of America, raising over 300 million dollars annually in the name of the church to fund hundreds of schools and hospitals.

But in reality, this guy has a huge connection to Little Saint James Island.

You might be unfamiliar with the name Little Saint James Island, but it has another name... the Epstein island.

The folder contained a lot of evidence.

Photos, videos, transfer records, flight information, and even communication logs.

"I traveled to thirty-seven countries and tracked at least hundreds of leads to collect all this. It’s hard to imagine that behind this one man lies a high-level network of connections across all of America."

"Politicians, judges, entrepreneurs, and even the military-industrial complex are all his clients."

"He is trafficking people to the island; some are adults, and some are kids."

Starlight, standing nearby, felt like she was suffocating.

Her family was religious; she didn’t believe much after she became an adult, but her mother was a regular at the church.

The scene before her was simply... hell.

In those photos, the youngest looked no older than ten, both boys and girls.

Annie and A-Train’s heart rates suddenly soared over 100.

Hillel was filled with murderous intent.

People have compassion.

No one could remain calm after seeing these things.

"A-Train, you did well."

Hillel closed the laptop.

He had originally asked A-Train to investigate the Church of the Collective just to frame The Deep, but now...

He felt like killing someone.

"Sir, can I speak with you alone for a moment?"

A-Train glanced at Starlight, hesitating.

"Sure."

Hillel grabbed A-Train’s shoulder, covered him with his Bio-field, and instantly arrived at the Eiffel Tower.

"Speak, there’s no one here."

A-Train stared at the shimmering tower before him, completely stunned.

What the hell kind of speed is this?

Arrived in France in the blink of an eye?

This has to be at least the speed of light!

A-Train felt himself all over, especially his crotch; phew, the goods were still there!

"Sir, what kind of power is this?"

"The Speed Force, kid!"

Hillel patted A-Train on the shoulder. "What did you want to tell me earlier?"

A-Train put on a serious expression and carefully chose his words.

"Sir, every night I use my super speed to dash through the streets and alleys, fighting criminals and doing good deeds for the public as you requested."

"Once, I saved a child."

"He was crossing the street, and a truck came around the corner and almost hit him."

"It was supposed to be just a small favor, but that child’s eyes... you know, he just looked at me. There was no traffic, no script in those eyes, only the purest gratitude!"

"I know I was wrong, I really know I was wrong."

A-Train suddenly grabbed Hillel’s shoulder, his expression full of guilt.

If Hillel hadn’t stopped him, he likely would have caused a tragedy, smashing an ordinary person to pieces.

"Reggie, you didn’t cause a major disaster, you know?"

Hillel comforted A-Train. It was the first time he had called A-Train by his name. "Listen to me, Reggie. You saw a lot of bad things, and these will make it hard for your state of mind to settle for a while."

"Stay home tonight, don’t go anywhere. Get some sleep, and when you wake up, it’ll be a new day."

"You can return to The Seven now."

A-Train didn’t feel much excitement.

If it were before, he would have jumped for joy, or even knelt to thank The Guardian for his kindness.

But after seeing those dark secrets of the Church of the Collective, looking at The Seven, he only felt that he had been wasting his time all these years.

The Seven weren’t doing heroic things at all.

A true hero shouldn’t be like that.

"I want to do some real good, just like you!"

A-Train said.

A-Train had truly felt compassion.

Hillel brought A-Train back to New York and placed him on a street.

"We aren’t ordinary humans, and we aren’t true heroes. If we lost our powers, you might end up on the street doing drugs and selling powder, dying in gang shootouts. I might never have a chance to get ahead in this life, destined to be a loser!"

"We don’t have a noble hero’s heart..."

Hillel floated in mid-air, like a god.

"...but we are willing to be practitioners of justice, in my name!"

Hillel turned and blasted off, flying into the sky like a righteous Ultraman.

A-Train stood in place, his mouth moving slightly, but he couldn’t say anything.

The Guardian has done so many good deeds, yet he doesn’t consider himself a hero?

That’s definitely not the case!

The Guardian is a true hero. If there is a god in this world, he hopes it looks like The Guardian.

"In the name of The Guardian!"

A-Train turned and walked into the crowd.

...

Two days later.

Caribbean Sea, Little Saint James Island.

Three in the morning.

The island was dotted with lights, like an emerald embedded in the azure sea. The white sandy beach was covered with palm trees, and the blue water gently lapped against the rocks on the shore.

Everything was as beautiful as a fairy tale.

"Why are we coming to this godforsaken place in the middle of the night?" Homelander crossed his arms, looking impatient.

"You said we were conspiring on something big, and it turns out you dragged me 2,000 kilometers just to come to a damn vacation island?"

Maeve had her arms wrapped around Hillel’s neck, her eyes full of questioning.

"You’ll know when we go down."

Hillel’s expression was grim, his eyes seemingly burning with raging fury.

Homelander originally wanted to complain, but seeing his murderous gaze, he actually felt a chill down his spine.

"Attack anyone you see later, no need to leave anyone alive... you can spare a few big shots for news."

Hillel blasted off, instantly landing on the edge of the island. The massive impact caused the entire island to tremble.

"What do you mean?"

Homelander followed closely behind. What did he mean by "attack anyone you see"?

Hillel put Maeve down.

The perimeter of the island.

Private armed forces had established the first line of defense here.

One hundred and twenty fully armed mercenaries were stationed at outposts around the beach.

Extending all the way to the villa complex in the center of the island.

These men wore night-vision goggles, were equipped with high-precision assault rifles, wore tactical vests, and carried various advanced throwing weapons.

They were retired elites from the Delta Force and Navy SEALs, hired at high salaries to protect the safety of this island.

When Homelander saw them, they also saw the three of them.

"Unidentified flying objects landed! Twelve o’clock! Go! Go! Go!"
