Chapter 1111: The Continent Jammer [Part 2]

Chapter 1111: The Continent Jammer [Part 2]

Zia, who was currently being spoiled by Sherry and Princess Aracelle, opened her eyes when the lights in the room went out.

She and Sherry couldn’t see anything inside the room, except for a pair of blue eyes that glowed faintly in the darkness.

“A-Aracelle, is that you?” Sherry asked, unsure as she looked at the pair of eyes that were looking at her.

Suddenly, a hand groped her chest, eliciting a frightful scream.

A few seconds later, a giggle reached her ear.

“I’m sorry, you were just so cute, I can’t help myself from teasing you,” Princess Aracelle said.

As if to apologize for scaring her “sister” the Princess conjured a small blue flame on the palm of her hand, lighting the room in a blue light.

Zia calmly propped herself up from the bed, and wore her clothes.

Usually, the emergency generators would have already kicked in by now to supply the hotel with electricity.

But nothing happened.

“My communicator is not working,” Sherry reported as she continued to tap her communicator, which seemed to have shut down completely.

This phenomenon only happened when Zia was near her, but since she was standing a distance away, it should have worked perfectly like it used to.

“Let’s go outside,” Zia said. “Maybe we’ll learn something.”

Just like she expected, Princess Xynalia, Princess Laventia, Siri, and Stella were already at the lobby of the hotel.

“Are your communicators not working as well?” Zia asked.

“They’re not working,” Princess Xynalia replied. “Do you know what’s going on?”

She was in the middle of a meeting with her sister and her Aunt when the lights suddenly went off and the communicator stopped working.

The Jinns had lived most of their lives without such convenient devices, but after using them for a time, they had become an inseparable part of their daily lives.

The timing was also very bad since they were about to come to a compromise with Zion’s proposal, but before they could finalize things, the conversation was cut off completely.

“Sherry, you know how to drive a car, right?” Zia asked.

“Yes.” Sherry nodded.

“Then take Princess Aracelle to Camazotz’s headquarters and ask him to scout the other cities if they are also affected by this blackout,” Zia ordered.

“Okay,” Sherry replied.

For the sake of convenience, they had parked a car at the front of the hotel, so they could leave anytime.

Since they were the only humans in the city that was now occupied by the Jinns, they deemed that they could just do things their way.

But five minutes later, Sherry and Princess Aracelle returned and reported that the car refused to start its engine.

’Did the Artemians use an EMP?’ Zia frowned. ’There’s no way that the Wanderers would use it and target this city, right?’

EMP or Electromagnetic Pulse, was a weapon that could destroy or disrupt electronic equipment and infrastructure.

For the Wanderers who relied on technology in Pangea, this was an Achilles Heel.

Just as Zia was thinking about what to do, Camazotz suddenly landed in front of the hotel and rushed inside the lobby.

“Zion! What happened?!” Camazotz asked. “I was watching this show called Demon Hunters when the TV stopped working! I was near the climax, and this has to happen!”

The Death Bat was very frustrated because just like all the Jinns, it had discovered the joy of watching TV and surfing the internet.

“Good, you’re here,” Zia said. “Immediately scout the neighboring cities to see if they have electricity, and confirm whether this is just an isolated case.”

“Wait, that’s actually a good idea!” Camazotz looked at Zia as if she was some kind of genius. “If they have electricity, then I can watch the show there!”

Without another word, Camazotz left the hotel and flew to the sky at the speed of sound.

He even created a sonic boom when he was leaving.

Clearly, he was somewhat desperate to continue the show he was watching earlier as soon as possible.

“… He sure has his priorities,” Siri commented. “But what do you think happened, Zia?”

“It might be a weapon employed by the Artemians,” Zia replied. “The Wanderers will not use something like this against the Jinns, especially in this city, which is considered as their main headquarters in this continent.”

“Then, what do we do now?” Princess Laventia asked, also feeling a little anxious since she was talking to Roland before their connection was cut.

“We wait,” Zia answered. “That is the only thing we can do.”

While Zia was waiting for Camazotz’s report, the Artemians were also having a hard time on their side.

“Did you still not find the reason why nothing is working like it’s supposed to?” Lysander asked Victor, who was currently the Head Researcher of the Artemian Army.

“It must be some kind of weapon, or a jammer,” Victor replied.

“A jammer?” one of the Ministers asked. “Could it be the work of the Wanderers?”

“Impossible.” Lysander shook his head firmly. “We are in the middle of an important talk. Even if we are enemies, they would wait until we finished the discussion before they made any moves against us.”

His reasoning was sound, so the Ministers wondered if this was the work of the Jinns.

Lysander had the same thought. Although the chances were small, the Jinns might be capable of doing something like this.

Suddenly, a thought crossed his mind, which made him frown.

It wasn’t only him who had come to this conclusion because the Ministers who were with him were also very capable individuals.

“”Lucan!””

The Ministers almost spoke at the same time. Having confirmed that everyone had the same guess, they became inclined to believe that this was the work of their former Commander.

Lysander’s expression turned grim. If their guess was right, then it meant that Lucan had completely broken his ties with them.

“That bastard is trying to mess everything up!” Lysander pounded his table in anger, destroying it completely. “Victor, can you find a way to fix this problem?”

“I will be honest, Commander,” Victor replied. “It will be hard. Our equipment is not working, so anything I must build must be done by hand. Lastly, there is a chance that it might also not activate due to whatever is causing our technology to not work.”

Lysander clenched his fists so hard that his nails dug into his palm.

“Lucan, you bastard,” Lysander cursed angrily. “Even in death, you still want to make things difficult for me!”

Without technology, the Artemians had lost half of their ability to fight.

If not for the fact that they still had the Azothralls as their main fighting force, they might have suffered a setback that they would find near impossible to overcome.

As the continent was trying to understand what had just happened, the Wanderers far out in sea were also confused as they could no longer reach anyone in the Cygni Continent.

Zia, Sherry, Prince Aurelion, and the Artemians were unable to pick up their call, prompting the Wanderers to send a fighter jet to Casimir City to check the current state of things.

However, as soon as the jet entered the Cygni Continent, its engine stopped working, causing it to glide from the sky.

When the pilot deemed that he could no longer do anything, he ejected himself from the plane.

Fortunately, the ejection mechanism still worked, which saved his life.

When the Wanderers from the naval base lost contact with the Jet, they immediately understood that something was wrong… terribly wrong.

“Send a ship to the nearest port,” Lawrence ordered. “We need to get to the bottom of this.”

Christopher volunteered to take the Warship of the 69th Battalion because he was worried about his Master, who had just regained his consciousness not long ago.
