Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 618 Control (Bonus)

“Do you want to hear some of my thoughts?”

“!!!” Nathan widened his eyes in shock. “You’re going to teach me?”

“Not to the extent of teaching. You already have a teacher.” Evelyn shook her head. “From the way I can see it, you have been getting stronger too fast. As a result, your techniques are still immature.

“To put it simply, your vertical growth has been so fast that your horizontal growth can’t keep up. Just like a building, the taller the building, the easier it will fall, especially if they don’t have a proper thickness.

“Hence, I’m thinking about strengthening it.”

Nathan’s eyes flashed. “Does that mean you’re going to teach me to become strong enough to be qualified for you, Captain?”

Evelyn grabbed Nathan’s face with her eyebrows twitching. “Don’t make me lose interest.”

Nathan chuckled. Evelyn didn’t realize it, but Nathan had been seeing her expression change a bit more often. Previously, it would just be her having a cold and aloof face, which was hard for others to approach her.

If Bella were here, she would have confirmed that Evelyn had become a bit more expressive.

Evelyn was similar to Selena on the one hand, but her case was much more severe.

“How about this? If you manage to accomplish it, I will tell you what happened in that banquet.”

“!!!” Nathan’s face brightened. “You sure? No taking back.”

“If you manage to do it, that is. How long are you planning to stay here? The longest one.”

“Hmm. I’m supposed to be back in five days, since that’s when we have to discuss our next mission.”

“In that case, the time limit is five days. Follow me.” Evelyn waved her hand.

While walking down the hill, Evelyn explained, “First of all, there is something I want to improve. It is your… what do you call that explosive cube?”

“Just call it a bomb for now.”

“Then, the problem is actually in the explosive bullets. During the first raid, you used explosive bullets and combined them to create a bigger explosion, right?”

“Yes.”

“That method is rather inefficient. I mean, you have that bomb, so why don’t you use it instead?”

“Hmm?” Nathan tilted his head in confusion. “Sorry, I’m not following you here. It’s true that I can shoot that bomb, but it’s just one.”

“From what I can see, you are utilizing the 32-Form Control of Sage Leyfon, right?”

“Yes.”

“You are combining that control together to create an even more powerful explosion for those bullets. On the other hand, the bomb is actually of the same principle, but it has the same principle in the creation process.

“So, instead of combining your explosive bullets, why don’t you split the bomb into several explosive bullets instead?”

“Ah?!” Nathan almost forgot about this. In fact, he had come up with something like this before. However, that was when he hadn’t learned the breathing technique.

As a result, the bomb was so unstable that it wasn’t usable. Even if he wanted to split them, they would just explode.

However, the breathing technique had allowed the creation of the bomb. He could even maintain it for a long time.

The first method, fusion, took longer because he had to individually merge them. On the other hand, the second method was more unstable but faster. However, the dividing method itself was easy. He could split the cube into smaller cubes by cutting them horizontally and vertically.

This method wasn’t possible before, so he forgot about it.

“That’s right. Why didn’t I remember that? I have a breathing technique that stabilizes my ena flow right now, so it’s possible.

“Besides, this is not just for explosive bullets. Even normal bullets will give more power like this.”

Nathan raised both arms, creating a cube as big as his head. Then, he split them into four before these four cubes split into four, resulting in a total of 16 cubes.

All of them were normal bullets, but they had two ‘Concentration,’ which meant each of them had been fused perfectly. They were unstable, but once he perfected the breathing technique, it wouldn’t be a problem anymore.

He managed to summon these bullets at twice the speed.

Evelyn raised a finger and formed a small sphere at the tip of her fingertip. She then tossed it forward and let it hover in the air. “Let’s see how good your control is. How about using all your bullets to attack that small sphere? It’s fine if you end up missing and damaging the area.”

“Don’t worry.” Nathan smirked and sent forth the 16 bullets in the group of four.

They surrounded the sphere from four sides and hit it in rapid succession. Nathan’s control was so perfect that his own bullets ended up neutralizing each other, which caused no damage to the area.

“Hoh?” Evelyn nodded. “Then, try attacking them.”

This time, Evelyn created ten spheres and scattered them.

Nathan wasn’t afraid. He summoned a bigger cube and split it into four three times, creating a total of 64 bullets.

Then, he sent forth 40 bullets to all ten spheres, hitting them almost at the same time.

The remaining 24 bullets were sent up and disappeared. “Like this?”

“How is it? Is it now easier to use your bullets?”

“Yes. In fact, I can’t help but think about the new possible path to go forward.” Nathan grinned. “I might need a glove that can add a ‘Concentration’ on my attack. With a pair of that kind of gloves, I can summon two cubes at once and split them.

“With my current control, I should be able to control up to 36 groups at the same time. Besides, my ena has increased a lot, so using this level of power is possible.”

Evelyn nodded, thinking, ‘It’s no wonder why the Forest Queen took him as her disciple. His thinking is indeed unique, and with just some clues, he is able to advance forward, creating a new possibility. Still, his technique alone can’t be ignored. He might not realize it, but his talent lies in the control of his ena.

‘Now that he gets the method to increase his computation speed to activate his ability, with his control, he should get stronger properly.

‘Still… He is lacking in one area.’
