Strongest Hammer God

Chapter 578 Being Human

Kyle scratched the back of his head. ‘I can see what he means. They have to watch him become powerful, and they probably feel regret about betraying him. If they had simply been by his side, they might have benefited from his powers.’

‘But that’s not how I act. If someone shits on me, they get the hammer.’

Then, the two of them looked at Warp Space.

Warp Space just smiled sheepishly. “My past is not as adventurous as yours.”

“I was recruited before I even reached the First Realm. I was born in a Family Union Formation to two True Crushers. When they had seen my Affinity, they contacted Archon.”

“Archon took me in, and I was raised by my teacher to prepare me for the Mortal Dimension.”

“In the Mortal Dimension, I was handed to a subservient organization of Archon. My True Battles and my lessons were all planned for me.”

“When I became a Transcendent, I was immediately brought to Archon. My training under Archon was more arduous and dangerous, but I managed to survive… somehow.”

“I have not gone through betrayals or anything of the sort. I consider myself lucky, but a part of myself also tells me that I have missed out on life.”

The other two looked at Warp Space.

“A human life is filled with ups and downs. I believe present negativity can turn into future positivity. How can we appreciate what we have if we can’t lose it?”

“That was essentially everything that happened until today. Training, lessons from seniors, and the occasional True Battle.”

Warp Space smiled a hollow smile. “I feel my story pales in comparison to yours.”

‘That explains a lot,’ Kyle thought. ‘She’s essentially been raised in an oppressive environment. She is essentially someone who’s never left their dominant parents’ home while studying to get their PhD.’

‘That explains why she seems so… pure? Mechanical? Simple? One-dimensional? Something like that.’

“No, your story doesn’t pale compared to ours,” Kyle said.

“You don’t think so?” Warp Space asked.

“No, you just went through different problems than us,” Kyle said.

Warp Space remained silent for a bit.

“You might be right,” she said.

“Why?” Kyle asked.

This took Warp Space by surprise.

“Because of what you said,” she said.

“But is that what you think?” Kyle asked.

Warp Space was a bit confused.

She felt like Kyle’s opinion was going back and forth.

Swamp Dragon remained silent and didn’t show any reaction.

“What you say makes sense and is plausible,” Warp Space said.

“So? ” Kyle asked. “Does that make it true?”

Warp Space furrowed her brows. “You’re not making much sense.”

Kyle suddenly stood up. “No, you’re not making much sense.”

Warp Space narrowed her eyes. “I’ve had it difficult as well. It might not compare to your difficulties, but-“

“Ah!” Kyle said, pointing at her. “You see?”

“What?” she asked with annoyance.

“You just contradicted what I’ve said, even though you agreed to it earlier!” Kyle shouted.

“I didn’t contradict anything!” she shouted as she also stood up.

“Yes, you did!” Kyle shouted.

“I said that I had some difficulties, but not a lot!” she shouted in anger.

“There we go,” Kyle said with a smile as he sat down again.

Warp Space just looked at Kyle in shock and confusion.

What the fuck was happening?!

This guy was not making any sense!

The way he was talking and arguing went back and forth constantly!

He was pointing out things as false that were not false, while deliberately misinterpreting her words!

It was like she was arguing with some weird machine that couldn’t understand context!

The next moment, Kyle chuckled a bit and smiled at Warp Space.

“This is called having an argument,” he said. “I thought I would introduce you to the concept.”

Warp Space furrowed her brows. “That seems… childish.”

“Yep, so?” Kyle asked, leaning back. “How is it not being surrounded by powerful seniors who had gone through centuries and millennia of human experiences? You probably never had the chance, experience, or standing to disagree with their opinions.”

“When I disagreed with your story, you folded like a lawn chair. I guess you’re probably used to just accepting whatever anyone tells you.”

Warp Space furrowed her brows. “I am not gullible, if that is what you’re insinuating. I know the difference between blindly believing a statement and evaluating it critically. I have listened to your reasoning and have found it stalwart under scrutiny.”

“Oh, so perfect. So smart,” Kyle said with a sarcastic snort.

Warp Space narrowed her eyes again.

“Hey,” Kyle said before she could say anything. “You said you believe present negativity can turn into future positivity and that a human life has ups and downs.”

“How are you supposed to experience downs when you’re constantly perfect?”

Warp Space just looked at Kyle weirdly.

Another weird argument that seemingly didn’t relate to other statements.

It was like Kyle claimed that orange was red. The things Kyle said made… some kind of sense, but it felt very distorted and forced.

It was like he was grabbing unrelated statements and forcefully trying to combine them.

His argumentation was weak and filled with flaws.

It was strange.

Yet, Warp Space also knew that Kyle couldn’t be stupid. After all, he had shown incredible power during the battle, even surpassing her own, and he was around the same age as her.

There had to be something to his argumentation.

However, no matter how much she tried to find a deeper meaning, it still remained flimsy.

“He’s trying to show you that you shouldn’t believe that there’s a deeper meaning to everything,” Swamp Dragon said. “His argumentation was unnecessarily hostile and weak for no reason. There’s nothing to be learned.”

“The fact that you try to find meaning in something meaningless is funny to him.”

“In summary, he’s messing with you,” Swamp Dragon explained.

Kyle just tried to suppress a smile.

“Messing with me?” Warp Space asked in surprise.

“Yeah,” Kyle said. “Was funny.”

Warp Space furrowed her brows.

She was not very familiar with this feeling of frustration and anger bubbling in her chest.

These feelings made it harder for her to logically evaluate her surroundings.

She didn’t like that.

After a bit, Warp Space took a deep breath and sat down again.

“Welcome to being human, lady,” Kyle said with a grin.

Warp Space glanced at Kyle.

“Being in Archon might be preferable if that is what awaits me,” she said.

Kyle snorted. “Good one.”

“What do you mean?” she asked.

“That wasn’t sarcasm?” Kyle asked.

“No,” Warp Space said.

Kyle waited for a moment.

Then, he laughed more.

“That’s even funnier!”

(Its hard being human 🙁 )
