Chapter 1074 - 1074: Battle Through The Heavens [Part 2]
The System God might not be the strongest God in the multiverse, but he believed only a few Gods could defeat him.
Technically, Sun Wukong wasn’t even a God.
He was a Celestial Being whose might had led him to create one of the most popular sagas in the world, allowing him to gain the power of Faith.
But even before Sun Wukong’s name resounded in the multiverse, he had, on more than one occasion, fought against Gods and rebelled against the Celestial Army.
After eating the peaches of immortality, he became nearly invincible, which only fueled his confidence.
He was a very mischievous, stubborn, and arrogant being, only humbled after his face-off with the Buddha.
He then went on a quest for redemption, turning into an existence that fitted his title of the Great Sage, Equal of Heaven.
Back then, Thirteen had been his best friend and most loyal companion since his birth until the end of their journey to the west.
Sun Wukong was a very loyal being. He returned kindness tenfold, and grievances a hundredfold.
And this powerful being, whom even the Gods didn’t dare to provoke so easily, had blocked the path of the System God just to protect his family.
And that was none other than his system, Thirteen.
“Break all the walls that stand before me!” Sun Wukong roared. “Ruyi Jingu Bang!”
With a single swing of his mighty staff, the countless weapons that flew in his direction were all parried and blown away.
However, the System God had already predicted this and summoned small funnels that shot out laser beams that fired at the Monkey King, preventing him from escaping.
To his surprise, Sun Wukong neither dodged nor blocked the laser beams that landed on his body.
He simply stood tall, like an immovable mountain unaffected by the rain of lasers that would have punctured countless holes in the body of an ordinary deity.
But Sun Wukong wasn’t anyone ordinary.
He was extraordinary.
The laser beams struck him one after another, but aside from a bit of smoke rising where they hit, they caused no damage.
But after countless beams landed on the Monkey King, his entire body was covered in a veil of white smoke.
“Sorry, but I don’t smoke,” Sun Wukong said as he walked out of the cloud of white smoke, not even suffering a single scratch from that attack.
The System God eyed the Monkey King coldly before nodding in understanding.
“I see. So your nearly indestructible body is not just for show,” the System God commented.
“Damn right.” Sun Wukong grinned. “Now time for round 2.”
The Monkey King thrust his staff forward, extending it toward the System God, who swiftly sidestepped to the right.
But a moment later, he found himself getting hit by the Monkey King’s staff, which veered in his direction like a swatter squarely hitting a fly.
Deus Ex Machina was caught off guard by the staff’s sudden change in trajectory. He had been confident about his orediction of the staff’s path, which was why he’d only made a minimal movement to dodge.
“I understand now.” Sun Wukong grinned after his staff returned to its normal size. “You lack fighting experience.”
“I don’t need fighting experience,” the System God replied coldly. “I can simulate countless ways on how to fight.”
“Then come.” Sun Wukong made a come over here gesture. “My little bro, Thirteen, have a lot of grievances because of you. I’ll beat you in his place.”
“Hah! You just hit me once and think that you can beat me?” the System God looked at the Monkey King in contempt.
“I never said I think that I can beat you,” Sun Wukong wagged his finger. “I will beat you. PERIOD.”
Deus Ex Machina raised his staff, and countless magic circles appeared around him.
“Heaven Piercer Ray!” The System God unleashed a tenth circle spell that could destroy a world.
But in the face of such destructive might, the Monkey King only grinned and thrust his staff forward, meeting the ray of destructive light that threatened to destroy everything in existence.
The staff not only lengthened, but it also grew in size, becoming as big as a mountain.
The two attacks collided, creating a radiance that many people and Jinns in Pangea could see from afar.
Prince Aurelion, who was currently gathering his army to march towards Cressmont City, looked at the sky with a solemn expression.
Even from a great distance, he felt the waves of power, prompting him to believe that Celestial-Level Existences were fighting in outer space.
‘Is that perhaps the so-called Gods of Wanderers?’ Prince Aurelion thought. ‘But who is he fighting?’
Even though not everyone thought the same of him—granted their lack of knowledge—the ones who had seen the explosion of bright light from outer space also believed that something incredible was happening in a place outside their reach.
But there was someone who was witnessing it live and recording the battle as it progressed.
It was none other than Athena, who had deemed that Sun Wukong was her Master’s ally and the System God to be her Master’s enemy.
The aftermath of that powerful faceoff created a shockwave that rippled in outer space, pushing both combatants a few hundred meters away from where they were earlier.
“Reject humanity!” Sun Wukong, who saw the chance to take the initiative to attack, swung his staff in a wide arc. “Return to Monke!”
The magic circles that the System God had summoned for another tenth circle spell were shattered by the Monkey King’s swipe, forcing him to summon the shield, Aegis, to block the attack that locked him in place.
A resounding clanging sound reverberated in the vastness of space as the strongest shield met one of the strongest physical attacks in existence.
Once again, the System God was blown back a few hundred meters away.
Although Aegis had managed to block the attack, the sheer weight and momentum of Sun Wukong’s staff couldn’t be dispelled that easily.
This resulted in the System God being pushed, but he was mostly unharmed from the exchange just now.
“It seems that I really need to take fighting you seriously,” the System God declared.
“Wow, so you weren’t fighting seriously earlier?” Sun Wukong scratched his head. “But that’s understandable. I’m also only using twenty percent of my strength right now. I can do this all day, you know?”
The corner of the System God’s lips twitched at the Monkey King’s blatant lie.
However, he knew that talking back to Sun Wukong was useless, so he decided to use his true powers, which made him one of the most powerful Gods in the multiverse.
