“I will send my subordinates to take over the cities under your control. Once they get there, you can take your people home.” The emperor patted Alaric’s shoulder.
“Thank you for granting my request, Your Majesty.” Feeling grateful, Alaric lowered his head.
“You deserve it.” The emperor responded with a smile.
After that exchange, the emperor had a brief conversation with Donovan and the three Venerables. He mentioned that he would meet the Veronican empress and try to make up for her losses. To his words, the three Veronican Venerables could only agree without complaint.

“Alaric, if there comes a time when you think that Leighnard will do something wrong, I hope that you will try to help him do what is right.” The emperor stared deeply at him.
“I carry the blood of Astania, Your Majesty. It is my duty to help him once he becomes the next ruler.” Alaric solemnly replied.
The emperor smiled faintly. “You should return to Midgard. I will make the necessary arrangements so you can have that vacation early.”
“Thank you, Your Majesty! Please be careful on your travels.” Alaric bowed and left after bidding him farewell.
The emperor watched him leave, his eyes flashing with deep interest.

Alaric snickered. “So will you agree to become my wife if I promise not to make you do all those tasks?”
