Chapter 658 Alerts
“Then, what about the Immortal Dimension?” Kyle asked.
“The Immortal Dimension produces the least stellar objects,” Third Valkyrie said.
“What? Why?” Kyle asked.
“Because they are not in your responsible territory,” she explained. “I am not an Immortal. I do not know the details. I only know that there are territories where the Immortal Dimension creates over 99% of all stellar objects, but in your territory, it basically never happens.”
“The Mortal Dimension produces between 3% and 7% of all stellar objects. Mortals are not strong, but there are a lot of them. It all depends on how many powerful Mortals are on different Planets.”
“When talking about the Elemental Dimension, I have to differentiate between Planets, Moons, and Stars. The Elemental Dimension is only responsible for the creation of about 10% of all Planets and Moons, but it produces over 90% of all Stars.”
“30% of all Planets and Moons come from the Main Dimension, as I have said. The remaining 50% come from the Beast Dimension.”
“Half of the time, you will be sent to a Planet or Moon originating from the Beast Dimension. In that case, you have to be ready to battle Beasts, and you also have to be prepared for a Dimensional Collapse. The level of danger you will face is average.”
“If it originates from the Main Dimension, the level of danger will be very low near the beginning, but it will slowly ramp up.”
“You will not be sent to stellar objects originating from the Hell Dimension. The reason is that the Cult would receive a unique opportunity to place an ambush.”
“Planets coming from the Mortal Dimension are a bit safer than Planets coming from the Beast Dimension. Beasts will most likely still appear, but most of the time, they will arrive after your arrival.”
“The same thing is true for stellar objects coming from the Hero and Immortal Dimensions.”
“The truly dangerous ones are the ones originating from the Elemental Dimension. Trying to predict what is going to happen is impossible. Elementals are very extreme in their characteristics.”
“You can refuse to enter one out of ten stellar objects, which so happens to coincide with the average number of Planets coming from the Elemental Dimension.”
“I would advise you to skip those Planets. When it comes to Elementals, your skill and power don’t matter. They won’t make a difference.”
“You might as well just flip a coin and bet your life on it. It entirely depends on what kind of Elementals are in that area, and only an Immortal can predict that.”
Third Valkyrie took a deep breath.
“Next topic, what exactly are you supposed to do?” she said.
“First,” she said as she activated her communicator.
BEEEEEP!
The next moment, the communicators of the team released an extremely loud alarm.
Then, a display popped up in front of them without their consent.
“NEW PLANET (TEST)!”
That was at the top of the display. Below, Kyle saw several pieces of information.
Energy composition:
32.7% Earth Energy.
19.6% Water Energy.
14.7% Metal Energy.
7.3% Fire Energy.
…
Intensity: Light.
Profitability: Medium.
Size: Small.
Dimension of Origin: Beast Dimension.
Time until departure: 10 Seconds.
“This will be how many of your alerts will look like,” Third Valkyrie said. “The high Water and Fire Energy percentage means this is a suitable Planet to use as a Main Planet or a Wild Planet.”
“However, while a lot of Water and Fire Energy is great for life, that is not something you can easily harvest, which is why its profitability takes a big hit.”
“The reason why its profitability is still graded as medium is due to its small size. The smaller a Planet is, the easier it is to find and get the valuable resources before the Dimensions solidify.”
“This is a very average alert.”
Then, she activated her communicator again.
BEEEEP!
“NEW MOON (TEST)!”
Energy composition:
99.9% Water Energy.
…
Intensity: Medium.
Profitability: Very High.
Size: Small.
Dimension of Origin: Elemental Dimension.
“This is the most painful part of the job,” she said. “This Moon probably has incredibly valuable Water Treasures. This Moon might be worth as much as 20 of your average Planets.”
“Yet, going there would be like flipping a coin. Either you will be very safe or very dead.”
Then, Third Valkyrie used her communicator one last time.
“NEW PLANET (TEST)!”
Energy composition:
34.4% Metal Energy.
31.0% Wind Energy.
14.7% Fire Energy.
9.3% Earth Energy.
…
Intensity: High.
Profitability: Extreme.
Size: Huge.
Dimension of Origin: Main Dimension.
“Congratulations,” Third Valkyrie said emotionlessly. “You just cracked the jackpot. This Planet is filled with valuable metals with very varied properties due to the ethereal powers of wind and fire. You don’t even have to dig. You just go to the Planet and pick up treasures you find on the proverbial ground.”
“If you have a way to deal with very strong gravitational fields, that is,” she added. “Planets that are categorized as Huge can even stop many True Crushers from leaving them, and if you can’t leave, you are gambling with your life again. Either a Dimensional Collapse happens or not. You have no way to retreat.”
Kyle was quite interested in all of these alerts.
These alerts reminded him of the time he had bought booster packs for a trading card game.
For the next few minutes, Third Valkyrie talked more about the details of every point of data on the alert.
For example, intensity referred to how much Energy had been gathered by the stellar object. More Energy meant more valuable materials or a larger size.
When she was done explaining that part, she went to the next topic.
“How is your day going to look like as a Rarity Hunter?” she asked rhetorically.
“For over 99% of all days, you will be doing whatever you want to do. On average, you get one alert every 20 years.”
“During your shift, you have to be inside the branch. One shift lasts 50 years, which means you will get two to three alerts on average per shift.”
“When you get an alert, the Teleportation Formation Array will immediately lock onto you and force-teleport you to your target. The Teleportation will occur after exactly ten seconds of receiving the alert unless you use your rare veto. You start with one veto, and you receive another one after every tenth mission.”
“When you arrive in front of your target, you have to rush towards it as quickly as possible and get as many resources as possible. The longer you stay there, the more resources you can harvest, but the danger also increases. Beasts don’t get teleported to the stellar object, but they can still fly there.”
“If the stellar object is already solid in the Elemental Dimension, the danger you will be in will increase exponentially. Every second in the Elemental Dimension is a second in which a powerful Elemental can find your target.”
“In the best-case scenario, there are no Elementals in the area. Second-best case scenario, there is one, but it doesn’t care. Third-best, the strongest Elemental is an Earth Elemental and is very slow. Worst-case, there’s a Fire or Wind Elemental.”
“It is important to remember that you do not have to remain on the stellar object for the entire hour. That would be too dangerous. Go in, grab as much as you can, and when it gets too dangerous, you have to leave.”
“The thing that kills the most Rarity Hunters is greed.”
Then, Third Valkyrie did something on her communicator again, and Kyle received a message.
“Your shift has started.”
“That’s it. Your job starts now,” she said.
“Good luck.”
And then, she just walked out of the office.
