Chapter 2680 - 2680: Back to the Director's Office
After eating lunch with the girls, I told them about the call I received earlier. Haruko remembered Tsubame but only her name. After all, she knew almost everyone in our middle school when she was the Student Council President. Not only that, I was already involved with her back then. She probably saw me with that girl at some point.
Anyhow, when they heard about how I readily agreed to meet Tsubame tomorrow, all of them looked at me as if they already knew where that meeting would go. Something along the lines of, “Oh? You’re bringing back another one?”
How could I deny that? It was truly a possibility. After all, I had no idea why she wanted to meet me this time when she could’ve moved on with her life and written off our past. We weren’t even together for a long time and she possibly had no idea how many girls I am currently involved with.
I reassured them that it might not go the way they thought it would, considering I was only planning to hear her out and then apologize for my past offenses of stealing and corrupting her. Show her that I’ve changed from the desire-driven guy back then to someone who genuinely cares for others.
But Hana just snorted at that, pointing out that I was still desire-driven, just more honest about it now. Saki added with a smirk that my ‘genuine care’ usually ended with girls melting in my arms. I couldn’t argue with that logic, could I?
In the end, the girls expressed their jealousy with playful threats. Well, I wouldn’t call those threats, given how they simply wanted to monopolize my attention. And I was more than willing to give it to them.
Anyway, when I left to go to the Administration Building, I received a message from Tsubame. It wasn’t anything serious, just the girl wishing me a good day and expressing her nervousness about tomorrow.
She must’ve been feeling restless wherever she is. And so, I called her just until I reached my destination.
“Don’t worry too much, I’ll be there and… if you have any concerns, just tell me.” That’s my final words before cutting the call as I reached the Administration Building’s entrance.
Tsubame’s hesitant “Thank you” lingered in my ear. A fragile sound that made me wonder what ghosts haunted her these past months.
I climbed up the stairs and soon reached the Director’s Office. I knocked thrice and opened it before Hayashi-sensei could respond.
Inside, she was sitting behind her desk, glasses perched low on her nose as she was busily scanning a document. She had her hair tied back tightly today, emphasizing the sharp lines of her face.
Without looking up, she waved a dismissive hand. “Close the door, Onoda-kun. And stop hovering over there.”
I couldn’t help but smirk inwardly as I observed her from this distance. Remembering what happened yesterday, her stern expression seemed like a fragile mask. The way she’d trembled beneath me on that desk as she begged for more…. It’s like a delicious contradiction.
Nevertheless, I maintained a respectful tone as I made my way towards her table, “You’re busier than ever, sensei. Was it because of me?”
“What do you think, you brat? Of all the things, you brought in a superstar to perform at the cultural festival?” Hayashi-sensei finally looked up, eyes narrowed behind her glasses. “Do you have any idea how much paperwork this generates? Security arrangements? Liability waivers? Crowd control protocols?”
She reached for my collar and then pulled me to her side. “You have to take responsibility. You’re assisting me in reviewing every single document related to Asahi’s performance. As for your daily report… just summarize it for me. As long as you’re not making any trouble, I’ll trust you.”
Her voice was commanding, but she couldn’t hide the softness in it as if she couldn’t bear to truly saddle me with burdens.
I moved behind her chair, wrapping my arms around her shoulders, holding her intimately while making sure I wouldn’t disturb her work. “Alright. What should I do, sensei? I have around ten minutes… Eguchi-sensei would be waiting for her Student Assistant, after all.”
“You and your… ugh.” Hayashi-sensei sighed, not finishing her thought as she leaned back into my embrace. Her fingers tapped impatiently on the stack of papers. “Start with these. Nagamine-san sent them this morning. It involves your proposal to select a dressing and waiting room in the Gymnasium. She’ll be back this Monday.”
I skimmed the document detailing soundproofing requirements and electrical upgrades. I loosened one of my arms slightly to start caressing her shoulder, giving him slight relief with my usual massage.. “Seems straightforward. I’ll handle Kaoru-san when she comes back. I’ll just need your approval, sensei.”
“You just have to inform me where. I’ll inform the faculty involved.” Hayashi-sensei sighed, her shoulders relaxing under my fingers despite her clipped tone. Her pen scratched across a liability waiver as she underlined something. “Now focus. This dressing room proposal requires specific equipment that they’d be bringing in. Since you planned it to be a surprise performance, it’ll be done in secret. You’ll either have to come to school early or stay late for setup.”
“I understand. I’ll ask Kaoru-san if they can send it this weekend. I’ll be here tomorrow for… a special swimming class. I can oversee it then.”
With my mention of the special swimming class, Hayashi-sensei looked up at me as if she had picked up another scheme of mine, “Why am I only hearing about that now? What kind of swimming class will it be to be called special?”
Orimura-sensei didn’t tell her? Well, thinking about it, it’s only an exception for Yuika-senpai. Of course, she didn’t bring it up to the higher-ups. Just like last week, she just let us into the swimming pool and left us to our devices.
I continued massaging her, now using both hands on her shoulders, “Just helping a student who has a certain condition to not miss swimming lessons. Orimura-sensei approved it.”
Hayashi-sensei’s pen stopped moving as she leaned into my touch, a soft hum escaping her lips. “Fine… but if I hear any complaints about improper use of facilities…”
Her voice trailed off there as if she were already imagining me using that opportunity to do something indecent.
Well, she’s not wrong. Yuika-senpai and I already did something last week. But it’s not what I planned, right? It just happened.
“Mhm. I promise I’ll behave. I can’t have you get mad at me, sensei.”
“Cheeky brat.” She scoffed and leaned back, closing her eyes briefly as my fingers worked the tension from her neck.
Looking at her like this, I couldn’t help but smile as I focused on giving her the relief she needed. Mentioning what happened yesterday was a no-no, of course. But for all I know, she’s also thinking about it. After all, it changed the dynamics between us. From teacher-student to… something more complicated.
For sure, she’s still not totally comfortable with how things changed between us.
“Sensei, can I sit with you? You know… so I can hold you properly?”
“Shut up, perverted brat. I… I know what you’re thinking. Keep it in your pants.” Hayashi-sensei snapped. However, her tone was as soft as her shoulders beneath my fingers. She didn’t push me away, either.
“I’m not thinking of that, you know? I just thought… we both need it. Just until I have to go.” My hands slid down her arms, thumbs pressing into tense muscles.
Hayashi-sensei looked up at me, her stern eyes seemingly trying to read my expression. A moment later, she sighed, letting out a soft exhale that sounded like surrender.
With that, she shifted slightly on her chair, making space for me. It’s not an invitation, but permission. I settled beside her, one arm wrapping around her waist but instead of getting content with that, I lifted her slightly just so I could position myself properly. She ended up sitting between my legs.
“I knew it, you brat,” Hayashi-sensei muttered as my arms encircled her waist, her back pressing against my chest. Her pen clattered onto the desk when my fingers slid beneath her blouse, tracing the smooth skin of her navel.
She stiffened momentarily, something like a reflex against vulnerability, before exhaling shakily, her head tilting back against my shoulder.
“Sorry, sensei. I can’t help it. You’re just too irresistible.” I naturally didn’t plan to do anything more than this. I just thought I should tease her to loosen her up.
