“Your case is a bit special, Summoner.” Xolotl paused for a few seconds. “You are a familiar, yet not a familiar. You occupy the summoner’s body.
“According to the summoning circle, as a familiar, you are not allowed to do that. Of course, if you want to do it, you might be able to do it by tricking your summoner, but you have to work around it.
“In your case, there is practically no resistance, which is impossible. And for your body to instantly enter the summoner’s body without any knowledge, even I can’t find any possible reasons to answer that.
“However, there is something that might allow you to do it.”
Nathan could only think of one thing that might have the power to change it. After all, this power was able to twist even his fate. “The Soul Contract.”
“Exactly so. You might be summoned, not through the summoning circle, but through the Soul Contract.”
“!!!” Nathan gasped. “What? But when I noticed I had come to this world, I was placing my hand on the summoning crystal and summoned Fenrir.”
“I couldn’t give you the answer either, but that was the only thing possible. The problem was the fact of whether you were the one summoning yourself or the original body of the owner.”
“Wait, so it’s not the original Nathan?” Nathan frowned.
“For the first summoning, it’s certainly the work of the original owner of that body, but for you, who are aware of the timeline and even possess the soul contract, there is no telling whether this is your first life or your whatever life.
“If the Soul Contract is able to twist even fate, then it should have no problem sealing your memory. In other words, I don’t know what is going on with your current condition. It might be your own fault or the original owner’s fault.
“Either way, you are now in this condition. So, the world fragment in your body has been broken, but for some reason, I notice that the broken one is not on the body.”
“Not on the body?” Nathan looked down as if he were staring at his heart.
“Yes. It is in your soul. In other words, the one who is broken is you, as a familiar. This is a different case from all of ours. In our case, the one broken is the fragment in your body, but yours…” Xolotl shook his head.
“Still, you are able to know that this is the work of either me or the original Nathan. The way you say it is as if you are certain that I have been living multiple times, Xolotl.”
“When you are at my stage, you can figure it out easily. Of course, I can’t determine how many times, but I know it has been a couple of times.” Xolotl waved his hand. “It has been hidden quite well, most likely with the Soul Contract. Other people might be fooled, but if they are at my level, they will notice it as well.”
“…” Nathan contemplated. “Well, I don’t think we can figure out the entire situation of my life from this conversation, right?”
“That is correct. I suggest you continue doing what you’re supposed to do.”
“So, what should I do to repair the fragment in my soul?”
“You are not at the level of separating your soul, so I guess we have to call the expert.”
“Ah!” Nathan knew who he mentioned. “Anubis.”
Once Anubis appeared, Xolotl instructed, “You should activate your domain and separate his body and his soul. With your current power, you don’t have to judge him to take out his soul, right?”
“Yes.” Anubis nodded. He activated his domain, separating Nathan’s soul from his body.
“…” Nathan saw nothing change other than the fact that he was a bit translucent. “This is my soul?”
“That’s right. Now, let’s get into it.” Xolotl ignored his reaction and continued directly to the topic. “Right now, you have to do it yourself. Because you are unable to control your body in this state, you won’t have the help of the ena to move them. Fortunately, the ena in your body is calm now, so that means you are able to fix it.”
Nathan was replicating everything he had done previously. Even without a deep understanding of the soul, he could see the sources of the energy that were attached to his soul. These were the shattered fragments that allowed him to manifest in this world.
“Remember, Summoner. Once you fix this, it means that this body is completely yours.”
That’s more like it. I don’t know the reason I came to this world, but I appreciate it. I plan to continue living my own life in this world since I have been given a chance,” replied Nathan as he fixed the fragment in his soul.
Nathan could recall what had happened the first time he was summoned here. He was completely clueless and took refuge in the academy to get any information about this world.
He was scared that it was just a dream and that he would one day wake up in the hospital with a bandage on his head, realizing he hadn’t died in that accident.
With this, his life would be complete. It might be just an illusion, but he was more assured that he was indeed living in this world.
As the repair continued, Nathan could feel what Fenrir had felt earlier. For someone who didn’t have the knowledge of his peak, Nathan thought this was an upgrade instead of returning to his previous state.
The ena flowed even more smoothly. He got the feeling he could unleash 30% more power than he used to.
But when he opened his eyes, the scenery before him changed.
“Hmmm?” Nathan felt something was weird. The temperature was warm, unlike the usual coldness. When he raised his head, he saw his hand touching the summoning crystal.
There were people around him in such familiar uniforms. He couldn’t help but recognize this scene.
‘This is… the scene where I was first summoned to this world?’
“It looks like we will be a good pair, kiddo!” A deep voice echoed from behind, followed by the shocked expressions of his classmates.
Nathan turned around and saw a 3-meter-tall old man holding a scythe. The old man continued by introducing himself. “I am the leader of the Titans, the God of Time, Chronos.”
