Chapter 1580: The Second Spirit King

"!!!" All three of them were alarmed once they sensed this lightning bolt. It was different from any other lightning. It contained a massive amount of spiritual energy, so it was clearly not something natural.

If this kind of lightning bolt were to fall upon the city, it would cause a catastrophe. The massive amount of spiritual energy would burst and destroy hundreds of buildings and kill thousands of civilians.

"Did something happen?" Dimitri wanted to block the lightning to protect the city, but Rui moved even faster than him.

Rui had leaped toward the lightning while gathering her spiritual energy. She struck the lightning to stop it and disperse this power in the air, but to her surprise, the lightning suddenly dispersed in all directions. The spiritual energy condensed a few more lightning bolts, this time surrounding her.

"!!!" Rui wanted to get away, but numerous lightning bolts suddenly fell from the sky. They all scattered right outside the city walls.

The soldiers panicked because the simultaneous lightning that remained in the air felt like a cage that trapped the entire city.

"This is..." For the soldiers on the city wall, they could see the lightning right before their eyes. When they looked down, they realized that the lightning did hit the ground but didn’t destroy it. It was so gentle that it remained still.

Then, another burst of spiritual energy blasted away the thundercloud, including all the lightning outside and inside the city, bringing back the clear blue sky for the people in the Golden Dawn City.

A woman floated in the air, as she was clearly the one responsible for all the phenomena. That person was none other than Anna.

Everyone couldn’t help but look up, shocked by what they witnessed.

Rui bowed her head as Dimitri and Incetta arrived and also bowed their heads. They said the same thing, making sure that their voices could be heard by everyone in the city.

"Congratulations, Madam Anna, on becoming a spirit king!"

Everyone couldn’t help but hear what they were saying, whether they wanted to or not.

People gasped, as this was the first time they had witnessed the birth of a spirit king. Not many witnessed Noel’s achievement, so they could only hear it from the rumors. But they finally understood why the spirit king reigned supreme.

The phenomenon alone was scary. If Anna wanted it, she could probably destroy the city in a single move.

But the most important thing was that both their lord and the madam actually reached this stage. If one spirit king was enough for their territory to become the strongest, what about two?

No one really cared about the demon king anymore, even though they had heard the rumor that two demon kings would come to them.

If the enemies had two demon kings, they had two spirit kings. Before, Noel’s achievement in repelling the sky demon king had echoed across the kingdom. So, if Anna were here, she would be able to repel the other demon king just fine.

Anna smiled and nodded her head. "Thank you for watching over me."

"It’s what we should do," replied Dimitri politely. "With this, we will be able to face the demons."

"Hopefully. The demon kings must have predicted this situation as well and will come from an unexpected angle. After all, who would start a war when they know they will lose?" Anna shrugged. "We can only do our best in defending this time."

"That’s true. If they come, they will be sure they can win against us. Whatever it is, we just have to defeat them." Rui nodded.

Incetta, surprisingly, dropped a bomb. "Miss Anna. Can I ask something?"

"Sure? What is it?" Anna tilted her head. Why would Incetta be this serious?

"Can I become your disciple?" Incetta asked.

"!!!" Both Dimitri and Rui widened their eyes.

Noel had helped her a lot, but she never really became Noel’s disciple. At most, Rui was the closest one to being his disciple, but Noel’s disciple was strictly related to runes. So, Noel could only be considered a mentor.

Rather than chasing something useless, Incetta chose a much more realistic option. Even though she knew Anna’s knowledge came from Noel, it didn’t mean she was completely clueless either.

So, this was the best path for her. Besides, Anna didn’t have any disciples. Her attention would focus on her.

This also showed Incetta’s ambition. It looked like she had decided to make spirit king as her goal. She wanted to surpass Lily, her ancestor.

Before leaving, Anna waved her hand and said to every citizen. "I and my husband, Noel Ardagan, vow to fight for humanity. We will kill the demon kings that threaten this land.

"If the demons want a war, then we will give them a war. We will show them that it’s humans who once ruled this world."

"Uoohhh!" People couldn’t help but cheer as Anna’s figure disappeared into the distance.
