Supreme Harem God System

Chapter 2167 Enough of your celestial poetry.

Chapter 2167  Enough of your celestial poetry.

“Could it be…

Could it be that we… died?”

One of the Light Borns spoke, his voice cracking as he looked around. As these words came out of his mouth, this place now felt even eerier.

Generally, they could talk to Lord Light no matter where they were, be it another World or even the void where most communication fails. In their long lives, there had never been a moment where they couldn’t connect to Lord Light. After all, their very lives were connected to Lord Light, allowing them to contact him any time they wanted— all Light Borns knew that.

But what if…

The life that connects them with Lord Light… no longer exists?

He wondered in his head.

Not to mention, before coming here, they were about to face the Anomaly, were they not? What if… they did have a battle and what if… they were defeated…?

Then the question arises—why doesn’t any of them remember it? And there could be many answers to that.

Maybe the Anomaly messed with their minds before the battle ended?

That was very much a possibility. From their investigations, and seeing how even after spending a few hours, they failed to find even a single clue that connected everything to the enemy, it was clear that the enemy was used to manipulating memories.

There was no way none of them would remember him otherwise.

But…

If they truly died…

Then…

“Does this mean this place is an afterlife…?”

The Light Born muttered.

According to what they were told, an afterlife did not exist. In the Universe, if a being dies, his Soul enters the Cycle of Reincarnation, where it is cleansed of the past life it had lived and is reincarnated again in another World.

But…

What if… that was untrue…?

And even if it was true…

What if this place was the Cycle of Reincarnation? A place where they would be ‘cleansed’ before finally losing themselves?

The moment he thought about it, his body trembled.

And it wasn’t just him. With the influence of his words, the other Light Borns around him could feel the same.

“We… were defeated…? All of us…?”

“But… wasn’t Lord Light with us? Didn’t he possess Aadayan’s body? How could we… lose when he was beside us?”

“What if… Lord Light lost as well…?”

Aadayan muttered after a slight hesitation and in an instant—

“Aadayan!”

“Preposterous!”

“Blasphemy!”

The Light Borns reacted strongly, not even entertaining that idea. Their Lord was absolute. How could he, an Infinity, possibly lose against an enemy they didn’t even know about a few centuries ago?

But Aadayan hadn’t said those words without thinking…

“We… lost when our Lord was with us!

We are in the Afterlife, or inside the Cycle of Reincarnation!

What other explain—”

“Afterlife? Cycle of Reincarnation?

You guys sure have strong imagination.”

Before Aadayan could complete his words, a voice full of mockery was heard. In an instant, all the Light Borns turned, staring at the being who had appeared in front of them, and the moment they saw him, their expressions changed.

They…

They knew who he was.

The Anomaly.

In an instant, the Light Borns’ faces turned grim. The Anomaly, however, was different—he just grinned at them and then shrugged,

“But then again, thinking about it from a certain perspective, your guesses aren’t entirely wrong either.

In some way, you can think of this place as the afterlife or the cycle of reincarnation, yes.”

The Light Borns narrowed their eyes at his words. Aadayan carefully stepped forward and—

“If you are here… then doesn’t it mean…?”

“What else would it mean? Lord Light must have squashed him like the bug he is. This battle between the Anomaly and the Supreme Worlds is over.”

Another Light Born snorted with a grin full of contempt.

Nux, hearing those words, blinked, raising his eyebrows in disbelief.

Just… just how brainwashed were these people?

Do they… truly even consider the possibility of their Lord losing?

Is this… the result of standing at the very top since time immemorial?

Nux thought all this. The Light Borns, however, were oblivious to what he was thinking and continued showing their disdain.

“To think he and his people made such a fuss about—what was that? Breaking the chains?”

“It was something about how our rule will rot, influence will burn, and how our name will no longer command fear. Their little group sure did come up with bold words. It was entertaining to say the very least.”

The Light Borns laughed.

“But why is it just him…?”

Another Light Born frowned.

“Where’s the rest? Even if I have fallen in the battle, I would still like to see everyone responsible for entertaining me during the last moments of my life.”

“Who knows? Maybe Lord Light has… other uses for them.”

A Light Born spoke, his eyes shining with a cruel glint—something that Nux found quite amusing.

“Don’t you people represent love and peace or some bullshit like that?

Should you be saying such words?”

He asked curiously.

“As if that matters anymore.”

The Light Born shrugged.

“Leave him be. I am having a hard time understanding how he managed to come here so quickly. With the things he has done, an end like this one… doesn’t it seem… too easy for him?”

“Indeed.”

“Our Lord Light is merciful; maybe he showed mercy.”

Another Light Born spoke, but the rest waved their hands in dismissal.

“We are no longer connected to him or the Supreme World of Light. We no longer need the Energy of Light. Do you not sense it?

Our connection with him no longer exists. He cannot hear us; we can freely speak our minds here.

Merciful?

That being?

Stop playing into his hypocritical theatrics even after your death.”

“Indeed, there is no need for us to do this anymore.”

Another Light Born nodded.

Then one of them stretched his body and—

“Heh, hypocritical bastard.”

He cursed.

“I had hoped I could see his death with my own eyes, but I guess he is too strong for that, huh…”

“Indeed, indeed.”

The rest of the Light Borns nodded.

Nux, who was hearing those words, raised his eyebrow in amusement.

Then suddenly, another one of them stretched his body before looking in a certain direction and—

“How odd.”

He laughed.

“To think we, hailed as few of the strongest beings in the entire Universe, are only able to speak our minds when we have fallen.

Maybe it is true.

Death is the only freedom one can seek.”

The rest of the Light Borns nodded at those words, each adding their own perspective to his words until finally—

“Will you stop with whatever this philosophical bullshit you have come up with?

Enough of your celestial poetry.

I have things I want you lot to do,

So start being useful before I lose my mind.”

Nux snapped.
